Hi Michael, When using EOS Bluetooth RTK receiver, you can see where the RTK location is 8 decimals and the apple core location that gets fed to Collector appears to be rounded to core location 6 decimals (or approx 1 decimeter as you said 11 cm). I could be confusing the information I had discussed with the EOS developers, but it didn't sound as simple as just extending out 2 more decimals on the coding end, or they would have done it already. I think there was an issue with getting apple to white list the apps. Android didn't seem like an issue because you can allow mock locations. Then there is the question of how many decimal places is Collector actually storing? Either way, I hope the great folks at ESRI can provide some documentation in the next BETA release about how the RTK data is stored in terms of precision and decimal places, etc. Dan

This is great news. Preliminary questions: Will you be able to store Z values as an attribute? Will there be an option to adjust the elevation value stored for pole height? Can you pick a coordinate transformation, or will you have to collect points in WGS84? Can you store values besides x/y/z as attributes such as horizontal and vertical precision, pdop, timestamp, #sats etc.? Will this beta be available on android and iOs? It is my understanding that apple rounds its core location to decimeter level at best. Has this issue been resolved in collector to allow the external gnss receiver to overwrite apple's core location value to centimeter accuracy, or is that specific to the gps manufacturer and not a collector issue?

I have two (2) identical feature classes, one is in NAD_1983_StatePlane_New_York_West_FIPS_3103_Feet and one in GCS_WGS_1984. In ArcMap desktop with NO geographic coordinate system transformation assigned to my .MXD, the points line up perfectly on top of each other. When I publish the two (2) feature classes up to ArcGIS.com there is a three foot shift between all of the points. I can replicate the ArcGIS.com shift I am seeing in desktop by assigning the NAD_1983_To_WGS_1984_5 geographic coordinate system transformation. So my question: Does ArcGIS.com automatically apply the NAD_1983_To_WGS_1984_5 geographic coordinate system transformation when you publish a feature class that starts in NAD_1983?

I am trying the to overwrite an existing map service in ArcGIS.com using ArcMap10.3.1, and I get the same message error, it just sits there in eternity in "Server-side post processing". Was there ever a fix for this issue? i also checked, and the layer i am trying to overwrite does not have delete protection turned on.

Thanks for the link. I also came across that too. It is quite a bit of information to digest. I have tried a few unsuccessful models so far. This is such a common workflow (parcel notification buffer) that I was hoping someone had a similar model already built that I could learn from and modify.

Thank you Adrian. That is a good tip to publish from the results tab. I tried several model builder scenarios, but can't seem to get it to work on the desktop side first. There are so many variables to deal with. Any thoughts on what a select parcel or point/then create buffer/then select parcels that intersect buffer/then export the resulting selection to csv model should look like, I am open to suggestions.

I would like to create a geoprocessing service (server 10.3.1) to use with the geoprocessing widget in the stock ArcGIS Online hosted Web App Builder. Tool would allow the user to click on a parcel, specify a buffer distance (500 Ft), select all the parcels that intersect the buffer, and export the results to a csv. Does anyone have any sample ESRI models for publishing a GP service that would work with the WAB Geoprocessing Widget? Robert Scheitlin, GISP to the rescue?

I don't see a way to use custom widgets with the ArcGIS online version of Web AppBuilder. Is the only option using the developer edition if you want to add custom widgets? Thanks Dan

Where I am confused: Before you run the schema migration wizard, are you supposed to export your current GDB to XML? If so do you choose Schema only, or the option with the data? This is assumed but not explained in the documentation. After the model runs and spits out and updated XML, do you import that XML back into your original database, or do you import that into a new blank GDB, or a new blank GDB copy of the most current local gov GDB? This could also be extrapolated on in the documentation. Not sure if not understanding these two points is causing the empty geometry message or not.

Was this resolved at all? I too get the empty geometry message, and agree the documentation is a little sparse for a complete understanding of each step involved in the migration wizard. There is actually an ESRI Tech Document about the empty Geometry message being caused by using ArcView Basic, but that is not my case as in am using ArcEditor. http://support.esri.com/fr/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/43854 I am under a deadline for a client, so any help to get past this error message would be greatly appreciated. thanks Dan

Was this ever answered? Like above, I have multiple clients with shared folders already setup on dropbox and would like to consider putting a file geodatabase in dropbox, (or google drive or Microsoft Onedrive) that could be collaboratively edited. Has anyone tested this further and resolved the issue with lock files? Also when you save edits to a File GDB, does Dropbox sync the hundreds of random named files inside the GDB correctly, or does that corrupt it? Thanks Dan

I am also having the same problem (10.3.1) with data driven pages using a strip index where each page is a different data frame rotation. My north arrow symbol has a center anchor, but its position wanders all over the page instead of simply rotating around the center anchor point. Suggestions? Dan

To clarify, my solution was done in the absence of ArcGIS server and a true web server. And it only works on the machine the hard drive is plugged into. But for my purposes, that is all i need. Thanks Dan

Jason, I was just trying to do something similar, only to access a large store of images on an external hard drive in the AGOL pop-up. My understanding and testing is that File:/// or UNC links will not work, it has to be an http link. So I turned on IIS on my desktop machine, and mounted the external hard drive path under the inetpub/wwwroot folder. This allows for a localhost path of http://127.0.0.1:80/ExternalDriveLetter/images/xxx.jgp. so i constructed that url structure into my attributes and you can now click on the agol popup and get the local image to display in the browser. if you were doing it on your local network, the same concept would apply but it would probably be a different ip address on your local network.
