I you can package up the data and the dynamic value table and provide me a reproducible case, I can figure out what is going on.

There is no log file for that process. We can add an option to suppress any errors or warnings. It looks like Arcmap lost the connection to your GDB. Does the server or database go through any nighttime maintenance?

On March 1st, we are releasing an update to the Water Utility Network Editing solution and a preview of the analysis tools for the Gas As-Built Editing solution. This update will provide a connection isolation trace tool for gas customer and an update the water valve isolation trace for water customers. These trace routines have a new option on how the results are returned. Instead of a selection set or a graphic, you can now get a copy of the results as a set of in-memory layers. This new return option allowed us to craft a model to easily share these to a service so anyone in the organization can access the results. Check out the video below highlighting these new features.

To set a value once and apply it to any new or created feature, I would use Last Value. On the AA toolbar, you can open the last value table and set the WO number. Then any new feature will get it. To manage data in a WO, have you seen the Cascade Attribute rule? We use it a lot for management of road names and a master street name table. This might work for you. If you have a WO table, you can tag features as part of that workorder and any change to that workorder table can push changes to related records. Update Linked Record might also work. Thanks everyone for the tables, feedback and question, these are great!

Are you using Generate ID or autonumber? You will need to use Generate ID and make sure the Generate ID table is not versioned. If it is versioned, it will make duplicate IDs.

Zach, I was able to reproduce your case and add a fix. The issue was the intersecting feature logic buffers the data by the xy tolerance of the dataset to account for features not at the same xy, but within the tolerance of the data. This operations for this data caused an collapse or empty polygon. I added recursive logic to loop and expand the tolerance until an polygon is created to probably do the search. As we have already certified and signed the add in for the release on thursday of this week, it will not make it, but if you would like to request a hotfix, you can request one through Esri support. Great question. You should be able to trigger the AA through ArcObject, but your edits need to be wrapped in an Edit Operation and an Edit Session. Since the AA is just listening to edit events, anything that raises that event should work.

Zach, In reviewing your files, you can see where it fails, it reports, Layer Found: Primary Underground. As I mentioned before, the code is finding the edited feature and existing. In the instances where it works, it is report Layer Found: Primary Overhead. So I can add an enhancement/bug to ignore the source feature, but for now you will have to use the prompt to select the correct feature. You can always get support by creating an Esri Tech support incident.

We’re doing some research into how the Attribute Assistant is being used. We’d like to see what rules you are using and how you configured your dynamic value table. This information will help us plan for the future. We want to know what are the most common rules. We also want to see your gnarly and complicated rules to see how far the Attribute Assistant is being pushed. So please share your dynamic value table along with any comments you have in this thread. We appreciate your help on this effort! Thanks, Mike ArcGIS Solutions PS: If you don’t know what the Attribute Assistant is (or aren’t sure if you are using it already) no worries. You can learn more about Attribute Assistant on the ArcGIS Solution site here.

I have seen this issue when there are true curves in the data. Try a generalize first. This should remove all the curves and product the proper JSON.
