This may look a bit familiar but I am not sure about a few things. I want to investigate the possible relationship between crime incidents and some environmental variables such as the: Distance to roads, distance to residential areas, land use and population density. Note that the Dependent variable is a count/discrete data (crime incident points) and all the explanatory variables are rasters and continuous variables (land use is categorical, which I intend to include using the dummy variable route). 1. I intend to convert all the rasters including the land use raster to points. Is this really okay? 2. Can I use the raw crime data (without aggregating to a polygon such as fishnet, hexagon, etc) in Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) to assess the relationship as explained above. Or must I aggregate into some kind of polygon for it to work? 3. I was also looking at Forest-based classification... what do you think? Kindly offer your thoughts, please.

I think Raster Domain 3D tool can do it. It outputs a polygon/line geometry of the input raster.

Dear Eric, I am happy you chose to answer my question. I have enthusiastically watched your videos on EBK both in 2D and 3D. If I did understand your explanation, among others, it follows that if I need to disentangle the coefficients in EBK as can be done in GWR, it is both impossible and reliable. So, there is really no way of knowing what variables are playing what magnitude of roles in the prediction of the new value. GWR would of course let me know the variables and their magnitude that are relevant in a particular local area according to the chosen bandwidth. Let me seize this opportunity to ask you if there is EBKRP in 3D capable of utilizing multiple variable rasters in predicting a new value, like it's done in 2D? That would be fantastic anyway. Or any related tool? Maybe I will need to add in 'ArcGIS ideas' that multivariate EBK 3D should have more than EBK algorithm for interpolation. I think EBK alone is too restrictive. Thanks a lot. Regards,

Dear Philip, I have to state that I am not sure I did fully understood what exactly you're doing but it sounds like this may apply. If you have all your dataset as rasters, you can organize them into dates, looking much like time series. Mask out areas of no interest as no data. Convert the data into multidimensional raster data. Try to do a change detection using the time series rasters you have compiled. Also, obtain a trend raster from the workflow...which will likely indicate if LST has been negative, constant or positive over time and space. Hope this helps. Elijah.

I need to investigate the relationship between Air Qaulity parameter (Co2) and certain meteorological and traffic-related variables such temperature, number of vehicles, road width, elevation, etc. I know both GWR and EBKR can do it while accounting for possible spatial non-stationarity in the variables' relationship. But what could be the difference between these tools in an analysis like this where EBKR will produce a prediction map based on a combination the variables and the GWR will produce intercept and variable coefficient rasters showing the magnitude and direction of the relationship between the predicted and the predictor variables. Again, is 19 sample points too small for GWR Thanks

I guess this task should be simple but I haven't got it right no matter what I do. I have a table with 4 attribute fields: Lat, Long, Date and Temperature. The date is weekly and for 3 years, so I want to create a netcdf kind of file with the date as the dimension. I needed it to be capable of displaying just like normal CRU temperature data, that can also be used for voxel or multidimensional analysis I will appreciate any suggestion on how exactly I can achieve this. Specific step by step suggestion would be very helpful as I have tried following what looks like a simple workflow in 'Table to Netcdf' tool in arcgis. Also, if you can make or point me to any video, that would be very powerful. Thanks.

Hi Kachan, You're definitely in the right place. Try your hands on the existing numerous tutorials, watch the videos and follow along with the courses, ask specific question and you will quickly be just there. GIS in interesting as you may have found out already.

Each time I offset this raster layer to the level of the multipatch, the area of the raster that intersects with the multipatch gets swallowed up. But I need the raster to show at all levels. The raster is a contamination surface within a lithology, so I want to show this contamination at different depths See image A (raster showing well when not in contact with multipatch layer) and image B (raster section swallowed up when in contact with multipatch). I have used tweaked depth priority tool but it's not working yet. Please, what else can I do?

Unfortunately, this website has not been updated with the latest 3D sample tools as shown in ESRI UC 2020. For instance, the tool for block diagram and other are not there yet. Will be good to get it updated..

I filtered this voxel based on a certain value range. Is there anyway to calculate the volume of the filtered part as in B? A shows the entire volume, and B the value-filtered part. Thanks in advance

As a student, I am using a 10.7.1 version of ArcGIS student (Eva) copy. For some time now, I have had to deauthorize /authorize my software. But I need to do it again since my laptop is just not working yet. Am afraid I may exceed this number of times I can do this. Any idea how I can check this? Thanks in advance/

I was wondering if it's at all possible to make a 3D layer overly/stacking with all the dimensions shown without the usual dimensions as it always appears in Arcscene. I don't mind whether it's in Arcscne or ArcGIS Pro Below is a sample of what I need to achieve using raster or polygon layers.
