This functionality would be great for making sharing items more manageable. Essentially this would replicate the functionality that exists when using Active Directory groups in the Windows environment.

I have an input mask (9999/99/99) for a text field. This works when the survey is opened on the field app, however when entering data via a web browser any input is allowed. Is this expected behaviour or should the input mask be honoured through the WebForm? Thanks, Finnian

Hi BArmstrong-esristaff, just to add that I am also observing this behavior when data is entered through a web browser and not the field app. A zero value is stored in all fields that are defined as an integer if a user does not enter any data. This happens without ever entering a value for the field (different to what you describe where an initial value is removed or the integer is within a repeat). Quite a problem for some of my forms as zero is a valid answer (as is a null value) so the data being stored is misleading. Cheers, Finnian

That's a nice way to get a warning message to the user. Do you know is there a way to actually exclude the answer provided to question1 from the lookup list of question2. I tried to add logic to the choice_filter however this was unsuccessful (see https://community.esri.com/thread/194227-excluding-a-value-in-a-list ).

Thanks for the additional information James. Definitely with a long survey form, correcting errors at the time of data input would be the preferred choice.

Hi Ismael Chivite, after an survey is published and coded value domains have been created for select_one questions, if I go back and add a new value on the choices tab of my XLSForm and then republish from Connect should the coded value domain in a hosted feature layer (on AGOL) be updated? I see the new value in the Survey123 form, however I'm not seeing it when I view the domain by following the instructions from How To: Add coded value domains to a hosted feature service in ArcGIS Online. I'm trying to create an Operations Dashboard which will filter data based on the field that has the coded value domain, however the new value doesn't show up. Cheers. Finnian

Thanks for the reply John. Is it possible to raise an error before the point of submission? It would be preferable to have the user correct the answer before moving on with the survey. A more elegant solution would be to remove the answer for question 1 from the lookup list of question 2 (see https://community.esri.com/message/683657-excluding-a-value-in-a-list where i've gone into detail on what i'm trying to do). I haven't been able to get this working, so what you describe here will prevent the error making it to the database. Thanks, Finnian

The new draw and annotate options are great. Really useful for inspection workflows. I'm wondering if there is (or will be) functionality that allows you modify a part of the sketch? Say you sketch three shapes and then want to change or delete the first of these shapes, can you select it and then modify/delete? Cheers, Finnian

I have two similar scenarios that require strings to be compared: 1) A form with two select_one questions, each with a separate lookup list. There is some duplication between the lookup lists. When an value is picked for question 1, it should not be allowed as an answer to question 2. Can I compare the strings to raise an error for the user? Or is it possible to exclude the answer of question 1 from appearing in the lookup list for question 2? 2) Similar to scenario 1, except the two questions use the same lookup list. Again, the value chosen for question 1 should not be allowed as the value for question 2. Is it possible to undertake string comparison in a constraint? so the constraint for question 2 would look like .!=${question1} or perhaps not(selected(.,${question1})) Cheers, Finnian

Hi James Tedrick, is it still the case that the mobile app wont support this logic? I have the exact same requirement and am trying to build the logic into the form in Survey123 Connect however I am getting an error when converting the XLSFrom. This is what my form looks like. Highlighted in red is where I'm trying to exclude the previous value entered. Cheers, Finnian
