@KyleGruber Can you provide a screenshot of how the data is formatted in the street layer, specifically the StreetName, PrefixType fields? It's likely that having the prefix types of County Road (CR), State Route, US Route (USHWY) as part of the street name field instead of parsed into the prefix type field is contributing to the types of suggestions you are getting. You can build a multirole locator that supports PointAddress, StreetAddress, Street Intersections, Street Names, Street MidBlock, but what is the goal of the locator you are trying to build? What is the purpose of getting a list of intersection suggestions?

@DanielDormont Using ArcGIS Pro was just one method of getting the layer into your org or portal, here are other methods https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/publish-features.htm. You maybe able to use query for the feature service. https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/enterprise/feature-service/ https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/enterprise/query-feature-service/

@AaronManuel2 The following help topic references the best practice for updating a locator and the geocode service. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geocoding/keep-your-locator-up-to-date.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_12AA5C7DF3B44701B13DD015F6D1BA02

The ArcGIS Geocoding service is always going to return a point location. Depending on your application, you could use a polygon feature service for searching and it would return a polygon. For example, in ArcGIS Pro you could take an admin boundary layer and configure it for search in a map, then share the map as a web map to your organization and set the search feature to the polygon service for that web map.

@TimHayes3 I believe we spoke about this, but wanted to post a response here in case someone else came across your post. In order to return the subaddress candidates as suggestions after typing the base address of "3300 Capital Ave" or "3300 Capitol", the locator must be created in ArcGIS Pro 3.0 and published to Enterprise 11.0. The only subaddress suggestions that would be available to you with a locator built in ArcGIS Pro 2.9.12 and published to Enterprise 10.9.1 is partial subaddress, which requires you to type the full base address, then part of the subaddress. The note in the share locator topic lists locator properties and the versions of ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise that they are supported in. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geocoding/share-a-locator.htm

@TimHayes3 If you rebuild the locator without the FeatureID being mapped to ADDR_KEY field, enable the base address and and subaddress summary properties, then enter the base address in the Locate pane, do you get the expected suggestions?

@AndreasB I'm surprised that you did not get a warning message after building the locator about the multipart lines. The results in your screenshot looks like a StreetAddress and StreetName candidate. If you do not wish to have StreetName candidates, disable StreetName as a supported category in the locator properties.

@Brian_Wilson It looks like you built your locator with city and zip code (location), but you are not using city and zip code when geocoding the table. When using the Locate pane it uses the center of the map as the location, while batch geocoding a table does not reference the map to get the location, the location (city, zip code) needs to be included in the input table since your locator was built with city and zip code mapped. If you launch the Rematch Addresses pane to review the unmatched addresses are you getting candidates for the unmatched addresses?

@KathrynSie , It looks like some of the names in the "Geo Place Name" field are neighborhoods or city names and this field could be mapped to the 'Address or Place' field in the Geocode Table pane. You will want to clean up the field names in the spreadsheet before attempting to geocode it, like removing spaces and replacing them with underscores. You should consider adding the following fields to the spreadsheet to help improve the geocoding results: state, city, county, zip code. If you use just the "Geo Place Name" field you will want to review the results in the Rematch Addresses pane as you may have multiple candidates with the same score and would need to take a look at the values in the Addr_type, Type, and Rank fields to help select the appropriate candidate. The smaller numbers in the Rank field represent higher-ranked features. Rank is used to sort results for ambiguous queries such as Lincoln, in which no additional information (state) is available. Rank values are based on population or feature type. You can also test out searching for the value in the "Geo Place Name" field in the Locate pane and viewing the details of the results that are returned by right-clicking a result and selecting Show Details to get an idea of the result details you would see in the Rematch Addresses pane after geocoding the table.

@Jades1 , The Project folder in your case is named "MyProject1" and within the project is the default file geodatabase which has the same name as the project "MyProject1.gdb". The file geodatabase (.gdb) shows up in Windows Explorer or File Explorer as a file folder and you won't find the feature class name listed in the geodatabase folder there. In the Catalog pane if you expand Folders item, you will see "MyProject1" as the folder and the "MyProject1.gdb" listed as well. Below are some resources for more details about file geodatabases: - https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geodatabases/overview/types-of-geodatabases.htm#GUID-8942E55D-FD88-4171-BAF3-EF44303C4D24 - https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geodatabases/overview/what-is-a-geodatabase-.htm - https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geodatabases/overview/fundamentals-of-the-geodatabase.htm What is it that you are trying to do with the "cyf_geocoding_GeocodeAddress" feature class in the "MyProject1.gdb" file geodatabase? Here is another resource to help you get started with ArcGIS Pro. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/pro-quickstart-tutorials.htm

@Nitin_Kulkarni Are you just using the REST endpoint page to test that the service is working? What value are you passing in the Out Fields parameter in the findAddressCandidates request? Are you trying to get specific fields returned? If so, then you would specify the fields you want in a comma separated list. https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/enterprise/find-address-candidates.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_E305B08842DB4F14A09E3E94375C1B5A In Pro 3.0 and Enterprise 11.0 we added "enabledOutputFields" so that the fields enabled in the output fields section of the locator properties are only returned in geocode results in client applications. This enhancement fixes the problem described in post you referenced above, Limit Geocoding Information Returned by Locate Tool in the Locate pane and in the Show Details pop-up. The "enabledOutputFields" property listed on the service description page for geocode services published to Enterprise 11.0 or later is not used in REST requests. If the service was added to Pro, the fields in the "enabledOutputFields" list would be returned for the results in the Locate pane.

@Nitin_Kulkarni Can you provide more details on how you are using the service? Are you using the geocoding operations via the REST endpoint pages or are you using the service in a web app or ArcGIS Pro? The Address and Candidates fields section of the geocode service's service description page are not tied to the Output fields section listed below in the Locator Properties dialog in ArcGIS Pro. The Candidate fields represents all of the possible fields that can be returned by the locator in the geocode result.
