Hi Craig, I tried to reproduce, but so far, I can't. This seems like it could be data-specific. Are you able to share some details about the data here? If not, can you please reach out to Esri Technical Support to show them? We'd like to get to the bottom of this error. Questions I have: What is the data source of each layer? (examples: a local File Geodatabase, an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service, etc). What kinds of fields are present on the data? (examples: text, date, blob, raster, globalid, guid, etc) - please try to be as specific as possible about this as it could be relevant. If you open the Create Feature pane before copying and pasting, do you still see the error? What is the specific workflow? Example: From the Edit tab, active the Select tool Select the feature From the Edit tab, Clipboard group click Copy Click the Paste drop-down and choose Paste Special. The Paste Special dialog opens and choose the template > OK. FYI - the keyboard shortcut for Paste Special is CTRL+ALT+V. Thanks for any further info to help us track it down. -Scott

Hi Bryan, Ok sorry for the confusion, I just checked your previous response. In the screenshot you provided, the error message says "Wrong type on field...." for all of your fields. What type are the Direction, Distance, Radius, and ArcLength fields? I'm fairly certain they should be of type Double. Perhaps someone created these fields manually instead of using the Enable COGO tool? On a backup of the feature class, try deleting those fields and running Enable COGO again. Thanks, Scott

Hi Bryan, Since you've already enabled COGO once, you don't need to do it again (you would only run that tool once). When you need to update the COGO values, you can run the Update COGO tool. See the documentation here: Update COGO attributes—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Does that help? Thanks! Scott

Hi Michael, Perhaps the performance issue you are seeing is related to the original reported issue? I'm not sure. This is where Esri Technical Support can help narrow things down. Keep us posted on the behavior after you've cleared the display cache, updated the GPU drivers, and toggled the rendering engine. Thank you, Scott

Hi Michael, Some questions/suggestions I have: Can you please share a screenshot from Project > Options > Display? Please try clearing the local cache from this option page. Also please try switching the rendering engine in here (from DirectX to OpenGL and vice versa). What graphics card does your system have (Manufacturer and specific model). You can find out by typing "dxdiag.exe" in windows search. Perhaps share a screenshot of the "Display 1" tab. Have you can tried updating the drivers for the graphics card from the device manufacturer? Are you using a docking station? Also, if none of the above work, please don't hesitate to reach out to Esri Technical Support so we can gather more information and troubleshoot further: https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support Thank you, Scott

Tobi, I'm trying to reproduce the scenario you describe in 2.4, but I see the drop-down for my short integer domain (using a SQL Server EGDB): Can you share some more details: RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, etc). Release of the RDBMS (ex, Microsoft SQL Server 2016 64-bit). How did you configure the Get Attributes command (perhaps share a screenshot like mine?) Does it work for another feature class? Thank you! Scott

Hi Ian, That's definitely odd behavior that I haven't seen before. You can try updating the drivers for the video card from the device manufacturer, and if that doesn't work, perhaps reach out to Esri Technical Support for some assistance: https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support Thanks, Scott

Hi Ian, One way that I think this could occur... the features are symbolized with Unique Values and feature are being created with a default value that doesn't have the symbol class defined yet. Is this the case? Another question: What is the source of the data (File Geodatabase, Enterprise Geodatabase, Shapefile)? Thanks, Scott

Hi David, It sounds like you are trying to merge features from different layers. The Merge tool on the Edit tab can only merge features from the same layer. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/editing/merge-features-into-one-feature.htm Perhaps you want to use the Merge or the Merge Layers geoprocessing tools: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/data-management/merge.htm https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/feature-analysis/merge-layers.htm Or the copy and paste special workflow: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/editing/copy-and-paste-using-the-clipboard.htm Let me know. Thanks! Scott

Hi Aimee, This is something that is part of the development work for 2.5. For now, my suggestion for creating curved annotation that follows a feature (note: there are probably a few approaches): Create curved annotation, and make sure the baseline extends a bit beyond the text. Switch to the Annotation edit tool and right-click on the feature you want to follow and choose "Follow this feature". The annotation will curve and follow the feature. At this point you can drag the annotation along to feature to place it where it needs to go. Here is a video of the above steps: I hope this helps. Thanks! -Scott

Hi David, I see your update that the issue is data-specific. If you find that you can reproduce the issue, please reach out to Esri Technical Support and share the data so we can investigate further. Contact info for Esri Support - https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support Alternative to that, please provide the steps here, and if we can reproduce without the specific data, I can investigate further. Thanks, Scott

Hi Linda, From the screenshot, I can tell your map is not in GCS North American 1983. It's in WGS 1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere. Please try setting the Map's coordinate system to match the data you are editing - GCS North American 1983. Specify a coordinate system—Properties of maps | ArcGIS Desktop

Hi Linda, I created similar data in GCS North American 1983 in a Map that is also in GCS North American 1983. I then used the Merge tool (Edit tab), but I'm not reproducing the issue in 2.3 or 2.4. It seems that this could happen if the data was being projected on the fly based on my testing. Can you please send a screenshot of the following: Map properties > Coordinate Systems section > Expand layers > Expand the current coordinate system to show all layers. I'm assuming the layer name will show up there "WCA_WTF" Please let me know, thank you! -Scott

Hi Linda, I have a few questions: What coordinate system is the data in? What coordinate system is the Map in? I'm assuming those circles are made of curves and not densified with lots of vertices, but can you please show us the vertices of one of the problem circles? (Edit tab > Modify > Reshape group > Vertices > select one of the problem circle features and take a screenshot). Please let me know. Thanks! -Scott

Hi Michael, My best guess at what is going on... You open the Explode tool and it asks you to make a selection: "Select one or more multipart features" You select the multipart feature and click the Explode button. At that point, the Explode tool is still active and you attempt to select one of exploded parts, but you can't. This is because the Explode tool "Active select" can only select multipart features. If you choose the Select tool from the Edit tab (not the Explode tool), are you then able to select the now singlepart feature? After exploding a feature, the Explode "Active select" will remain active: Click the Select tool so that is active: Now the Explode "Active select" is no longer active and you should be able to select single part features again: More info on Active select tools: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/editing/select-features-for-editing.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_7FD51A6FCEA644E6A30C62C9D4334997 Does this work for you? Thanks! Scott
