Hey Adam - If you'd like, I can take a look at the GeoEvent Service's layout and properties if you export the XML configuration and send it to me. You're observing this using the 10.2.1 release? Have you tried clearing the IE browser cache, logging-out and back into Manager? There was a security feature added to 10.2.1 which automatically logs you out after 1 hour. The time is configurable from within a product config file if the log-out is getting in your way. I've sometimes seen odd behavior when my session has expired and I try to do something like open a GeoEvent Service for editing. Thanks RJ. We can do that. I have tried those things and done so within an hour. We can look at adjusting the pixel tolerance if it's proving difficult to select a connector line. You should be able to click the line (it will highlight/glow when selected) and press 'Delete'. Doh! I was looking for a drop-down selection from a right mouse click. I can select, but never thought to use the 'Delete' key.... Embarrassing! We will look into being supporting copy/paste of user entries from the different properties panels. I think the feature was added to the 10.2.2 release (due out March / April) to copy service elements such as processors and filters within a service, but you still won't be able to copy them from one service to another. As far as working with tabs ... can you try using the Browser's tabs, effectively opening a new window, and working on the two services you want to edit that way? Please let me know if that works for you. That would work for me. At least I could copy strings of text from within an element and paste to the other. I remember trying to do that with field names in a previous release, but sometimes the older of the two windows closed on me after a few minutes. I think that was what happened. Regardless, thank you for your help once again, RJ! --Adam

I have opened up a GEP Service to edit it in IE9 and Chrome. The screen remains blank and locks up in IE9. Everything works in Chrome, but I am not able to delete a connector line between inputs, processors, filters and outputs. For example, I want to insert another processor in the middle of the Service between two others I wish to keep. How do I eliminate the original line? I also miss being able to copy and paste processors (or even just equations or lists) from one service to another and just selecting a tab to get back and forth between services. Is the old Service Designer still compatible? Thanks, --Adam

Hi Mark, There are many answers to your question, actually. It depends on how you can get the GPS information out of the radio and how it needs to be translated. In our IP based radio systemsystem, we have a polling server (custom development) that actually requests locations from the radios. The radio responds back to the polling server with its location - which then translates the hex packet into a text packet (CSV) and sends it to our GeoEvent Processor installation - which then sends the information to a log file, and a feature service to be displayed on the client's AVL mapping application. If the radio in your situation has a computer attached to it and uses the radio network for connectivity, you could potentially program that computer to send you a location whenever you want, in the format that you want. The important thing here is that GeoEvent Processor is just a receiver of information. Someone correct me if I am wrong. You can probably develop a GeoEvent Processor input that receives and converts a packet into something it can read, but it cannot reach out and request that a radio deliver its location. Some other component is needed for that functionality. Motorola's Astro P25 system has an optional server that handles AVL polling, but it needs another application controling it and again delivering information to GEP. There are many solutions available that work with that system. --Adam

Could you post a link to this demo? If I am correct, they are using the GeoEvent Processor along with ArcGIS Server. --Adam

Sandeep, If you haven't already, you might want to check out this post. My problem is specifically related to the use of a proxy script in our enterprise environment. The bug is NIM090926. --Adam

I do know that MS Server 2012 Datacenter R2 is not on the list of supported operating systems for anything Esri yet. All of our Esri server software currently resides on MS Server 2003, and is severely hampering progress. My network admin wants to install 2012 R2 on new machines for me instead of having to upgrade again in a few months. My question: Is there any reason that I should not install ArcGIS server software on a MS Server 2012 R2 machine? Anything known that will render the install useless in general? Thank you, --Adam

I believe the line you changed previously to get through the proxy was; useDefaultCredentials="true". Yes, correct. That is a part of the change that I missed, although I had to also change the other setting. In the new version, both are set to true. Do you have a machine that is running 10.1.1.142 version of the Operations dashboard that still can get through your proxy server? My machine running 10.1.1.142 was able to get through the proxy without issue minutes before I upgraded. Another machine could do the same before upgrade (before I could stop him from upgrading). Have you tried to install the 10.2 version on another system that never had Operations Dashboard installed on it? No, I have not been able to do this. To get the ball rolling could you please log a support ticket and provide as much information regarding your environment. I can log a support ticket. Here is a little about our system.... We use a proxy called Bluecoat. It uses authentication via Active Directory (AD). We have AD Group Policies push out the proxy settings to desktops. If the desktop does not have these settings, it will not be able to access the Internet. If applications need to access the Internet and do not use the proxy settings, they will not work.

At the last version of OD, we could use a workaround to get through our company proxy server by editing the OperationsDashboard.exe.config file. Simply change "false" to "true" in: defaultProxy enabled="true" This morning, I installed the latest version of OD and got this: So, I uninstalled OD, following the multiple posts about properly deleting the contents of the "2.0" folder, and reinstalled OD. I still get the same error: The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required. In checking the config file, the default Proxy setting is already enabled. I have not been able to find any directions to login to OD, or for use with a proxy. Could someone give me some help? Thanks, --Adam

Right now, it does not appear that can happen, but that would be a great addition to the email-out output! Maybe you should enter it in http://ideas.arcgis.com --Adam

So, to beat this dead horse some more... I have read this and many other related threads. This one is the only thread that might be getting me closer to my answer. In a popup in the Flex Application Builder v3.5, I am attempting to create a link to open a folder in a network share on our intranet. In previous versions of the Flex Viewer, this worked: <a href="file:{FILEPATH}" target='_blank'>Image Link</a> FILEPATH = \\myserver\share\sub1\sub2 The link would open a browser window that would then open that folder in an Windows File Browser. Now, obviously that does not work. Again, I just want to open a FOLDER, not a specific file. I have tried to reformat with at least 15 different recommendations with and without the "file:" and using all forward slashes in the link, or even a combination of forward and back slashes. Now using "file:" to lead anything off gets me absolutely no action in IE9. So I have attempted making Virtual Directory to the network share in IIS 6. I don't even know where to start. All searches on the web have talked just about redirecting to another website or FTP, not simply a network share folder. Any help or links to walkthroughs on Virtual Directory IIS 6 setup would be a big help!!! EDIT: I did try opening the network share using the local "O:" drive mapping on everyone's computers without luck using "localhost" as a part of the link. Thank you! --Adam

I have not tried to even install Portal yet, but I have an idea. In your picture, you have ArcGIS Online selected. If you haven't tried this already, you could try changing that setting to ArcGIS Server. Let us know if that works. --Adam
