Yeah, we did implement the lift and shift approach. I'm only the GIS Server Admin, not the IT admin, so there was a lot of other stuff happening behind the scenes that I wasn't involved with or aware of. But the lift and shift approach did work successfully for us with no issues. I wasn't the one who was configuring our AWS environment, moving the VMs, etc. I just verified that everything worked after it was done.

Yeah, I figured this was a pretty rare issue that not many people would be familiar with, but thought I'd ask. As far as our environment, this is a fresh install of 10.9.1 and the only interaction being done with the service (outside of writing S123 submissions into it) is reading from it. As far as the history of the form, we have been able to add a field to same form/service one time in the past with no issues. Then, it suddenly caused issues this time. I forgot to say in my previous message, but sharing the forms publicly isn't something I'm too comfortable doing, but I can share them directly with Esri support if I need to (but I appreciate your suggestion and offer at looking at it!). I'll open a case with Esri and see what they say. In the meantime, I was just curious if anyone else had seen this issue before.

I'm not sure what version Connect was when it was originally published, but now, it is 3.17.54. This has happened on two specific surveys that I have tried to update, although I'm afraid it could happen to others. It's one of those situations where I won't know until I try. But, I was able to publish a brand new survey using the same xlsform and it worked fine. I was even able to add a field to it. I plan on submitting a support case, just wanted to see if anyone else here has experienced that problem.

I am having a problem updating a couple of my Survey123 forms. The original S123 form was published a few months ago. Today, I tried adding a new text question/field to the survey. When republishing it in S123 Connect, it gets stuck when trying to add the new field to the hosted feature service. The dialog box saying that it is adding the new field just keeps spinning and spinning. After waiting 20+ minutes, I just close out of S123 Connect because it's clear nothing is happening. When I look in server manager, I see the following error message: Error executing tool: Manage Feature Service Job ID: (some random ID): ERROR: Adding field to the table failed. Failed to execute (Manage Feature Service). Unfortunately, after doing that, it corrupts the associated hosted feature service. We get a generic error message when submitting new S123 forms and we can't create new points in the hosted feature service directly through Portal. One thing I noticed after that is that there was a record in the hosted feature service with an ObjectID of -220. There is also a corresponding error message in server manager stating that it fails to create a new record because of a duplicate key issue. This is the error message: 0 : ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "gdb_ct2_54" Detail: Key (objectid, gdb_to_date)=(-220, 9999-12-31 23:59:59) already exists. Where: SQL statement (SQL statement here) PL/pgSQL function nvv_update_54() line 11 at SQL statement. Note that the record was created after attempting to republish the form. And I am able to delete the record. After deleting, I am able to create a new record, but it gives it an ObjectID of -220 and then I can't create any new records after that until I delete it again. I was able to replicate this issue with a different, but very similar form/feature service. We're running ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1. However, I was able to publish a new S123 form (the same as the one causing issues) and add a new field to it and it was fine. Does anyone know why this issue is happening, and where/why in the world negative ObjectIDs are being created? That shouldn't even be possible.

Hmm, that looks really promising. Except, it doesn't seem to apply to feature services published directly to Portal. Only ones that you manually add through a URL. I just published a test feature service to our 10.9.1 Portal and did NOT share it (like the instructions say). When I go into the feature service settings, there is no limit usage settings. However, if I add a feature service REST URL from our other Portal, the Limit Usage section is there.

Right, but the named users with access can add it to other Portals/AGOL if they wanted to, which is what I would like to prevent. They can add it to any Portal/AGOL as long as they authenticate it against the host Portal when they add it.

In ArcGIS Enterprise, I am wondering if it is possible to prevent feature services from being used outside of the host ArcGIS Enterprise environment? For example, I publish a feature service to our ArcGIS Enterprise environment. What I am wondering is if it is possible to prevent them from taking the feature service REST endpoint URL and putting it in completely different ArcGIS Enterprise/AGOL environment? Since users have access to that REST endpoint URL, they can theoretically add it to any environment they want to as long as they have permission to access it on the host ArcGIS Enterprise environment. I was wondering if we could prevent that from happening in any way? I know there is the extreme solution of making ArcGIS Enterprise VPN access only, but didn't know if there was anything else we could do.

You're not wrong. This is exactly why there needs to be more competition in the GIS industry. Maybe companies would put more emphases on making a quality product instead of only fixing bugs in future versions, forcing you to pay for maintenance so you have access to future versions, which just introduces more bugs and thus starting the cycle all over again.

I'm sure companies have their reasons to not share their bugs with the public, I get it. But so much time could be saved if we had access to it. It's a waste of time for me to reach out to Esri support for something they are already aware of. Not to mention it's a waste of time for Esri support to spend time supporting end users when the bug has already been documented.

I'm curious on when we can expect to see this release as well. I could have sworn we were told the new ArcGIS Monitor was coming "soon" two UC's ago. Regardless, Q3/Q4 of last year has come and gone, so I'm curious on when the new ArcGIS Monitor will actually be released.

Thank you for that white paper. I have already looked at that white paper in the past and everything should be good on our end. We're running Windows Server 2019 and ArcMap 10.8.1 on an EC2 instance in AWS. This also happens with ArcGIS Pro licenses that are checked out for offline use as well. If I have a license checked out and the VM is restarted, it breaks ArcGIS Pro. Per the white paper, rebooting the instance should not break the licensing, but it does every time and I'm just trying to figure out why that is happening.

I am currently running a Windows server in AWS that utilizes an ArcMap single use license. However, after every time the server is restarted, the ArcMap license becomes "untrusted" and I have to fix it. What causes an ArcMap license to become untrusted in a situation like this? Nothing should be changing in the OS, and the IP address is static. Ideally, we'd like to know what to do so this does not keep happening as it is a major inconvenience. For additional information, we never had this problem when the server was hosted on-prem. But now that it is in AWS, anytime the server is restarted, the license becomes untrusted.
