Hi Richard, Sounds like there might be a data connection issue. To test this, right-click the problem map frame and click "Open". This should open a map view. Are all the features drawing as you expect? Is the scale of the map as you would expect? If everything seems normal with the map are you able to create a new layout with a legend using this "problem" map? Tom

Levi, Thanks for the quick reply. I'm glad you found a workaround! I can reproduce. I believe that this is related to other Layout/TOC stability issues reported. We are working diligently to solve these issue for the next release (mid 2019). Tom

Hi Jessie, Currently, we are unaware of any specific issue with inserting Chart Frame into a page layout with 2.3.1. Have you contacted tech support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. In the meantime, try exporting the chart to an .svg file. You can do this in the Chart View. See the "Share your chart" section under the help topic Charts quick tour—Charts | ArcGIS Desktop for more information. Then bring the file you created into the layout page as a Picture element. See the "Insert pictures" section in the following help topic - https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/layouts/add-and-modify-graphics-and-text.htm for more information Hope this helps, Tom

Shaun, This appears like a bug. I haven't seen this problem, yet, and would be very interested in reproducing this. If you run into this again could you contact technical suppport? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support . Again, thanks for the feedback! Tom

Hi Shaun, I agree that more pictures in the help would... well, help. Unfortunately, we author the help with an international audience in mind and it can be time-consuming to get images translated if they have text. Also, if the UI changes between releases there could be any number of help images to update and if these get missed - images that are out-of-date. Tom

Brian, Thanks for the feedback. There is an entry on the Ideas site that we are keeping an eye on - https://community.esri.com/ideas/15119-arcgis-pro-legend-options. Please feel free to add your comments and suggestions. We hope to have a legend improvement project (maybe in 2020 or 2021) and feedback is crucial in helping us design and prioritize the changes we make to the software. Thanks, Tom

Yes. You can set where the anchor (top-right, top-middle, etc...) is for the element, and then the X and Y page positions in either the Element pane or in the Format tab on the ribbon for the selected element.

Shaun, Alignment in Pro works such that there is no "dominant" element that determines the alignment. What determines the alignment is which element is the furthest in that direction. For example, Align Right will find the element whose boundary is the farthest to the right and will align the other elements accordingly. One work around for you would be to use the position properties to place the elements. Be sure to set the correct anchor position. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Levi, Not being able to remove/delete a table frame would be a fairly serious issue. Are able to delete the existing table frame from the page? The ability to re-source the table frame to point to another layer (present in any map frame on the active layer) is something that is currently being worked (as specified in this thread). When you attempt to add a new table frame do you have a layer selected in the Contents pan? This would be one reason why the button is grayed out. Another reason is you are attempting to add a table frame for a layer4 that isn't supported (e.g. basemap layers). What kind of layer are you working with? Tom

Amelia, Looks like the layer with multiple classes is dropping the layer name, where layers that only have a single class are placing the layer name to the right of the legend patch. Depending on how your legend is defined this could be expected. Please refer to http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/map/page-layouts/working-with-legends.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_2040FE26EC974FB99067448A6C8C7380 for more information on how to nformat your legend. Hope this helps, Tom

Brian, This is on purpose. In order to always display a fill for the polygon (even if it is empty) the legend will limit the thickness of the outline to about 1/4 the size of the patch. If you want to preserve thick polygon outlines in the legend you will need to increase the size of the legend patch. If you do not want to change the size of the legend patch there is no way to adjust the outline width of a legend patch manually. You will need to create your own graphic separate from the legend. Hope this helps, Tom

Shaun, From the screenshots it looks like the scale bar adjusts properly to the change in map scale, but the scale text does not. Is the scale text element pointing to the right map frame? You can see which map frame the element is pointing to by opening the elements properties. The name of the map frame is highlighted in the image below. I'm not aware of any issues with using templates or copying and pasting scale text elements. In my testing they update as I expect. It is possible you may still be seeing a bug. Can you contact Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support . If you add a new scale text element does it show the correct scale? Tom

Shaun, It is available. Please refer to the help topic - https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/layouts/grids-and-graticules.htm. Your screenshot shows graticules (in degrees minutes and seconds). So you might be interested in this help topic - https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/layouts/add-and-modify-graticules.htm. Hope this helps, Tom
