Thank you Tomasz TARCHALSKI for documenting this bug. I am running version ArcGIS Pro 2.4.3 and have the same issue, but on a ShapeFile. My workaround is to duplicate the data set to avoid this, not very ideal. Any update to his Shaun Walbridge ?

Hi Aryle Butler I also had poor results on pdf-files (vector-based pdf-files, no OCR needed), but more success with txt-files and LocateXT. My experience is that LocateXT has a very limited pdf-reader capability compared to open source solutions like ghostscript. For this reason, I convert all pdf-files to txt-files before processing it with LocateXT (easily scripted using python by calling at batch-command to ghostscript). This is of cores a workaround and not expected for the prices we have to pay for the LocateXT extension?

Kory Kramer we sure are using Pro and ArcGIS Pro v2.2.4 has been very stable on our systems. I hope to see 2.3 meet the same level soon, because we need all the new features in 2.3

I made this positive update to ArcGIS Pro 2.2.1 painful slow using Basic License after ArcGIS Pro 2.3 was released. The issue with the Basic-license underperforming vs. Standard-license might be of interest to some of you as well: After working with our national Esri Support, Esri has acknowledged that a Basic-license underperforms (vs. Standard-license) when working with multiple subtypes and domains in a FGDB. ArcGIS Pro 2.3.0 has not resolved this, however Esri has agreed to provide temp-standard-licenses as a workaround enable us to meet our production requirements using ArcGIS Pro. This is customer support at its finest, I think. ArcGIS Pro 2.3.0 has likely resolved the very slow opening of the Attribute table (above 10 seconds). We suspect the “ArcGISSettings.xml” in “C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\ESRI” to be the issue, likely a result of upgrading from a previous ArcGIS Pro version. We need more time to do a final verdict on this subject. Slow ArcGIS Pro project opening and saving time is linked to the number of Layouts and Maps in the project on our systems. Deleting (primarily) Maps, reduce the opening and saving time dramatically. We a still testing what layers in the Maps are responsible for this. All in all ArcGIS Pro is evolving into a stable and productive application for us.

Issues addressed at ArcGIS Pro 2.3.1: Fixes for crashes reported by users through the ArcGIS Desktop Error Reporter. These fixes address intermittent crashes related to application window docking, font engine support, the Map Contents pane, and the Layer Transparency slider control. Is it more safe to test Pro 2.3 after this patch?

1) NITF for ArcGIS Desktop is only released for ArcMap and Server (Not Pro) via Esri Downloads 2 & 3) ArcGIS Pro and the Image Analyst Extension is moving ArcGIS into the remote sensing domain. But a lack of support for Substitute Sensor Models can potentially limit the use of ArcGIS Pro.

Enhancement request: Alphabetical order of the subtype in ArcGIS Pro Attribute Table (as in ArcMap 10.5.1) In ArcMap subtypes are in alphabetical order, based on subtype description in the Attribute Table, however in ArcGIS Pro subtypes are sorted based on the subtype code in the Attribute Table (see screenshot). Because of this the process of changing a subtype in a long list is a confusing user experience in ArcGIS Pro resulting in a slow workflow. This behavior is identified in a FGDB using ArcGIS Pro 2.3. An example FGDB is appended to this idea. Here the subtypes is clearly listed out of alphabetical order in ArcGIS Pro. If the subtypes are sorted in alphabetical order when added to the FGDB via an arcpy script, ArcMap 10.5.1 will show the list in alphabetical order (See attached FGDB and script).

ArcGIS Pro 2.3 is very slow with multiple Maps (and Layouts). We need this feature in arcpy to enable us to write clean-up scripts to help ArcGIS Pro running.
