Hi Andy, According to the help topic "Create a spatial map series" the name field must be either an integer, long integer or a text field type. What are the field types for the fields you do not see in the drop down? Might also be useful to know the source for the layer - is it a feature class from a file geodatabase? Does it have a join? Thanks, Tom

Hi Asia, The legend pulls it information (symbols, and text: layer name, labels, descriptions) from the symbology of the layer. Often what you see in the Contents pane (TOC) is what you'll see in the legend (on the layout page). Without seeing your data and how you are symbolizing your layer (facilities?) it is impossible to troubleshoot legend issues. Can you provide a screenshot of Contents pane and the legend? Tom

Hi Brooks_SummitGeo, As far as I know there are no known bugs concerning the "Within map series shape". As Josh points out below feature geometry may affect the results. It is impossible to troubleshoot potential issues with working with the actual map/data. If you think you are running into a bug can you contact Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. Thanks, Tom

Hi Sara, Zooming into a map within a map view will change the scale of the map allowing you to see more detail. You can see the current scale of the map at the bottom of the view window. When you add a map to a page layout you are really adding a container for the map called a Map Frame. You can activate the map frame and zoom in much like you would if you viewed the map with a map view. You should see similar results. However, and this is the important point, without an active Map Frame you are essentially zooming into the layout page. Much like taking a magnifying glass to a printed map. The map's scale does not change so you will not see more detail like zooming in a map view or activated Map Frame. You just see more detail in the existing display. I don't believe PDFs have a way of changing the scale or extent of a Map Frame so viewing a map in PDF will be limited to what features are displayed at the map scale present when the layout was exported. You might want to consider exporting a bookmark map series to PDF where the you determine the map scale for each page so that the user can see more detailed views of your map. Though this does not give your users the ability to interactively zoom in and out, it is an option that might serve your needs. If interactively is a perquisite you will need to find an that your users can use that provide this ability, perhaps consider publishing a web map if you have an AGOL account? Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Alex, I have only seen this when there is an invalid character in the text string that invalidates the tag, however you sound assured that this is not the case. Its possible that you have run into a bug, but without more information it is impossible to know for sure. Can you contact Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. Thanks, Tom

Hi aviz84, I believe you are running into a known issue: BUG-000135718 Creating a PDF with a customized page size fails in ArcGIS. Can you contact Esri Support? They can help confirm that the issue you are running into is the same as BUG-000135718. If it is the same support can add your information to the existing issue. If your issue is different, support can enter a new bug with steps/data specific to what you're experiencing. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. Thanks, Tom

Hi Mark, Thanks for submitting a bug. I'll be on the look out for it. In the meantime you might want to consider exporting to a PDF and printing the PDF as a work around. Tom

All, Lots of good advice. Thanks. I have one addition that should help. You can press the "1" key (not the one from the number pad, but the one underneath the F keys) to navigate the page layout with an active map frame. This will allow you to zoom/pan the page without changing the map extent. For more info on keyboard shortcuts see https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/arcgis-pro-keyboard-shortcuts.htm Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Mark, The overflow ellipsis should be "screen only". It should NOT appear in any print or exported output. If you are seeing the overflow ellipsis in your output I would consider that a bug and contact support. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Noam, You can use feature geometry to "shape" the map frame by clipping the map. You would then use the border symbol of the clipped map as the border of the map frame by removing the map frame's border (set map frame border size to 0 or color to null in the Display tab of the map frame properties pane). This would give the impression of a "shaped" map frame even though the map frame is still a rectangle. However, this only gets half way. Outside of a map series there is no way I know of to use feature geometry to shape an extent indicator. For a static map I agree with Dan's suggestion. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi TadeášDěd, I would start with these topics that are almost like a tutorial. Even though they were written for ArcMap, the concepts are the same for ArcGIS Pro. They should give you an idea of what a strip map is and how it may work for you. Based on the screenshot you provided you got a mix of portrait and landscape orientation in relation to the line. You may want to edit the grid feature as you see fit. Hope this helps, Tom Preparing the strip map Creating strip map index features

Hi Bert, When "downsizing" the layout page, for example changing the layout page from A1 (594 mm x 841) to the smaller A2 (420 mm x 594) it would expected that previous items will be left off the page since there is no scaling items on the layout to "fit the page". For example, in the screenshot below I have an A1 page size layout with 3 rectangular items. When I reduce the page size to A2 the more than half of the red border is off the page and the uppder right blue rectangle is completely off the page. When export this to PDF I only get what's on the page as expected. Hope this helps, Tom
