So I just recently discovered that a "My Story" web page gets created when you create story maps. My story maps has services that are using our dmz web server url. When I go to my story web page and click on "check stories" button it says that those particular layer are inaccessible. we are running 10.3.1 I just installed the data interoperability extension. Rebooted my computer and also went to licenses manager and click re-read licenses. But when I go to activate the extension I am getting the "the extension could not be activated" I downloaded it from our esri organization page. I didn't a seperate authorization number with the extension since it is under the desktop download. How do I get it to activate? ... View more

So, I only briefly tried to add one of our map services (waterlines) to google earth. Our engineers and operation staff really like to use the street viewer. I thought it would be really neat if we could get our operational layers on google earth so that we can change any location issues with hydrants, valves, etc. But when I tried that it was unuseable slow, they showed up but took for ever. Is there a trick to getting the map services with kml capabilities to draw faster. Not sure if I am doing right or is that just the way it is with kml layers. Any help would be great. Thanks. E ... I recently implemented the map change request from LGIM. The download comes with a web symbol. is it possible to find this style or picture marker, or whatever. I want to change th values that the symbology is on, but I don't want to lose that symbols. ... View more

So I read through all the documents on relationship classes and I am still confused about how to go about it. What I am trying to do is this: We have a hydrant feature class in our water feature dataset. (which is an enterprise gdb, 10.3.1) I recently created an editable web application for our field guys to enter flushing data for when they flush particular hydrants. This data is used to account for waterloss. But I was told that they need to keep archival data on the hydrants that they flush. And because my original set-up was just adding the fields they needed to put info into directly into the hydrants feature class this only allows for one time data input. So, in order to get around this it was suggested that I create a relationship class (1-M) where I create a new sde table have this be my destintion table and use our existing hydrant feature class as the origin table. Then just have them edit the destintion table this allow for entering multiple flow data for one hydrant thus keeping old readings. So, I guess where I am confused is in the creation of the new table that will be edited to, or the destination table. Because our sde default is versioned and has replication I was jsut going to use the Global ID field as my PK. So to do this do i just create a new table and import my schema from my hydrants layer or do I want to import all data into the new table that way Global ID field is populated with the Global Id from my Hydrants FC. and that would be my FK in the destination table. Then my last question is if I get this succesfully set up how do I get the table to be the one that is edited when they click on the hydrant in the map instead of the actual hydrant FC. I am putting together my first story map tour. I am using pictures of our current projects around the county. I am hosting them on flickr and adding them to my map that way. I can't seem to get the call out text box to display my photo descritptions that I type in. So whne you click on a photo and it zooms into the project site the call out text box still diaplays the default "Move me around or change my color". How do I get rid of that and have my project info displayed instead. ... View more

So I want to start using collector to capture new water and sewerline developement along with any new addition i.e. valves,manholes ect. My issue / question is that our default sde DB has geometric networks. And I know that collector doesn't support geometric networks. Is it possible to have a replica of our main (default) DB without the geometric network so that can be used for data collection then have the data check back in to our default which has the geometric network? ... So. We have multiple different polygon layers that were either digitized or copied to our parcel layer, which we receive from our auditors office. The polygon layers are our water and sewer tap records, and easements. These layers are linked to pdf documents that our employees access frequently. The issue is that a couple years back our Auditors office did a parcel fabric which moved/shifted the geometry / location of the parcels that our tap records and easements were originally digitized or copied to. So, now all our tap records and easements are not lined up on their respected parcel anymore. they are way off. I guess my question is, is there a geoprocessing tool or script that I can run that will allow me to move our tap and easement records back to their respected parcel. We have about 15,000 tap records that need to be corrected. So I do not want to have to go to each parcel and manually move the existing record back on top of their respected parcel. Is collector going to support geometric networks in the future?(if it doesn't already) It works OK with our point data collection and update that is not part of our geometric networks. But I want to have our project managers and inspectors to be able to create and edit new and existing waterline and sewerline projects but last time I checked collector doesn't do geometric networks.
