Quick question: do you have any 3rd-party add-ins installed with Pro? If so, you'll see an "Add-in" tab on the top of the ribbon like this:

Glad to hear it! Good idea with the multipart lines - even more efficient

Yes, Pete. If you want to delete your data, feel free. At the bottom of your post with the attachment, you will see an Actions button. Click that and click Edit. Once in the editor, at the bottom, there is an "x" next to the attachment that you can click to delete it.

Hi Pete, I'll have to assume when you say yes, you mean you are using 2.4.1 and Yes, there are no error reports in that location. If so, that's very odd. I'll try your suggestion of clicking sloppily Regarding the data - perhaps you can remove it from your post. I'm going to attach a test file to this comment and I'll see if I can delete it right now

Thanks for the data, Pete. I'm testing in 2.4.1, and I can't reproduce either (like Thomas below). Were you using 2.4.1 when it crashed for you? I just spoke with Kory, but he said was in touch with you regarding a different (albeit similar) crash issue that you reported here - https://community.esri.com/thread/236005-arcpro-240-editing-issue-with-sid-imagery-in-a-project That issue was fixed in 2.4.1, so I would like to confirm the version you are using. Also, after a crash, an error report file is generated in C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\ESRI\ErrorReports\ - Are you saying there is no error report in that location for you? If there are, please send the relevant one to me at [email protected] I agree with Thomas that Technical Support is a good resource for reporting issues like this - since sometimes the steps are very workflow and/or data specific. Here is contact info for Technical Support - https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support Thanks! Scott

Thanks Alena! I appreciate you taking the time to document that for me. Hopefully it will be available in a release or two. Until multipart cutting lines work in Pro, you can use the By Feature tab from within the Split tool. You will have to create a separate line feature class that you can use for creating cutting lines for cases like this. Here is a video of what I mean: Relevant documentation: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/editing/split-a-feature.htm#GUID-31BE85CE-DB6B-4677-800B-9E5344657341 Does that help? -Scott

Hi Alena, Currently in ArcGIS Pro, the "cutting line" of the Split tool doesn't create multipart lines. Are you not able to achieve a certain result because of this? Can you please provide me with an example of what you are needing to accomplish with the Split tool? I'm thinking we will need to add this ability, but I would like your feedback just the same Please let me know, Scott

Hi Scott, The others who are posting in this thread are reporting the issue with offline feature services. Is that what you're working with too? Thanks for any further info. -Scott

Hi Brandon, I tried those steps, including undoing after creating a line segment but so far, I can't seem to reproduce. Assuming you are using Arc Segment in the screenshot, it looks like you switched to the Arc Segment construction tool and somehow the first point where the curve passes through was already set somehow and that's the mystery. Which arc construction tool are you using? (Arc Segment, End Point Arc Segment, Tangent Curve Segment) Is it easy for you to reproduce? If you get into that state again, can you try hitting Escape to see if takes you back to being able to set the first point of the arc. What version of Pro are you using? Thanks for any further details! Scott

Hi Pete, I'm sorry to hear that Pro is crashing for you. I'm trying to reproduce the scenario. Here is what I've tried so far: In Pro 2.4.1, I created a line feature class and enabled GOGO on it. Created some line features. Unchecked the layer for editing in Contents > List By Editing tab. No crash. So I added more non-cogo lines and some polys and created some features. Toggled editability of all layers, including the COGO lines. No crash. Just in case, I added a Mr. Sid raster file in the map (previous crash issue resolved in 2.4.1) and tested toggling editablity for the layers and raster. Still no crash. Just in case you meant you were toggling the visibility of the layers, I tried that too. Saved the Project and closed Pro and re-opened and tried the same things. I seem to be missing something. Can you please send me the error report file that was generated after the crash? send it to [email protected]. The error report will be located in C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\ESRI\ErrorReports The date and time it was generated will be part of the file name at the end. Can you provide a screenshot of the layers you have in the map when it crashes? - perhaps the layer order matters? What panes are open in Pro when it crashes? (examples: Create Features, Modify Features, Catalog, etc) Where is the data stored? (examples: File Geodatabase stored on the local drive, or SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabase, etc.) Please let me know, Thanks! Scott

Hi Brandon, I can't reproduce, so I have some questions: Which arc construction tool are you using? Version of Pro? Can you provide a video of your workflow? This would be very helpful for us to understand If not, perhaps you can describe the exact workflow so I can try to reproduce? If not, please consider reaching out to Esri Technical Support to show them your workflow. Here's what using the Arc Segment construction tool looks like while creating similar to geometry as your screenshot: More info on these construction tools to create curves: Create circular arcs—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Create tangent circular arcs—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Please let me know, Thanks! Hi Kirsten, To get the similar functionality as Split Polygons in ArcMap - which avoids having to interactively select a target: Select the (input) lines or polys that you want to use to split the existing polygon (target) Open the Split tool > By Feature tab. The Input Features will show the selected line or poly that will be used to do the splitting. Switch to the Target Features tab. Click the "Select all intersecting features" button. Click Split. You may also benefit by turning off the editability of layers that you do not want to select and subsequently split: In the Contents pane, switch to the List By Editing tab and uncheck layers from there: Specify which layers can be edited—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Let me know if this helps, Scott

Thanks for all of that info, Craig. My hunch is the blob field is causing the error. Let me try to reproduce this scenario.
