To my knowledge, that is not going to be possible. I also just installed 10.9.1. You can configure email with Portal, where if a user forgets their password, they can reset it. They will receive an auto email from your Portal to reset it. However, they MUST answer their security question. I'm going to argue that having security questions does not defeat the purpose of anything. Security questions are designed to be remembered easily. If a user cannot remember their own security question (for example, the city they are born), then I think you might have some bigger problems with your users. And to my knowledge, there is not a way to ask the user to change their password upon logging in for the first time like AGOL. What you might be able to do is set their password upon creating their account, then immediately resetting their password and sending that to them. Then, it should ask them to set a new password (that's how it works with 10.6.1, haven't confirmed with 10.9.1).

Have you tried closing all of the other connections to the DB and trying again? It will fail if other users are connected. You might have to kill all the connections directly through SSMS.

Yikes, Esri designated that as "low." How can Esri release a "new" map viewer that they are showing off and making it sound like we should switch over to it when they don't even match the existing functionality in their existing map viewer? If Esri is going to release a new product that replaces an existing one, there at least needs to be feature parity at release. It's like ArcGIS Pro all over again. Encouraging everyone to migrate to Pro when it doesn't even have feature parity with ArcMap, and having to wait years for that to happen.

Wow, I did not realize that the map viewer does not include related table support. I was just able to replicate that in our dev 10.9.1 environment (we're still using 10.6.1 for production). How does Esri leave out such critical (not to mention basic) functionality? I understand that classic still exists in Enterprise, but related table is basic functionality that I would expect to exist in the new map viewer. https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/10.9.1/use/limitations-and-compatibility-mv.htm

I just setup ArcGIS Monitor ArcSOC Optimizer yesterday and went through the same thing. You need to create ArcGIS Monitor credentials. I attached a screenshot that should help you.

I am having an issue installing ArcGIS Monitor. I am able to install it, but the post-installation is not working. I configure the settings for the post install and click "Run Post Install." After a few seconds, the box closes with no messages. If I look in Windows Services, it does not create an ArcGIS Monitor service. The account that I am running the post-install as is an admin account. If I look in event viewer, there are two errors: Application error and .Net Runtime Error. That is all that I have to go off of. I can't find any other logs or error messages that tells me what is wrong, and the event viewer logs don't give me enough information to be able to figure out what the issue is. I attached a screenshot of both event viewer logs. Any ideas on what could be the issue?

All of your hosted feature services you published are in there as tables/views. So, if you publish a parcel table as a hosted feature service, that will show up as a table in the ArcGIS Data Store in the PostgreSQL database. With that being said, you can't just go in and create/delete tables (well, you could, but Esri wouldn't recognize them). All of the interactions you do with the tables needs to be through Esri. Although, editing data directly through the DB should be fine, in theory. Doing anything with the data store outside of Esri is still a risk though.

All the ArcGIS Data Store is is a PostgreSQL database. You can connect to it through PGAdmin or any other PostgreSQL tool. From there, you can query the tables, monitor sizes, etc. like any other PostgreSQL database. As far as backups, you can manage the backups through Esri here using the backupdatastore command: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/data-store/latest/install/windows/data-store-utility-reference.htm

I've personally never compressed the EGDB before upgrading it. I'm not aware of any bugs or documentation that says you should, although I suppose it wouldn't hurt to do a full compress before the upgrade. I'm not sure if you could expect to see better performance during the upgrade process or not if you compress first.

For what it's worth, the export does work correctly with PDFs, although that doesn't do me much good since I need a picture format. I also tried this on multiple computers, one with ArcGIS Pro 2.7, and one with the latest release. Also, it seems to more of an issue with large format exports (for example, 48 x 36). It seems to work correctly at small sizes. Finally, it seems to work correctly when using the native coordinate system (web mercator), even at large sizes. But if I change the data frame coordinate system to be Robinson, that is when it no longer exports out some of the colors. Yes, it is publicly accessible. https://tiles.arcgis.com/tiles/RS8mqPfEEjgYh6uG/arcgis/rest/services/flight_routes/MapServer I was able to retrieve the underlying data and re-create the map myself and export it correctly with color, so it's not too big of a deal. I was just curious if anyone else had this issue.

I am currently using ArcGIS Pro to export a map (Export Layout). The data is pulling from a tile cache in AGOL. The tile cache is in full color, but when I export the map, only portions of the map are in color, and the rest are in black and white. And there is a clear delineation where the transition happens. I have tried exporting in multiple image formats, and all have this issue. Does anyone know why it does this, and how to fix it? I attached an example screenshot.

Currently (to my knowledge), there no easy way to upgrade or migrate an older Survey123 Connect Excel form from an older version of S123 to the most recent version. There have been some releases of S123 Connect that significantly change not only the look, but also the schema/functionality of the Excel S123 form in Connect. Currently, the only way to "upgrade" the form is to manually copy and paste the values in the Excel form from the old version of the form to the new version of the form. This is a slow and tedious process because Esri sometimes changes the column ordering, so you can't copy and paste row by row. You have to copy and paste column by column. I would like to see some functionality that would allow users to upgrade an existing form from an older version of the Survey123 form to a new version. Or alternatively, migrate an older version of the form to a new version.

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it! We're doing a full migration, so our GIS and DB servers will all be migrated at one time. We won't have any VPN tunnels linking AWS GIS to on-prem DB. We know that latency would probably be a nightmare. Since everything is being migrated, all hostnames, DB servers, etc. will be staying the same, so I'm thinking there won't be any FQDN or registered data source issues. I'm not aware of any modifications that will need to be made (besides the DNS pointing to AWS instead of on-prem, but that's beyond my scope of responsibilities). We considered WebGISDR, but it's kind of our backup method in case list-and-shift doesn't work. The lift-and-shift method is a little more straight forward for us to use. Anyway, thank you for your response! I was just making sure we aren't setting ourselves up for failure, and I'm glad to hear that other people have used this migration strategy before.
