An update, I tried generating the same report without sorting the table on the Beta Website. All reports have the same data in the title - the downloaded reports all use the data of the first item in the table.

Since 3.12 -ish generated reports have not correctly produced titles using the selected date field. This does not matter if using .doc or .pdf format for deliverable. I have set up the report name to include a date field (todays_date) and verified this is the correct name of the field, so that each report would have a unique name. This has worked until version 3.12.??? I normally remove the OID field added by default since the date is more important to my clients. See the attachment showing the report settings from S123 Beta website. Once I move the ZIP file to the proper location and extract the individual files, all reports have the same date but the OID has been added to make each report name unique. All reports have the date of the first report in the attribute table on the website. I am sorting the table by ${todays_date} prior to selecting reports to download. hmmmm. See the Report ExtractResults.jpg attached. Is there something that has changed recently in Reports on the Beta Website? Is there something I am now missing in the setup? Is there a work-around beside manually correcting the date and deleting the OID of the report name? I have several projects generating daily reports so this has gotten much more time consuming than originally expected.

Is there any progress on these challenges? 1 - I still cannot create a PDF formatted report from the Beta website. Now when I click "Generate" with the PDF option selected it spins for a bit the just quits - nothing happens, no error message, no new window, no reports 2 - I still get all .docx reports with the same date in the name instead of dates from the individual surveys. I have included a screenshot of the report setup on the Beta website and a screenshot of the folder after unzipping the generated file

There may be other ways to do what you ask but what I have used is only available in the Reporting features. I have no questions or field in the Survey itself to report this information. I created a report template in MS Word with the following references to the project form: Submitted By: ${Creator} Submitted Time: ${CreationDate | format:"MM/DD/YYYY h:mm A"} These are hidden fields and cannot be modified by the user. The "Creator" is actually the user logged into Survey123 so this can be circumvented but none of my users know this nor know that I can track who created the survey. CREATOR and CREATIONDATE are both Reserved Words in Survey123 I also created CREATOR and CREATIONDATE fields in the database to record the information when the Survey123 form is initially opened I hope this helps. I have left out details about creating MS Word document assuming you know something about MS Word and I have left out details about the Survey123 Reporting website assuming you know about reporting and templates. I can provide guidance or ESRI Survey123 blog posts if needed.

I selected 12 reports, or 16 reports, or any number more than 1 report, the names of the reports do not match what I typed in the report name field. I back out the OID automatically populated and provide the project name and the field ${todays_date}. What I get is the date of the first survey for every separate report plus the OID. Since the date is not unique I understand why the OID is included but why is it not populating each report with the correct date? This had been working properly prior to the latest Beta site update. The survey and the report template have been in use over a year with no modifications to the form or the report template.

Progress is being made apparently... I was able to download reports in .DOC format today but still no .PDF - still get the error ConverToPDF failed. Something new has happened that may be related. I selected 12 reports or 16 reports, or any number more than 1 report, the names of the reports do not match what I typed in the report name field. I back out the OID automatically populated and provide the field ${todays_date}. What I get is the date of the first survey for every separate report plus the OID. Since the date is not unique I understand why the OID is included but why is it not populating each report with the correct date? This is a separate but related concern so I will be posting this as a new topic also.

Any progress on fixing this bug? If not fixed, is there a work-around? This is an issue when using ArcGIS Online, does the same thing happen with the Enterprise Portal version?

Good afternoon James, I have tried exporting the reports, as a group and singly, but Word versions do not download either. I think I said in the original message that I tried downloading previously successful reports that do not download now – with the same error message. I have been using the same Survey123 form for more than 6 months and the same template. The only thing that has changed has been the version of Connect and the version of the Survey123 website. Thanks for responding. I look forward to discovering and fixing the problem to downloading the reports.

I am trying to export reports for field captured data including images but getting a report of failure. This failed yesterday also but I did not have time to research the problem. Today I upgraded to the 3.13 Survey123 Beta website and go the same error as yesterday using the 3.12 Beta website.. Two screenshots attached - Survey123 Failure to export report is the first screen shown in the Report task pane after the failure. The second screenshot is the popup response to clicking on More Details. My process - I selected the surveys I want to export then click Report. I verify that it will be using the appropriate template and accept that it will split the reports into separate documents. I modify the name of the reports to the name shown next to the red circled X at the top of the first report screenshot. I verify that it will be saving a copy to the correct folder in my organization and that it will produce PDF documents the click Generate. I have tried generating one (1) report with same error message. I tried creating the reporte as a word doc, still same error message Additional information. I cannot print any reports for last week so I went back and selected two reports that downloaded the previous week. They do not download either - same error messages. Update: Connected to the newest release of the Survey123 website and attempted to download 6 reports. Still failed to produce any reports. See the attached for error message - different than previous screenshots: Suggestions on getting my reports to download would be appreciated. Leonard

Good afternoon Tyler, Yes it is possible using the calculate field. A sample of one I currently use for inspections is shown in the attached Future Inspection screenshot.JPG file. The attached Excel file is an excerpt from my project that generates the form behind the above screenshot. The calculate type is basically a hidden row so no one will see it anyway. I have a long formula in the Calculation field since the user will pick from different future inspection dates. Also, the "null" entries in the bind::esri:fieldType field prevent this information form being entered in the database. The Previous Inspection Date is for information only - helps the field user determine what the previous inspection frequency might have been but the frequency is usually determined by other factors discovered during the inspection. I hope this all makes sense and helps to answer your question.

I have a manhole inspection form created that currently uses the IPad camara to capture many images during the inspection. This required manned entry into the manhole to capture all details. I would like to use a GoPro Max camera on an extendable pole to do the surveys without having to physically enter the structure. Has anyone tried directly connecting Survey123 to the GoPro to capture images? I know that the GoPro initially stores the images on the GoPro device. Can Survey123 "link" to this image to capture the automated name created by GoPro in Survey123 then pull the images into Survey123 after the images are downloaded to other storage locations? Maybe a javascript or python code would be required after download but I can see needing an image name captured from GoPro in Survey123 before this would work. Any suggestions on how this can be done would be greatly appreciated.

Would it be better if the user was notified at the start of the form to save time and prevent the user from completing the form only to find out at submission that he/she was in the wrong place? Visualizing the boundary as defined above is an option but a warning message would get the users attention. Could this be applied differently by installing the boundary map on the device as if offline then have the Survey form check the boundary before completing the form - maybe triggered when the user checks the date or time at the start of the form?

The second solution did the trick ... ${StrucDetail} != 'JCT' Using this format is preferred for select_one queries? I have been using the selected... You can also see the use of parens in the begin group relevant field matched my use of parens in the errant statement. Does the "not equal" expression change how parens should be used? I am just trying to understand the use of parens - this is a constant problem trying to guess when the close parens is after the name field and when it should be after the parameter. Thanks for your time

This question was brought up in 2017, is the use of "not equal" still not acceptable in the Relevant field? I have the statement selected(${StrucDetail} != 'JCT') that generates an error message when the XLSForm is saved: "Error evaluating field 'StrucDiam': The problem is located in Relevant expression for S{StrucDiam} ... cannot handle function 'selected' requires 2 arguments ... There is a long list of Choices for the StrucDetail select_one STRUCTYP and this is the only one not needing a diameter . Suggestions please
