We're running somewhat of a hybrid system with ArcGIS Server and AGOL right now. So right now, we have a couple of folks editing our geometric network. Some of our data is stored in AGOL. I'm not sure that the single user network support through Pro would suffice. We literally only have 2 users editing features in the geometric network (although I'd love the ability for multiuser editing of related tables within the geometric network), so I really don't want to mess with installing and maintaining Portal, just for 2 users. It's a bit worrisome that there isn't a defined plan in place for those of us in this situation. In order to plan long term, I hope that there will be a clearer road map for us in the near future. There seems to be quite the push to move folks to Pro. I'm curious as to what the adoption rate of the utility network is within the utility field is. We could be in the minority when it comes to this, but I've spoken with others in the same boat as us. I really hope that at the very least, as ArcMap is phased out, we have a comparable system with Pro as we do now. Thanks.

Will it ever be possible to use the utility network without installing and maintaining Portal? Initially, the idea was to bring the geometric network to Pro...that didn't work, so the utility network was created. Then I was told that it would be released to Portal first, with the plan of being available via AGOL at a later date. Now, I'm hearing that it will never be fully integrated with AGOL. Is that true? If so, does that mean that in order to have that network connectivity that a geometric network allows, all utilities will have to install and maintain Portal? What does that do to small utilities that don't have the infrastructure for that? I really wouldn't mind using Pro more often, but it seems like for those of us in the utility field, outside of using portal, we've kind of been left behind. At some point, arcmap will be a thing of the past. That day worries me quite a bit.

We've also experienced this. This happens occasionally, while adding a point. The point feature is stored on our arcgis server in a postgresql database. It's shared out as a feature service. We haven't seen this issue at all in the old collector app, just the new one. We have found that if you close the program out and reopen (this may also work with just reloading), the point shows back up. So ours also remain intact, but renders the program somewhat useless.

Yes...and I have...but in doing a search, I found this...which appears to be a similar issue, albeit a different program.

I know this is an older post, but we are having the same issue within the newest collector app while using iPads.

Also on board with this idea. We've had users get married (or the other way around). Changing the user name would be easier than recreating everything.

We are slowly deploying the new collector app to all of our crews. One of the crews is having a sporadic issue where the iPad will require compass calibration. It doesn't happen every day, but he said on days it does occur, that it happens often. The internal GPS is turned on, but he manually drops the points anyway. We have 2 other crews that use an external GPS with the newer version of collector and they haven't had a problem. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app on his device, with the same results. Just trying to figure out if this is something triggered by the app, or if we have an issue with the iPad itself. Thanks, Robb

Just installed the 17.1.2 beta....looks like all of the issues that we had with the original are working now. I'm looking forward to this getting to the app store soon!

Is there a way to create a query definition like in the windows app? If not, is this something that is planned?

Are you searching numerical fields? Most of our searches are on GIS IDs for our features that are all integer fields. None of them seem to have the behavior that you are describing. I did find that for the couple of fields that are text based, we are also getting the same results as you are. What about your field values...are they populating? Some seem to work, while others don't. Fields that are auto-created when you enable editor tracking seem to work. Most, however, do not populate (searches do not work on these). I thought it had something to do with the field alias issue, but that doesn't seem to hold true, because I have fields that follow that rule, but do not populate. I really wish they would just re-release the older, working version. It's been 3 weeks now and it still doesn't look like a permanent, working fix is coming out soon.

Just installed the latest test flight update (just came through maybe 10 minutes ago). This is another step back. The group layers still work. That's good. The fields are back to not working properly again, just like they did when the 17.0 update came out. Feature searches are still not working. Most fields do not populate. The date field seems to be working again, but at this point I'd rather it not work and the other fields do work.

I'm sure that everyone is working hard at trying to find solutions to these problems, and I appreciate that. However, these problems existed in the beta. They are causing a lot of problems for us. As someone else here said, the trust we had worked to build up with many of our users, is quickly eroding. I understand that with the conference and the new markup tool there was likely a lot of excitement about releasing it right away. I really hope this never happens with collector. After shifting so many of our collection processes over to the collector app, it would eliminate any trust with using GIS to gather information in the future. I really hope that this is a lesson learned that you have many types of users with many different setups. I know you can't cater to everyone, but it seems as though this was a pretty widespread. Again, I get that everyone is likely working hard to resolve these issues, but they should have been resolved before this app was released. Hopefully more folks will use the betas from here on out and report these problems so that we aren't in the same predicament next time.

So in 17.1.1 the group layers appear to be working. Doing feature searches still don’t work. I’ve also noticed that the date fields show up incorrectly. That’s new to this update. I’m also still noticing that at times, it takes unusually long to get the popup to come up.
