Hi Kathryn, Thank you for the details! There are a couple of approaches that come to my mind based on my understanding: you would like to add coordinates attributes to fields in existing features where that coordinates information is missing. If I did not grasp this right, my suggestions probably won't be useful... so hopefully, this is on track! Option 1: ArcGIS Pro - You could access your service in ArcGIS Pro and run the Calculate Geometry geoprocessing tool against the coordinate fields you need to populate. In the tool, you will get some coordinates format options. If you don't want to overwrite existing attributes, make sure to select the features where the attribute is Null before running the tool. Be careful, this will edit your service data directly. Option 2: ArcGIS Online - Access the item details page for the feature layer you've published and go to the Data tab. In the table, click the field column you need to update and select Calculate. Choose Arcade - if you have Sync enabled on that layer, you won't be able to choose Arcade. Option 3: Smart Editor widget in Web AppBuilder - This option would be in the hands of your end-user and more in line with what you described as "the engineer could just click a button to fill the coordinate fields". In the widget configuration, make sure you've configured a Coordinate Attribute Action against the field you need to populate with coordinate attributes. Then, in the General Settings, enable the option "Show Attribute Actions update button". If you need the coordinate attributes to also update when the feature geometry is updated, also enable " Automatically call Attribute Actions after geometry update". Make sure the Smart Editor is set to open when the app loads (one less click for them, I would suggest). When the engineer will click an existing feature, if the attributes are missing, they may click the "Update dynamic feature attributes" button as shown below to trigger the Coordinate Attribute action. If " Automatically call Attribute Actions after geometry update" was enabled in the configuration, they could also simply move the point slightly to get the values or they would have to double-click the "Update dynamic feature attributes" button.

Hi Kathryn, Thank you for sharing this idea! Please would you be able to describe more on how you would like to use this widget? What is the problem you are trying to solve? Please provide as many details as possible on your use case so we can consider this capability in future development. Thank you! 🙂

Hi Jose, Are you trying to make sure a job number will not be duplicated for a new job (in other words, only allow for unique values), or are you trying to find a way to use existing job number values to link other features to a project using the job number as a key (re-use the existing job number value for other features)?

Hi Craig, We would recommend as you've mentioned, the approach to start prototyping with a File Geodatabase until you are satisfied with the data load results in your prototype.

Hi Jose, Based on your question it seems you may be able to use the option to only allow for unique values in your field? Please would you be able to provide some screenshots and more details on what you are trying to do?

The Smart Editor widget will display the templates as they were published with your service. Changes made to the symbology directly into the web map (including labels) may not be reflected in the template picker in Smart Editor as you've described. You will need to save the symbology changes against the layer or change the symbology directly in the visualization tab before adding it to your web map. Please review the reply provided here for more details on doing this: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-web-appbuilder-questions/does-symbology-derived-from-an-arcade-expression-not-display-in/m-p/235950/highlight/true#M6369

Hi Jenny, Once you've configured the widget you will be able to create and update both the feature geometry and its attributes. You can configure the Smart Editor widget to restrict what the editor is allowed to do. For example, you can disable geometry editing to prevent editors from modifying the geometry of the polygons. You can also configure which fields can be shown and which can be edited (click crayon shown with the arrow above to get configuration options below). To make it easier for your editors, make the widget open on load of the app: Then, when the editor loads the application and clicks a polygon, they will only be able to edit the field you have configured (Population, in the example below). If you have related records you would like to update, you can also update these attributes if both the feature layer and the related table are added to your web map. Is any of this in line with what you are trying to do? The option to update feature attributes directly in an attribute table experience (no clicking on features on the map) may soon be available in ArcGIS Experience Builder in the new Table widget that was added with the October 2020 release: What's new—ArcGIS Experience Builder | Documentation - stay tuned for the next update of this widget.

I'm sorry, this fix should be made available in Enterprise 10.9, but won't be available in previous versions of Enterprise. If you need this fix earlier, you can try adding the current version of the Smart Editor widget as a custom widget to your Portal: Add custom widgets—Portal for ArcGIS | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise.

Hi Pam, When setting up an intersection line or polygon against a point layer, please use the other tolerance units. Pixel tolerance will only apply for point to point intersections. This can be configured directly against the layer in the intersection attribute action or in the layer settings (in this case check the box for "Use Default Tolerance").
