Robert, If you are using Calculate Geometry (actually the Calculate Geometry Attributes geoprocessing tool), and you choose Point z-coordinate for the property, you should get the z-value that's stored on the point. Prior to running the tool, you can check what this is using the Edit Vertices tool like I described in this thread above (https://community.esri.com/message/886772-re-update-field-attribute-question?commentID=886772&et=watches.email.thread#comment-881417) If it's 0 there, you're going to get 0 for a result when you run Calculate Geometry. -Scott

Hi Alicia, What are you using for the Input Features? Remember, Input Features are used to split the Target Features. From your screenshot, it looks like Parcel_Lines are being used as Target Features, but I'm assuming you want to move them to the Input. FYI - you can select multiple features by holding SHIFT+clicking in the list and then right-click and choose Move to Input or Target (depending on which tab you are in). Thanks, Scott

Hey Robert, that's a good tip and it works because when you create a scene in ArcGIS Pro, the scene gets a default elevation surface called the Terrain 3D layer that it can use to populate z-values on the features you create: Item details page for the service: https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=7029fb60158543ad845c7e1527af11e4 Of course, you can also use your own elevation source for this, but when you have access to the internet, it's handy to just use that one. More info here: Configure a scene for 3D editing—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Thanks, Scott

Thanks Zak. It seems that you aren't the only one reporting this issue. Here is what seems like a very similar problem being reported through Esri Technical Support: [BUG-000118031 Symbology is not applied to the template while creating a new feature when the Arcade symbology is used on the layer.] My suggestion would be to contact Support so they can verify it's the same issue and attach your case to it for tracking purposes. Here is contact info: Esri Support Contact Support The ArcGIS Pro development team is aware of another seemingly similar issue and working on a fix for a future release. Until it's resolved, I think you should be able to manually create the feature templates that you need. Thanks, Scott

I'm glad we narrowed it down. I provided your feedback to the proper development team. For tracking something like this, you may want to consider posting your feedback over on ArcGIS Ideas https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas, or perhaps logging a case with Esri Technical Support - https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support Thanks, Scott

Thanks for that info, Pete. CTRL-Q increases the roam speed, so perhaps it's interfering with your accelerator? That's my best guess so far. Keyboard shortcuts for navigation—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

I wonder how you are able to use CTRL-E without the Export Map dialog popping up. That's what happens for me. Could that be a clue here? Have you tried to bind Line to another key combination as a test?

Thanks for all the info, Pete. I'll test it out on my end. What is the keyboard combination you have assigned to Arc Segment and Line? It could be an important detail.. not sure yet.

Hi Pete, There is no setting that would affect how fast tools can switch. I have a variety of questions though: When you say "might be linked to visually updating the editing toolbar" do you mean the Tools gallery on the Edit tab? EDIT: I re-read your question and I realized that you are talking about the construction toolbar How long are you having to wait before a tool is ready to use? Which version of Pro? How many other layers are in the map? Are they all checked on as editable? Where is the data located that you are editing (some examples: file geodatabase on the C: drive, SQL Service database, ArcGIS Online hosted feature service)? Does it occur if you turn off the basemap? Does it occur in a new project? Does it occur with only one layer in the map? Thanks, Scott

Hi Robert, To edit values of a vertex or point: from the Edit tab > click Modify > click Vertices and the Edit Vertices pane opens. You can change x,y, and z in the table at the bottom of the pane: You can also launch the Edit Vertices from the Attributes pane, Geometry tab. The button is next to the Move button. Relevant documentation: Modify feature vertices—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Does this help? Thanks, Scott

I'm not sure about why that could be, but a quick search on Geonet reveals someone who found a solution for their specific case: https://community.esri.com/thread/101652#comment-658022 If that doesn't work, maybe a quick call to Esri Technical Support will help? - Esri Support Contact Support

Hi, It would be a neat enhancement for the Create Points Along Lines and the Offset editing tools (both found on the Edit ribbon > Modify features pane) to be able to import distance values from a file - currently not possible. However, have you tried the Linear Referencing toolbox (Analysis tab > Tools > look for Linear Referencing Tools). I think the only two geoprocessing tools you would need are Create Routes and Make Route Event Layer. An overview of the Linear Referencing toolbox—Help | ArcGIS Desktop These two tutorials are written for ArcMap, but show how to use the above geoprocessing tools: Exercise 2: Creating and calibrating route data—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Exercise 4: Displaying and querying route events—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Hope this helps!
