I was using Manage Map Server Cache Tiles tool because the image service publishing tool always failed to create cache. However, I am still getting errors when I manually create cache for a given image service. Here are errors I got running the tool: Drawing failure, error string = Failed to create an image cache tile for Multispectral at R88CD0. [Missing raster: [\\DEVDOCSQL1\SpatialData\Landsat_p114r75\\p114r075_7t20000501_z50_nn70.tif]]; [Missing raster: [\\DEVDOCSQL1\SpatialData\Landsat_p114r75\\p114r075_7t20000501_z50_nn50.tif]]; [Missing raster: [\\DEVDOCSQL1\SpatialData\Landsat_p114r75\\p114r075_7t20000501_z50_nn40.tif]]; [Missing raster: [\\DEVDOCSQL1\SpatialData\Landsat_p114r75\\p114r075_7t20000501_z50_nn30.tif]]; ... Failed to execute (ManageMapServerCacheTiles). Environment: Desktop, Server and GDB are on three different servers. I remote into the desktop and using ArcGIS desktop to connect to server and publish. Additional Info: The GDB where the mosaic dataset is stored is registered on ArcGIS Server. The folder where contains imagery files referenced to the mosaic dataset is shared and can be seen on the network. In the services directory, cache tiles were created from level ID 0 to 7. After that, it has 404 (Not Found) error. If anyone knows the cause(s) or has some suggestions what may be the cause(s), please let me know. Thank you.

Having the same problem. Going in circles. Would pay for someone to remote into my computer and talk me through what has to happen for this to work. I'm not a DBA, faking my way through SQL permissions. You probably need to setup a database account that can be used by ArcGIS server.

Not exactly certainly how the problem is solved. By going to the root first, now I can access the Services Directory. It should have something to do with Window authentication, but this is as much as I know.

I am currently testing ArcGIS Server 10.2, and I went through the steps to configure web adaptor after installation: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//01540000041q000000 It shows the GIS server is registered to my Web Adaptor, and I can now use the URL ( http://localhost/arcgis/rest/services ) for accessing services in the Services Directory. However, I am unable to access the Services Directory page. The error I am having: Could not initialize class com.esri.arcgis.discovery.security.manager.WebSecurityManager; Code: 500. Note: Under Application Pool in IIS Manager, ArcGISWebAdaptorAppPool .NET Framework Version is v.2.0.50727. Also, I am able to publish may services, but I am simply unable to access Service Directory page. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Any idea/suggestion will be welcomed. Thanks.

This is a minor inconvenience. On the Manager (10.2 Server), the Sign Out link at the upper right corner (where it used to be) disappear. Right now, there are only esri.com | Resource Center | Help Does anyone know what may be the cause and how to get the Sign Out link back? (Not critically important)

Just want to say that we are also experiencing the same thing. I also saw a few complains on twitter. Sometimes we even see "Not Responding" in the title, but it would solve itself a few seconds later. (It usually takes less than one second on 10.1 or earlier.) It is a lot slower to connect to GDBs and GIS servers, and I don't think it is video card related.

Thanks, Gareth. I finally solved the problem. Yes, it is security related, and it could be a small bug. The security was set to Public, but there was a role under Allowed Roles. [Screenshot in Attachment] It seemed that it was still treated as Private when there was something in Allowed Roles even if it was grayed out. Once I removed the role, re-selected Public, and saved the setting, I was able to publish service(s).

I am testing ArcGIS 10.2. I am trying to publish a web service from ArcGIS 10.2 Desktop to ArcGIS 10.2 Server, but I got an error message: "The server is not ready for publishing. Please check if the Publishing Tools on the server (System/PublishingTools) are started." The message appeared when I clicked Publish on Service Editor. I used Manager to check the services, and the tools were running (started). Any input, suggestion, solution will be appreciated. Thanks. Note: For the test purpose, I turned off the firework, so it shouldn't be the cause. Under Admin tools/Services, ArcGIS Server is also running.

There may be a few ways to approach the problem. You can look into ways to publish real-time data. GeoEvent extension for Server (not released yet I think) may be an easier (and costly) way to do it.

I just viewed the sample on IE8 , and the Print dropdown button isn't displayed. In the developer tools, it simply says, "LOG: Something broke: [object Error]".

Since you are going to create the infoWindow at a MapPoint, you can first check if the map contains the point, if not center your map at the point.

Yes, there is another way. Take a look at this example here: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/samples/01nq/01nq0000001q000000.htm Look at the function onMouseOverHandler in it. My method may take a bit longer, but it is a complete custom component. So how long it may take depends on how complex the component is. Also, you can always take ESRI's infowindow and modify to the way you want. Good luck,

I never use the method you use there. I don't know if it will be easier to use this method (The method I prefer) 1. Create a new custom component 2. Assign it to myMap.infoWindow.content 3. myMap.infoWindow.show(mapPoint)

I don't know if it will be easier, but you can convert the xls file to cvs, txt, or even xml file. Then, load it, parse it, and last, loop through them to create point graphics or mappoints.
