Hi Erik,  I'm not currently aware of any general, or specific issues with opening layout files in Pro 3.0 or 3.0.2.  Without knowing the makeup of the layout file I cannot offer any suggestions to resolve or work around this issue. Hi Robert,  I noticed in your video that the New layer option under Synchronize with map group in the Legend Element pane is checked on. When you group layers you are technically creating a new layer - a group layer. If  New layer is checked its member layers are going to be added to the legend. I don't think we would treat group layer differently than a single layer. For the workflow shown in the video I would suggest unchecking New layer before grouping the map layers. This will keep the legend from automatically detecting new group layers (and their members) and will give you the ability to drag layers in and out of the legend as you see fit.  Hope this helps,  Tom ... Hi Rob,  You ask if there is a way to "Set word wrapping on legend when using both labels and descriptions?" As you probably know you can do this with a 2 clicks at the legend level and it applies to all layers.  From the help topic Arrange a Legend. Currently, there is no way to apply word wrapping for both Labels and Descriptions in a single click.  Reading further in your post it looks like you'd want to set wrapping at the legend item (layer) level - different wrapping values for different legend items. Currently, this is not supported in Pro. I believe this is how word wrapping has worked for Data Driven Pages in ArcMap and how it has worked Map Series in ArcGIS Pro. Sounds like a good candidate for the ideas site. Unfortunately, having all your legend items in a single columns restricts your options as I'm sure you have already discovered. You'll probably need to move to a multiple column legend and play with with layer order and the spacing between columns and or legend item parts to get a better legend.   Another possible solution it multiple legends (each with different legend items and with different wrapping values). In this case you will need to know the full extent (which map series page fully extents the legend) in order to avoid pages where the legends overlap. It is possible to create a sperate legend for each legend item if you want. Doesn't look like you are working with that many layers, so this might be an option. Hope this helps, Tom ... View more

Lauren,  I understand the placement limitations of labels, however, if you are creating a point feature class just for labeling you can always move the point feature for better label placement. Though I do like your idea on calculating the angle. That should make for a cleaner solution than creating a new feature class. Tom ... View more

Hi Rhett,  Yes, in your example the annotation is rotating with the map frame as expected. I believe the request was to have the annotation rotation adjust accordingly based on the map rotation of the current map sheet. My interpretation of this is to basically keep the text horizontal regardless of the map rotation. As far as I know, this cannot be done with though the UI. Tom ... View more

Hi Lauren,  Unlike labels, annotation will not automatically update based on map rotation. You will need to edit the angle property of each annotation accordingly. For more information see https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/data/annotation/annotation.htm For your case, I would suggest creating a new point feature class that has a field(s) with the text you want to display and using labels instead of annotation. Hi Sujan,  I see service layer credits text appearing in the bottom left corner of the map frame. This tells me you have a service layer in your map. It is possible that the service layer has scale dependencies set and will not draw at certain scales. You might want to change the map scale of the map frame to test this. You can do this by either activating the map frame and using the mouse to zoom in/out, or you can change the scale by using the scale control at the bottom left of the layout view window. Hi Justin,  I'm not aware of any selection issues concerning layout elements  (ex: text, legend, scale bar, map frames, etc...). Without more information, such as what elements you are working with (do they overlap?), the steps taken before encountering the bug (are you using the ribbon command to deselect elements?), or the state of the layout (ex: is a map frame active?, are the elements locked?).
