No, they rely on ArcGIS Portals Hosted Server; so they rely on Datastore.

@DavidColey - We are just getting ready to do the same process at my locations. According to ESRI ProServices they don't have a issue with it being supported/unsupported as they say the support the OS vendors guidance. But we are doing it in a staged manner; Web-Adaptor/IIS machines first, the AGS machines, then Portal with liberal VM backups and ESRI WebgisDR snapshots.

I'll echo a bit of what @jcarlson said below but expound on it a bit. The biggest question will depend on how you are using/accessing the data. Major things to consider: 1. Will I have users using ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap/ArcCatalog) ? As these require a direct SQL driver interface that does bulk-cursor loading a cloud interface would not be recommended. 2. Will my users be primarily using ArcGIS Pro? If yes and you are working with Feature-Services/Hosted-Services then you will be in good shape. 3. Will my users be using Web-Clients (ArcGIS Online/Portal/etc)? If yes, then you will be in a good place as these all use the ESRI Service-Architecture which is much more forgiving versus the legacy/ArcGIS Desktop APIs.

Perfect; so I was close; I thought it was just a mixture of the right set of quotes and double-quotes just was running out of places to try.

So I am updating a working in 10.8.1; before we migrate to Pro. I have a couple existing values (quarter and year_2dig) that we use. I an wanting to do something like this: valuePrefix = "Q" + str(quarter) + str(year_2dig) + "_" Then arcpy.CalculateField_management(loccode_fc, "QRTR_KEY", '"valuePrefix !OBJECTID!"', "PYTHON","") So I would have a new unique value that says Q122_1 ... etc for each row But instead I get "colPrefix + 1" as the value... Ideas?

For the most part I have been pretty happy with it; I am on my second generation of Nutanix as a VM-Farm for my Enterprise and it is pretty good. Key things being to ensure you properly plan you deployment, thinking about your SDLC properly and your loads. So how to place and structure your AGS, Portal, Datastore layers, Web-Adaptors, and take into consideration high-availability.

The issue here is that the ESRI platform is using a lot of tools/components from other groups (ElasticSearch) that have this as a nested dependency. So they are in the place to wait for that component to be patched/upgraded to then upgrade their versions. This is a much bigger issue than anyone really sees in this scramble.

Agreed; but our PSAPS are unwilling to share their data consistently and while we are working on consuming data from our City and Counties that is time consuming.

I can't say the TomTom and Here are higher-quality; based on the amount of error submissions I have to give that take quite some time to ever get addressed. What I can say is that the refreshed TIGER data means there is a new baseline to work upwards from. In order to make Tiger really work with the 2010 and then the 2012 refresh data there was a number of files that made up of the EDGES, FACES, PLACE, as well as a FEATNAMES that made it work smoothly.

The that locator is the lowest level of my composite; I have TomTom and Here as well as City/County data higher in that stack. The goal is to get a consistent way to take the TIGER 2020 data much like the Geocoding team had templated and provide that guidance.

A number of years ago ESRI built a LOT.XML file that supported all of the US Census Tables and features needed to build a Address Locator. Now we are in ArcGIS Pro using the new style of locators and this process is beyond belief to try and migrate. Has anyone come up with any solutions for this?

Then I login to my AGOL instance (https://wador.maps.arcgis.com) I am unable to get any response when I click Notebooks. I get a spinning/loading icon and after 10min or so I just give up. Is there a deeper setting I need to set?

In truth; I actually have 2 externally facing Portals. 1) is Totally anonymous and publicly shared; 2) uses my states Single-Sign-On to access secured services that are not for public consumption. So both portals see like my Basemaps group and content for Webmaps; but then seperate groups are used to shared/host data between the PUBLIC and SECURE face. But everything is managed through my Internal Enterprise stack.
