Mike, from what you have described I think I have the very same setup - a feature class with a related table (one-to-many relationship on GlobalID) stored in an ArcSDE geodatabase with a service published to ArcGIS Server which is then added as an item on AGOL. The feature layer is added to a web map which then allows editing. Also the web map is consumed through Collector for online/offline editing. Cheers, Finnian

Thanks for the links Jayanta. However they do not address the use of AD Groups. I'm assuming this indicates what I'd like to do is not possible

We're in the planning stage of implementing Enterprise Logins for users of ArcGIS Online. I'm wondering can Active Directory groups be used to control membership of AGOL groups rather than having to manually add users? Thanks, Finnian

I'm wondering if anyone has tried writing data to a SharePoint list using GeoEvent? We're collecting data using Survey123 (data going to AGOL) and want the data to be stored in an on-premises SharePoint 2013 list, in addition a notification needs to be sent every time a new record is sent from Survey123. I don't have Enterprise + GeoEvent installed so haven't had a chance to test any of this so any comments, hints or suggested workflows are welcomed. Potentially FME is a good option for moving data from AGOL to SharePoint. Thanks, Finnian

Hi Mike, This is a great way to get a notification sent out that includes the data captured with the Survey123 form. Thanks for sharing, Finnian

Thanks for the reply Stephen. Will look forward to this being added in the future. The crowdsource story map is great, what I want to do is display it on a wall-mounted screen in the office or at conferences so everyone can see new data coming in - this is where the auto-refresh would be needed.

Is there a way to auto refresh the data collected through a Crowdsource app? I've gone to the underlying web map and set the refresh interval as per https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/create-maps/set-refresh-interval.htm. The data in the web map refreshes when a user submits a photo, however the crowdsource app wont update until the map zoom level changes (zoom out all the way and then new data displays). Cheers, Finnian

Definitely functionality that would benefit many different datasets being collected. My particular use case surrounds health and safety data. Incidents are recorded using Survey123 but an immediate notification is required to be sent. GeoEvent extension for ArcGIS Server has been suggested as a solution, however an integrated approach using only Survey123/ArcGIS Online would be preferred. Similar functionality outside the ESRI environment includes Microsoft Flow, Zapier or IFTTT. Either integrating with one of those or developing something similar for AGOL would offer great new potential. Cheers, Finnian

Hi JTedrick-esristaff, just to clarify, a survey published internally with Portal/Data Store as 'Public' will be available to anonymous users (no logon required for Portal) in the organisation? Assuming of course they are on the same internal network? Thanks, Finnian

Just adding another voice supporting report generation from Survey123. It is very much a requirement for certain data sets being collected and while there are ways to produce a report the simplest and most convenient option would be directly from the app itself. Cheers, Finnian

Hi Adrian, Yes, the metadata part of the XLS Form site was where I got that from. That's a nice tool you linked to as well, I haven't used it before so must give it a go. Cheers, Finnian

A quick look on XLSForm.org answered my own question. While it would be nice to be able to get the phone/tablet make and model my requirement is to be able to uniquely identify each device so using the deviceid field type will work in this case.

Is it possible to get information about the device a user is completing a survey on? e.g. make, model, device name etc. This data ideally would be automatically harvested without any user input. Thanks, Finnian

Nice blog post, very informative. Do you have a way of labeling features in an ArcGIS Online web map based on the related data? Or getting the data through a popup? It's great to be able to collect the data in a well constructed schema, but to be really useful being able to display/print the data through web maps would be great. Cheers, Finnian

Just to add in a comment I received from ESRI Support on this: "the request for the service is being made from your web browser directly to the GIS server. The data does not leave the server to go out to the internet." So to me, this means that internal data displayed in either a Portal web map or an AGOL web map would have no performance difference.
