Just confirmed with ESRI tech support that the ArcGIS Server 10.1 Service Pack 1 was not available for EDN subscriptions until just yesterday. They service packs should be there now for EDN subscriptions. Thanks, Charlie

As documented in the ArcGIS 10.1 Service Pack 1 "http://support.esri.com/en/downloads/patches-servicepacks/view/productid/189/metaid/1913", it says to get Service Pack 1 for Server on the Customer Care Portal. I logged in but the only reference I saw for Service Packs was on the EDN downloads page. I clicked that link and it took me back to the above link. So where is the download for the ArcGIS 10.1 Service Pack 1 hiding? Thanks, Charlie

Greetings, The documentation for ArcGIS Server 10.1 seems to indicate that the Spatial Data Server will only work with the Enterprise editions of ArcGIS Server 10.1. Does anyone know if the Spatial Data Server will work with the Workgroup editions of ArcGIS Server 10.1 and SQL Express (2008 or 2012)? Thanks, I appreciate any help you can provide me. Charlie

Thanks. Could it be that cbsnews.com has a storm tracker map of the Hurricane on their website that uses the ArcGIS JavaScript API? I bet the server is getting hammered with requests with everyone looking at the Hurricane track. Thanks for looking into it.

Yep, it is still down. I'm getting service unavailable. Not good for CDN. Does ESRI have a failover server? Maybe its time to install JS API on my own server... sigh. Charlie

Yes, I am having a similar problem. I have tried to get the agsjs TOC working with the ArcGIS JavaScript 3.2 API, and it does not work. I suspect there are issues with dojo 1.7.x here as well. Too bad, because this looks like a really nice implementation of a TOC. Something that is missing from the ArcGIS JavaScript API. Charlie

Purchasing new server, but it comes with Windows Server 2012. This is going to become an issue for many people very soon. We really NEED support for Windows Server 2012 / IIS 8 sooner rather than later please. Charlie

Are there any issues with having the .Net Framework 4.5 installed on the server machine where I am going to install ArcGIS Server 10.1? I know that .Net Framework 4.0 is ok but was wondering about 4.5? Thanks, Charlie

I see from the GeoRssLayer documentation in the API that several attributes are associated with each graphic displayed from a GeoRSS feed. On one of the GeoRSS feeds that I am trying to read, they use <title> and <description> tags, but the ESRI API docs state that they support <title> and <Summary> attributes. I also see that the USGS earthquake feeds that are used in the samples use a <description> instead of <Summary>. I don't know that much about GeoRSS or RSS for that matter, but are description and summary interchangeable? Also, is it possible to embed a link to an image in the description/summary tag using CDATA and have that show up when the point is clicked on the map? Finally, we are trying to get a GeoRSS feed from our server which is setup to use https, and the GeoRSS feed is on another domain that is http. Is it possible to use a proxy to get this feed similar to what is in the docs and shown below? Will the site with the GeoRSS feed still need the Crossdomain and clientaccesspolicy files installed? <esri:GeoRssLayer Source="https://OurServer.com/Proxy/proxy.ashx?url=http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/catalogs/1day-M2.5.xml" /> Sorry for so many questions at once but I am new to ingesting RSS feeds with Silverlight. Thanks, Charlie

I have several points located along the Aleutian islands that cross the 180 degree longitude line. When I click on a point to "identify" it gives me the correct information, but when I click on the "Zoom To" link it takes me to the "Sea of Okhotsk", which is clearly not correct. Everything else seems to work fine, it is just the Zoom To that seems wrong. I am using the JavaScript 3.0 API with a simple point layer in an ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer with the World_Street_Map as the background layer. Both are using a Spatial Reference: 102100 (3857). Has anyone else seen this? Charlie

I agree. It should be part of the ArcGIS JavaScript API, especially since ESRI has not provided a useful TOC / Legend widget. We are already at version 2.8 and there is still no useful TOC / Legend from ESRI. This should be at the top of their development list! Very frustrating! Charlie

After searching back a couple of years through the forums, I finally found an answer for my problem. When defining a centerPoint for the centerAndZoom method, you must assign a SpatialReference to the centerPoint. Typically you define a SpatialReference for the Extent when setting up for this method, but it was not clear from the documentation that a SpatialReference must also be assigned to the centerPoint. Thanks, Charlie

After looking through the forums I have come across similar posts, such as: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/3980-centerAndZoom-is-still-not-work-in-2.0?highlight=centerAndZoom It appears that this problem still exists when you have both a TiledMapService and a DynamicMapService. This is a show stopper. Charlie

Greetings, I have an application with 1 ArcGISTiledMapServiceLayer as the base layer and 1 ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer (feature layer) with points as the features. I have a JavaScript function that centers on a particular point and zooms to that point (i.e. map.centerAndZoom(centerPt, zoomLevel) ). If the zoomLevel changes from one point to the next, then the points do not show up until I move the map a bit to change the extent a bit. I have tried using layer.hide() and layer.show() but the points still do not display until I move the map a bit. Does anyone know of a way to refresh the feature layer so that the points will display? Any help with this is greatly appreciated. I have run out of ideas! It seems that there should be a refresh event in the API that would accomplish the same thing as physically moving the map. Thanks, Charlie

I have one background street layer and one feature layer with points in it, and after doing a map.centerAndZoom() to one of the points the points either don't show up or they are so large that it blurs the screen. I tried the "hide()" and "show()" methods but they do not help at all. The only way to get everything in focus is to move the map a bit to refresh the extent, as the previous poster suggested. So is there another way to refresh a feature layer that will work? Charlie
