Hi Michael, Thanks for providing the steps. I've reproduced the behavior, and it is a bug. I've logged it as the following defect for ArcGIS Pro: [BUG-000117960 Incorrect distance constraints applied when creating new features in the first map of a newly created Project.] Please contact us in Esri Technical Support at 888-377-4575 to have a case attached to the defect. In my testing, the issue does not occur once the project is saved > closed > re-opened. Are you not able to resolve it after closing the project? -Scott

Hi Michael, That is certainly odd behavior. Does the issue persist if you close and re-open ArcGIS Pro? Does the issue occur in a new Map in the same Project, or in a new Project altogether?

Hi Michael, To add to Dan's questions, what measurement mode are you using with the measure tool? By default, the tool uses Geodesic, but if you are using a projected coordinate system, you should use Planar. See this help document: Measure—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

Hi Duncan, Thanks for pointing that out. I tested on my end, and in that case, until the defect is fixed, you can launch the Help from the menu in ArcMap and search for the error code, ex. "000210" to get to that particular help article. I know this is not ideal, but provides a temporary workaround. -Scott

Duncan, I will keep an eye out for you. My suggestion however would be to contact Esri Technical Support and get a case attached to BUG-000117599. You should get notified when it's fixed. With this issue, however, you can still access the help for a particular tool if you search for it once the help launches.

Hi Kelly, A few more questions to add: Are you able to share a screenshot of the differences in vertices after tracing? What coordinate system are the CAD features using? What coordinate system is your polygon? What coordinate system is the map in Pro? Is it a feature class in a FGDB? What scale was the polygon created at? Approximately how large was it? Thank you! Hi Thomas, Thanks for the video! From what I can tell in the video, you are actually getting more vertices when you trace (creating a line). However, I'm not seeing any visible difference between the features. I'll look into it more though. We can also wait for Kelly to reply and answer some of the outstanding questions here. Thomas, I'm not reproducing your steps, but perhaps I'm missing something. What coordinate system are your lines and polygon? Are they both feature classes in a FGDB? What parameters did you use in the Densify tool? What scale was the polygon created at? How large was it? I know, a lot of questions, but I'd like to help get to the bottom of the issue. -Scott

Felix, I was suggesting that if you wanted to know the latest status or other information about the issue, you can contact Esri Tech Support. In Tech Support, we will attach the case to the defect, and at that point, you can track the status on My Esri. This goes for all bugs. When a number of cases are attached to defects in Support, this is relevant information for Esri. Regarding BUG-000117599: It was reported to Tech Support, we reproduced the behavior, and found it was linked to two Windows updates. That's all the information we have at this point. If we learn more about this defect, for example a workaround, we will add this information to the bug report.
