That is exactly the document, and that completely answers my question. You don't by chance know of where more current ArcPad documentation would be? I have the PDF of ArcPad help from 2011, but would still like something more recent.

I am using ArcGIS 10.2.2, and ArcPad 10.2. I do need to check them in, and I have had significant difficulties. I'm itemizing the troubleshooting. I am using file geodatabases, and wanted to make sure there wasn't something specific about the personal geodatabases that could be contributing to the problems. From this I realize that the file geodatabases are not the issue. Thank you for your help!

I have inherited a project that uses Nomads with ArcPad to collect point data. I have limited ArcPad knowledge, so I have been reading the material available online. In "How to: Check Out/In data from ArcMap to ArcPad for editing," it specifies to use a personal geodatabase. Is there a specific reason for this or is a file geodatabase equally, or possibly more advantageous?

Hi Stephen, Thanks for replying. I will see about converting to a .tiff, it may be prohibitively large in that format. I am also looking into a solution to the blackout via mosiacing. I will also bring up the possibility of tech support. We are government based so Tech support is different somehow. I'm not sure exactly; I'm new here.

What do you do if the data frame required exceeds the extent of the coordinate system? We are using state plane, and are on the border of north and south. The overlap on both sides is insufficient, and I' using the rasters in ArcPad, so the coordinate system must be the same. Can I project into say UTM and and then have the mosaic in SPS if a .sid exceeds the SPS extent?

I have 2 .sid images that we use in ArcPad. Where the images overlap, there is a blackout area where there is a '0' value from the projections. In arcMap, I can simply symbolize a '0' value as null and eliminate the black-out. They are both projected into the same state plane system, even though the boundary is through one of the images. This means that the projection extent is exceeded, and therefore the images cannot be mosaiced. I cannot reproject one nor the other both because of the boundary of the State-Plane system, and everything has to have the same coordinate system in ArcPad. Any suggestions? Thank you!!

I'm using ArcMap 10.2. I have 2 columns in a joined table that I need to compare. They need to have the exact same content, and there are about 3,000 rows. I tried this: (changed field names for security) [column1] ==!column3! return yes else: return no the Field calculation failed. I think I'm forgetting something really basic in the python script. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Hi Stan, yes they all even have the same sharing level, within my organization. I even changed the levels too see if it would refresh or something. No luck. Thank you though. I would love to fix this, so if you think of anything else, let me know. Faith

I am still working with the EPA data, but I have moved on to making a web app displaying current AQI from AirNow, and conditions from 1980 (the earliest collection in my study area, San Bernardino, CA) I have the EPA data for CO, SO2, NO2, and O3 symbolized by the AQI standards for harm/safety. In the web app however, I can only get 1980CO to show up in the attribute table widget. I would like for all 4 attribute table to be displayed, but can't figure out what's wrong. I would love some suggestions on how I can get the attribute tables to display. Thanks, Faith

I am at the "build a site selection model" exercise of the course. In step 3, we are asked to add the Append tool with ResBuff, ParksBuff, and Flood Plains as inputs. The output should be Unsuitable. At first there was an error because Unsuitable did not exist. I ran the model that included the create "Unsuitable" feature class. The Model was colored, but an extra blue "Unsuitable (2)" input was added. Unsuitable (2) should be the output. I deleted the auxiliary input, but the append tool was back in white. i have deleted and re-added both Append and Create Feature Class separately, and together and no matter how I enter the data, the same problem exists. i am at a loss on how to make my Model look like the tutorial. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks, Faith

I am doing the Esri 3D Visulazation Techniques web course, and just finished symblizing the watch towers. After using the fly tool to get a closer look, my scene vanished. When I hit 'view full extent' the scene flashes and disapears again. I get the same results when I zoom to a layer. I trying adding the vegitation layer to see if the problem would self correct but no luck. I have not saved my work, and I am not sure how to fix this problem. Can anyone please offer some suggestions on how to fix it, and insight into what went wrong? Thank you, Faith
