I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended behavior, but if you run the "Rebuild Address Locator" tool on a locator that is in your current instance of ArcGIS Pro, when the tool completes, the locator is completely removed from the current project and has to be re-added. If you run the tool by scheduling the GP tool, this does not happen. But if you have ArcGIS Pro open and rebuild the locator, it will be removed. Very annoying to have to constantly re-add the locator.

That option is checked for me. It specifically references the related table ID and makes it sound like there is a problem with me manually changing the numeric IDs. But I can't just overwrite with the new layer, because that would break maps that used that layer, right?

New question. Is there a way to publish the service so that it doesn't need to be reconfigured in existing maps? When I go to overwrite it, it changes the layer ID number to something different than what was originally published. I have manually changed all of the numbers to match what it originally was and added on the subdivisions to the end, but I'm getting new message in the analyze window: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/sharing/analyzer-warning-messages/24171-enabling-unique-relate-ids-to-be-honored-by-arcgis-server-requires-version-11-3-or-later.htm That, to me, sounds like proceeding with publishing this could potentially mess up the existing service that I have out there. I'd like this to be seamless if possible.

Welp. A bit embarrassing as it was an obvious error on my part in hindsight. While the feature dataset connection was set to branch versioning, the database connection file was set to traditional versioning. We are currently in a transition phase to portal, so we are in a mixed versioning environment. I thought that dataset level version setting was what mattered, but obviously not. Thank you for your help!

Unfortunately I am still getting Error 999999. Here is what I did. 1. The service was already stopped so I went into the parameters and unchecked 'Lock Database Schema' 2. I started the service. 3. I disabled versioning on the Parcel Fabric dataset. 4. I right clicked the fabric in the engerprise geodatabase > Manage > Add Parcel Type and used the name "Subdivisions" This was the result: Did I miss a something?

I want to start keeping track of subdivision phases and boundaries in our parcel fabric. It is already published to the portal. I can't figure out how to add a new parcel type, however. There doesn't seem to be a way to do it on the portal version, so I figured that meant it needed to be done on the enterprise geodatabase side. I stopped the service in portal, and ran the add new parcel type tool, but it tells me that I can't add a non-versioned feature class to a dataset with a versioned topology. So next, I unregistered the dataset as versioned and ran it again. This time, I got the dreaded Error 999999. So I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do from here. Any advice?

I receive a lot of CAD data for utilities for our local government. When I add a CAD file into ArcGIS Pro, it usually loads in fine, but in a practically unusable way. Here is an example: As you can see in the first picture there is a ton of large and awkwardly formatted text. If I look at this same file in DWG trueview, it does not look like this. The text is much smaller and doesn't overlap itself. The second, and largest problem is that all of the cad layers are grouped together so you can't cut things off individually. I don't care about 90% of the things in this drawing. I am only interested in water line data. In DWG trueview, I am able to cut the various layers on/off as needed. But when adding the dwg to arcpro, it just lumps all the lines into one file, all the polygons in another, all the points in another, and all the text in another. There is no easy way to quickly toggle the individual layers on/off without diving in and doing definition queries on the layer. Is there an easier way to make this data usable? I don't have ~$2000/year to buy Autocad that allows you to export shapefiles easily. Any other alternatives?

No. We are both connecting as OS authenticated users. So if I created the layer, there is no way at all for her to modify the schema? I created a layer with bare minimum attribution with the intent of allowing her to add only the attributes that are needed for the project as the need arises. I would really like for members of the core GIS team to be able to add fields to dataset as needed rather than have to wait for me to do it for them.

One of my users is trying to add a new attribute field to data that is stored in a traditionally versioned enterprise SQL geodatabase. She has the exact same SQL server permissions that I do as far as I can tell. For some reason I can edit the schema, but she can't. Any ideas what is going on here?

This is good info. Thank you. Do you share all your layers from your named user AGOL account or do you have an AGOL admin account to share out organization wide data?

We currently have ~40 active users. Of those 40, maybe 10 are actual creators of content and data editors.

GIS at my organization is rapidly expanding beyond being something that just the GIS department is using. We have a rapidly growing AGOL footprint (soon to be portal within the next year), but AGOL org has historically been setup with just the GIS department in mind. No broader consideration given to departmental data and users outside of the GIS department. I'm looking to change that retroactively, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what a good organizational structure looks like. One area I've always struggled with AGOL is the lack of nested folders. My content page is just pure chaos, mostly because I'm not really sure how else I should be storing things. I'd love to have a folder for each department/project and organize further from there, but that isn't possible. So I'd love to get a peak into a "model" organization that is both easy to maintain and easy to find and share data through. That way when we move to Portal, I can start from a clean slate with a better system in mind. Thank you!

More specifically, the actual name that is in the service definition. Not the individual layer within the service and not giving it an Alias by editing the name in the AGOL item details page. All that does is mask the original name. Specifically, this is what I'm looking to change the name of:
