Robert, I'm still missing something. I'm not sure what a scanned map has to do with needing grid/grat features. Assuming that the scanned map has been geo-referenced correctly and that the spatial reference of the map containing this scanned image is correct I don't understand why using map frame grids would not not sufficient. Why do they have to be features? What exactly do you want from grid/grat features that you do not get from the map frame grid? Thanks, Tom

Hi Johanna, When you add a new field to a table (and save the this change to the table's schema in the Fields View) the new field will not automatically appear in the Table Frame. You will need to add this field to the Table Frame manually. 1. From the Contents pane, right-click the Table Frame 2. Click "Add Field" 3. Choose the new field you want to add to the Table Frame The table Frame should automatically pick up any value changes. If a field is removed from the table (and this schema change is saved) and this removed field appears in the Table Frame it will be automatically removed from the Table Frame (once the table's schema change has been saved). Though the Table Frame automatically picks up value changes without having ton save these changes (edits), you do need to save any schema changes (add/delete fields) before the Table Frame can recognize and adjust to these changes. The only time Pro automatically adds fields to a Table Frame is when it is inserted onto the layout. For more information on Table Frames please see Add and modify table frames—Layouts | ArcGIS Desktop. For more information on Fields View see Fields view—Geodatabases | ArcGIS Desktop. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Robert, Currently there is no way for you to create map features (layers) from a map grid. This is something we hope to get to sometime in the future. Is there a particular reason you need these to be features in the map instead of an element on the map frame? What is the end product that you have in mind? Thanks, Tom

Hi Adam, The insert Map Frame gallery will give you up to 3 basic options in which to insert a map frame onto your layout. 1. Default Extent: This is the extent defined for the map. If there is no extent defined the extent will be the largest extent of your data. If you have a standard basemap this means your extent is the world. You can set a map extent in the Extent tab in Map Properties. 2. Bookmarks: You can use any bookmark belonging to the map to set the initial extent of the map frame. You should see the name of the bookmark listed underneath the thumbnail. 3. Map Views: You can use any of the open views of the map to set the initial extent of the map frame. With open views you should see the map scale underneath the thumbnail. You can hover the mouse over each thumbnail to see additional information. If there are no open views of the map and the map has no bookmarks the only option available will be the default. By looking at the screenshot you provided there appears to be a single map named "Map" in the project with a single map view at scale 1:77,844. The screenshot for tutorial shows 2 map views of 2 different maps: "Central Wellington" and "Region". If these map are part of your project they should be listed in the insert Map Frame gallery. Are these maps listed in the Catalog pane of your project? If not, that is why you don't see "Region" in the gallery. If the maps are there and NOT available in the insert Map Frame gallery... that would be a bug. Thanks, Tom

Hi Joanna, What version of ArcGIS Pro are you using? A lot of work was done in this area over the 2.3 and 2.4 releases. It is possible that something was missed. Can you contact Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. Thanks, Tom

Hi Katie, I think grouping classes should give you the result you are looking for. This is done in the Symbology pane. To combine symbol classes, select the symbol class rows from the table while pressing the Ctrl key. Right-click and click Group values to combine selected classes into one group. Ungroup a grouped class by right-clicking it and clicking Ungroup values . Pro tip: After selecting the classes you want to group, right-click within a Value or Label cell of one of the selected classes to bring up the correct content menu (as seen above). If you try this in one of the symbol cells you will get the Color Picker. Also, to get to "New group" you need to bring up the "Move value" sub-menu. The Legend (layout) should the test of these new groups as Headings. For more information please see Unique values—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop . Hope this helps, Tom

Marcel, I do not understand your workflow. A map series belongs to a layout. It is a one to one relationship. You cannot have two layouts that belong to the same map series. I do not know what you mean by "Now I have two layouts, in a map series." "Each time I edit an annotation, the redraw doesn't return to the map series page I was working on." I don't know what you expect here. If you're activating a map frame that is part of a map series to edit some annotation that is already visible on the map aren't you already on the map series page that annotation you just edited is visible on? "Very time consuming to have to get out of my activated map frame to reactivate via navigate to page and going back to my layout, activate it and start again." Is there a specific reason you are doing your annotation editing with the layout view and not in a map view? Could you elaborate or provide some examples/screenshots of what you are currently doing and what you want to do? Thanks, Tom

Hi Thomas, You should be able to do this using Pro. You'll be adding two separate grids and defining label/tick visibility for each grid. Assuming that your maps are in either the NAD83 or WGS84 datums you should be able to use the MGRS grids provided in the Grid Gallery for the USNG part. Once you've added the grid you will want to define label/tick visibility. 1. Open the properties for the grid 2. Go to the Options tab & Expand the Edges and Corners group 3. Toggle on both check boxes Here you'll see the edges and corners of your map frame defined. For example, the "top" is edge 1. The bottom right corner is corner 3. Once the edges and corners are defined it is time to define label\tick visibility. 4. Switch to the Components tab in the Format Map Grid pane. 5. Select the Corner Labels component 6. Contract all the groups except for Corner Visibility to make the UI easier to work with 7. Click the Selected button to work with individual corners 8. Toggle on the Show corner visibility indicators (I tend to forget which corner is which) 9. Select corner 1 and toggle off the label pairs 10. Select corner 3 (bottom right) and toggle the visibility on. 11. Select the 10,000 Labels. 12. Click Selected 13. Select edges 1 (top) and 4 (left) and toggle off the visibility for all directions. (Note: I'm doing this even though specific directions may not apply to this particular map just in case the map is later rotated or I save this grid out to a style that might be used for another map that is rotated. For a more complete discussion on this please see https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/layouts/mgrs-grids.htm). 14. Repeat for ticks. Now I've got my MGRS (USNG) grid displaying labels/ticks on just the right and bottom (east and south for this particular map) I can add a measured grid for the UTM part and repeat the same steps above to set the label/tick visibility for the top and left. Once you have the grids the way you like them you may want to consider saving the grid out to a style. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Samantha, Which version of Pro are you using? Pre-2.4 there is a bug where snapping was not honoring any gap applied to element frame decorations (ex: the border of an element). This has been resolved at 2.4. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Marcel, There is no restriction with having a decimal value as a division value for a scale bar that is using Nautical Miles as the map unit. Below is a screenshot of an .mxd imported into ArcGIS Pro 2.3. I believe that what you are seeing is likely due to something specific with the document you are importing. It could also be an issue with the coordinate system of the map. We need more information to investigate. Are you able to contact technical support? Tom

Applying the page query to multiple layers should work provided that all the layers share the same field and that this field is a match for the page name of the map series. For more information see https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/layouts/page-queries.htm. Tom
