If walk doesn't go into mxd's, then wouldn't they particularly useless? Would be nice if they removed the "auto filter" that blocks the .lyr, .mxd, etc files.  Should be able to report it as well as other .extention files. Have not tried this, so don't know if it would work, but you might try to MakeXYeventLayer http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//00170000006z000000 . Like I said, not tried in python, but in ArcGIS, this lets you select the x/y fields from a table, and creates a point event theme from it and carries all the attributes in the original table itself. Don't know if this is related, but I had issues trying to check out the sa extention in the past.  No errors, just didn't  do the work. Saw online (don't remember if it was post or help pages) that once arcpy is imported, the license level can't be set, and I needed my Info license to utilize sa. So, I did the following and it worked fine: import arcinfo import arcpy then the rest of your imports and code. Guess I'm used to seeing Layer as a reference to the layer object (can be pointed to inside a layer file (just a pointer)), so not sure if that is supposed to list .lyr files, or just layers themselves (as when running in ArcMap).  As far as Map, I don't see any definition/explanation about what that is supposed to be.  Everywhere else in the docs, the refer to a map document/mxd.  Seems like they need to include some definitions in the documentation to clarify.  they give valid raster types and valid feature types, why not valid all types?? So if they are actually referring to *.lyr and *.mxd files as a datatype rather than a pointer file, then you are correct, they do not report these.  I guess in any case you are correct, as these types of files appear to be ignored by da.walk.  In any case, it seems like an oversight.  If it reports .dwg, .shp, .txt, .jpg, .etc., one would think it would easily report .lyr and .mxd as well. Curious as to what documentation you looked at.  I looked here http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//018w00000023000000 and don't even see the mention of mxd, lyr, or mpk anywhere on the page. Not sure why you would want a separate mxd, but do you also want to duplicate the data for each one as well? Have you made any customizations to your FV app?  I can't reproduce your issue. If I put some services in there that take a long time to load, it just takes longer to load my FV app, but the order in the TOC remains the same. Perhaps someone else has experienced this issue and can help. R_ What version of FV and TOC widget are you using?  What "type" of layers are you loading? When I changed the AADT in the selectLayer to flayer, it gave me an error of "flayer does not exist". I think that's because I don't think I made the AADT layer named flayer, flayer was assigned to listlayers. Maybe, it gave me that error because I am running it inside the mxd with the layers it needs. I did put in the MakeFeatureLayer_management above the SelectLayers. But my result was the same. I only have 524 missing records and it is finding 878. If you are running inside ArcMap, that explains how you can select on a feature class, ArcMap automatically reports it as a featurelayer to python so the MakeFeatureLayer is not needed unless you plan on running this as standalone outside ArcMap. It looks to me that flayer is assigned to ListLayers with filter on  layer name = AADT.  So, if there is actually a layer named AADT in the TOC, it should be assigned to the flayer variable Also, your matched = set(FList) & set(AList) will give you the values that occur in both lists, but no way to tell which list it is coming from.  So, potentially, you are trying to select something from flayer that only occurs in alayer..... Here is how I access the 32 bit (being that I installed ArcGIS desktop (32 bit) and AGS Server (64 bit) on same computer. If I am running a scheduled script or one spawned from another, I use this code in a batch file: cd C:\Python27\ArcGIS10.1 Python C:\arcgisserver\python\buildings.py Exit However, to run in a 32 bit IDE, I made a shortcut with the follwing info [ATTACH=CONFIG]24732[/ATTACH], double click on it, and opens IDE in 32 bit (as you can see in the info at the top of the IDE). I have gotten very few scripts to actually run correctly in the 64 bit window. Also, I am finding many bugs introduced in the 10.1 arcpy so, if you have the ability, you might try your code in the 10.0 version and see if you've found another bug.... R_ Also, not sure in this case, but a lot of ArcGIS tools use the raster extention to determine the file type.  without an extention (as in your data), and not in a FGDB, most ArcTools will assume that is a GRID dataset.  If not, perhaps this is causing an issue? Please how can i handle the issue of schema Lock? This schema lock issue is really getting on my nerves. Best way I have found is to have each script spawned in a separate python process.  So, I have code similar to the following as my main "control" script: import os buildings = r"C:\arcgisserver\python\buildings.bat" mapping = r"C:\arcgisserver\python\mapping.bat" MRs = r"C:\arcgisserver\python\MRs.bat" finish = r"C:\arcgisserver\python\finish.bat" os.system(mapping) os.system(buildings) os.system(MRs) os.system(finish) Then, the respective .bat files would be similar to: cd C:\Python27\ArcGIS10.1 Python C:\arcgisserver\python\buildings.py Exit This way, a sepratate python process is spawned to run each script.  When it hits the "Exit" in the batch file, it closes that python process and releases ALL lock files.  then it moves on to the next script.
