Until told otherwise, or a new update, it appears Collector just is not setup to collect high accurcay GPS data, even if you can connect to a bluetooth GPS receiver. It does not store a Z elevation even if the feature is z enabled, and it does not store PDOP, horizontal, vertical precision values typically associated with High accuracy GPS. I am hoping someone from ESRI can clarify, and or provide a status update on better support for RTK GPS in hopefully the upcoming release of Collector.

Apple's core location services rounds to the decimeter level for elevation from what i have seen using the EOS GNSS receiver. Does the Trimble App override the core Apple location feed and allow points to be stored to a lat long precision of 8 decimal places? Or does it get rounded up?

We have an Arrow 200 RTK bluetooth GPS receiver to test. Collector does not seem to know what to do with it. It collects the xy points using the Arrow RTK location just fine, but the app otherwise does not appear to fully support High Accuracy GPS receivers like the TerraGo Edge app does. I want to collect a point, and store attributes like elevation, HDOP, PDOP, Horz and vertical precision, and time stamp that come out of the Arrow RTK feed. Is there a way to do this now with Collector, or do we need to wait for a future update from ESRI? Thoughts?Jeff Shaner

I am running the same version collector as you. So if you close the collector app and kill it in task manager, turn on airplane mode, then open collector, you see maps?

Thanks Steven. I do see the "on device" drop down. However if you have your phone in airplane mode, then open collector, it just gives you a blank screen and no maps, even when you select "on device".

I have the latest Collector App on Android 5.0 on a Samsung Galaxy S5. I will be heading to a remote wilderness area with no cell service. So I figured why not create an offline map with trails and topo maps using Collector offline mode? The map downloaded to my device just fine and works great. However, when I put my phone in airplane mode (which is what it will be in on my trip to save battery life searching for a cell signal), the Collector app gives me a blank screen and wont show me any maps. It gives a pop up that says a cell or wifi signal is required. Is this a bug, or by design? If by design, it would seem to defeat the purpose of an "offline" map, if you have to open it "online" first. Thoughts?

Thank you Robert. That was just resource I needed. Any idea if passing a geocode or attribute search into the url is possible? Like open the map and search for tax it 123.00-1-1, or 123 main street?

If I have a Web AppBuilder application that is off the shelf and hosted in ArcGIS.com (not developer edition), is there a way tack on a lat/long or address to the end of the map URL, to get it to open the map at a location other than the default initial map extent? Thanks

Has anyone had any positive experiences with aftermarket screen protectors or cases to reduce sun glare using your standard Apple or Android tablets or phones? The collector for arcgis app is great, but it doesn't do any good when you can't see the screen on bright sunny days. Thoughts? Thanks.

I think the Arrow 200 by EOS is the only one that can get you survey grade with collector on ios. A client of ours just got one but we have not set it up to check against our Trimble RTK unit. http://www.eos-gnss.com/

Hi Randall, The date shows up just fine in the pop-up. When i select "create labels" it gives you a selector to pick which attribute fields to label. my date field does not show up. Dan

I have a hosted feature service in ArcGIS.com added to an ArcGIS.com web map. When I tell it to create labels, the date field from my attributes is not visible as a selection choice. Can you label the date field or only text fields? Dan
