So I am in the beginning stages of setting up a Web Map application BUT before I do I want to test out if the attachments (.pdf documents) will have any trouble "appearing" in the web app. I want to test this through a service first, which leads me to a few questions before I start: 1. When I create the service will the attachments (.pdf) appear with the corresponding layer? 2. After I have created the service how can I get some from a different organization to use/see it? I have ArcGIS 10.3 installed and have ArcGIS 10.2.2 Dekstop installed on my machine and the end user will be accessing the service through ArcGIS 10.2.2 Desktop as well. I am thinking this should be a fairly easy task but would appreciate any and all advice, comments, etc. Thanks, C

I have not tried using the tool yet and I have also not tried using a different desktop either. I am going to back up the database first and then I will give the other two solutions a try.

I tried to reconcile my edits from a child version to the parent version (default) over the past couple of days but ArcMap keeps crashing every time I try and do this? Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions to fix this issue? I am running version 10.2, windows 7 Thanks!

Please help I just deleted about 2 months worth of work because I reconciled my edits in error (attribute instead of rows). I then unversioned the database and then reversioned in order to delete a feature class. Is there anyway I can recover my work outside of an agency backup file, which I not sure exists:/

I just upgraded to ArcGIS for Desktop 10.2.2 and I am connecting to an older SDE connection our organization uses. I cannot any type of Raster image I keep getting an error message stating "Invalid raster dataset. Failed to create raster layer." I don't believe the raster set to be invalid as I was just using it this morning with version 10.1. Any solution/tips would be appreciated!

The Copy tool is the primary method. Try reading: Help > Geodata > Geodatabases > Copying geodatabases This does not work with attachments, which is why I am using the import/export xml method.

Using xml to copy large and complex data sets is not recommended by Esri. The Help entry "Copying a geodatabase using geodatabase XML workspaces" notes: <quote> The resulting geodatabase XML document can be huge when you copy both the data as well as the schema. Generally, this alternative is not recommended for copying geodatabase data. Alternatives for making a geodatabase copy include the use of the Copy tool and the Extract Data Wizard in ArcMap to copy subsets of the information. <unquote> Exporting to xml depends on how well the workspace contents render into xml by Arc, which is expecting arc-type objects. Things it cannot handle (BLOBS like attachments) get stored as XMLPersistedObjects, which are, I imagine, a bit unwieldy. So what is the ESRI recommended method of copying large and complex datasets?

I was just wondering if there are size limitations to importing XML Workspace Documents? I have been trying to import a XML Workspace document into a file geodatabase and I keep getting an error stating there is not enough space. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I working with a SDE database with a feature dataset that has 6 or 7 feature classes that have documents attached to them via 'Attachments.' In order to periodically back-up the database, export it to the client and eventually move it to a new server. I am exporting the feature classes with 'Attachments' using the 'Export XML Workspace' and 'Import XML Workspace' tool in ArcToolbox to move them to a file geodatabase. The feature classes that have a small number of attached documents are exporting and importing fine, however, one particular feature class has a large amount of attached documents. This feature exports fine but it will not let me import the feature class into a file geodatabase. I keep getting an error (see attachment to this post) stating that "Xml Parsing failed. Reason: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation." Can someone clarify how I can resolve this issue? I have tried moving the file geodatabase to another drive with plenty of storage. Furthermore, the feature class with the attachments is not even close to 1GB yet but it, along with the others, will continue to grow, which is why I need to resolve this issue now. Thanks, Desktop version 10.1 Windows 7
