Is there a way to set the default toolbar that pop-ups on the right side of the app. The one that I am using the Measure toolbar pop-ups first. But I want the layers tool box to pop-up. Can I change this? Or do I have to download it then do some configuring. The reason I ask is because I have pop-ups configured in my app. And when the measure tool box is on the po-ups don't work you have to click on the layers icon and have that box open on the right side for the pop-ups to work. is this a known bug? or is this just how the app works.

We recently started a sharing program with a municipality that has there water and sewer infrastructure interconnected with ours. We have established each other as domain users in our respected networks. I am able to connect to there GIS server no problem as a user. However we ran into an issue where the number of instances were being used up and that resulted in freezing up both our maps that consume the map service and the other municipalities server. So we made each other publishers which would allow me to make a local copy so as to not have all our maps hitting their server it would instead being hitting ours. But when I try to connect to their server as a publisher I get the following error. As does the other municipality when he tries to connect as a publisher to ours. We were unable to connect to: http://theirserver/arcgis Error: Proxy server got bad address from remote server (verify their server is running) So why do I get this message when trying to connect as publisher. But I can connect just fine when connecting as a user

So I discovered that you can only move layers up or down in AGO if your layers come from the same source. So since my one map has all layers hitting my dmz I can move layers up or down. But if I add a layer that I uploaded to AGO to my map I cannot move that layer. Is this a bug? or just how AGO works

Is it not possible to move your layers up or down in AGO if they are not hosted by ago. I have several services hosted on our dmz that I have added to a map in ago. However it does not allow me to arrange them in the TOC. But I have a map with shapefiles that I uploaded to ago and I am able to move them just fine.

Jake Then I must be doing something wrong. Because when I view my application when I click on the layers icon it pops up but only shows the name of my map service. I don't get that option to turn all my layers on or off. For example. I have water lines sewer lines pump stations meters etc. Those individual layers don't show up in the layers list. The only thing that shows is the name of the map service. So my only option is to turn all layers on or off

Kylie Thanks for your help. Our default base map is set up so that our "streets" basemap. (One that I made of just our county streets. I did this to get around the whole LOD issue that esri has with its basemaps) I created a group called "basemaps" and I have that set as my Basemap Gallery. in the settings. I also checked "share the esri default basemaps to this group". I have had no issues opening this default basemap using AGO. and using the explorer for iPads. So not sure why the app for android won't allow maps to open with this default basemap.

Kylie what exactly does a valid basemap entail. The current basemaps I have set up for our organization works perfectly fine with explorer for iPad. So I am not sure what is considered valid or invalid. Basically I am using esri's base maps with one I created which is just a streets layer of our county that we operate in.

So I am trying to use explorer on my android. But I haven't had much success. I am trying to log in and all it does is say failed to load map signing you out. I have no problem logging in and opening the same maps on my iPad. Is there a trick to it that I don't know about. I make sure that I go to "other sign in options" and type our organizations url. But I have had no luck getting signed in. Which is a bummer because I really want to try it out. Any ideas why I can't log in?

Jake/Xander Thanks guys for your help. I just ended up exporting the layer to dbf and made the changes in excel and then rejoined back to the layer in ArcMap and did a field calculation. Much easier for me that way. But just wanted to say thanks for your help and suggestions. Trying to get backslashes changed to forward slashes is still a little beyond my skill set with python.

Xander Thanks for your time and help. Excuse my ignorance, but I have just a little experience in python. So I want to do this on a field in one of our layers that contains these file path to be used to access links through our web maps. Is it still possible to use the method you showed above. And do I do it inside python in arcmap from the geoprocessing toolbar. Thanks again for your help.

Jake would you possibly know how I would use python to replace "\" with "/" this occurrence happens in the middle of the links string. So for example: V:\folder\folder\filename I was able to get the "\" replaced up to the last one by using the replace function in arcmap by doing this: !LINKS!.replace("\foldername" , "/foldername") However when i try to replace the text ending in the backslash it errors out. For example: !LINKS!.replace("foldername\" , "foldername/") Any suggestion would be great help. Thanks.
