If you do not have a dedicated video card with a GPU it will have to simulate one and it eats ram like crazy.  I was getting frustrated with Pro being so slow on my box, sometimes unusable.  Then I tested Pro out on a coworkers personal gaming machine.  Machine has 64 GB of ram and a really nice video card with 6 GB of its own ram.  Pro was so fast it was almost hard to use since you would zoom right past stuff.  It really flies with a good card and it really changed my view of Pro. Can you please make sure we can set the specific directory as well.  Not forced to a directory named Collector or anything like that.  This is so I can point both my apps to the same location.  I do this for Survey123 now and it works great.  (BTW Survey123 has let me pick any dir for tpks for some time now - look at how they did it.) All our tablets are Android 6 now so I guess we have to wait.  For our app we had to program in a way to pick the actual dir to use since in v6 the card is named by the serial number.  So for example /storage/3876-5345/dir/tpks  There is no way to know the card name in advance.  But in the end it was nice to have it so flexible.  Please just give us a dir pick box to set the location. Also please make sure it can read ALL tpks in the spot even if they are buried in subdirs.  That way I can organize them better and use my current app structure. One last idea.  Allow the tpks to be unzipped as well.  We have found that this really speeds up larger caches - like for imagery.  As listed in my previous post I have over 100 tpks on my tablets now - some up to 9 GB.  Have been using them for 3 years now and learned a lot about them.  SD Card has always worked great.  I have noticed that SD Cards rated at 80 MB/S or higher work the best in newer tablets. As far as the TPKs themselves I still have 5 open bugs on the building tools (Create Map package, Export tile cache, etc) that have been open for 2 years now - even after being escalated.  Getting these to work right is critical.  Thanks a lot! ... I used the Layer 3D tool then scene layer package did work so thanks for that.  I got it published and i could see feature briefly then they disappear.  I have had that happen before and i fixed by setting layer to On the ground.  Did that and republished.  Now i can see nothing at all.  The layer is there and all but just nothing on the map. I should have said Web Mercator - it is already. I will see on sending the data is is a little big and a bit sensitive data.  Its in sde now. It is not Mutipatch just regular old polygons.  I had forgot to mention that.  I just want the layer to display in scene with attributes.  The layer itself is not 3D.  How do you use a regular large polygon layer in scene? ... The data is in Web Mercator already. I can never get it to be called a scene layer on AGO.  Always says feature service. Yes to AGO using Pro. Share tab then Web Layer or right click share as web layer.  Also tried layer package.  It says scene layer in the help but I have never seen the word scene on any menu at all. If I run Create Scene layer package then Pro crashes.  1.3 and 1.4 both crash. Also tried the publish from hosted layer option but it never gives that option in the AGO page. Thanks! ... View more

Sounds like you are publishing a service.  If you want a cache of labels build a tile package using Create Map Tile package.  I have done this with labels.  You can also do this with vector tiles if you are going to use it online.   ... View more

Any suggestions when you have more than 2000 features in a HFS?  It will not let me use it in a scene. I tried scene layers for hours but they never work.  Help seems to be from 1.2 so maybe that is why. The vector tiles work great but no attributes.  Even just one attribute would be nice.  I can burn in labels but then can not turn them off.  (can not turn the whole layer off either). Andy - Since you are the only one I know making vector tiles maybe you know this.   Have to found any way to have attributes at all?  Even just one attribute.  This blog post talks about changing the spot elevation response.  Esri Vector Basemaps: Updated Data and New Creative Style | ArcGIS Blog   But I see no way to do this for other layers. Some map services let you point to a feature service when clicked.  This concept would be cool for vector tiles. I also had an idea that if it can have 1 attribute as the blog post says that attribute could be a global id.  That global id would be used to build a query url into a HFS - returning the attributes in a pop up. I have had luck burning in labels to the vtpk.   My main issue has been when using a scene in AGO.  The vector tiles are fast but no attributes.  A HFS can not be used if there are more than 2000 features. thanks for any hints ... have you looked to see if collector lets you see downloaded areas as a tpk in the file system?  If so you could point Survey123 to it in settings.  That is what I do for my custom app - but all our tpks are prebuilt. ... View more
