Lisa, we've updated the status of https://community.esri.com/ideas/11923 to In Product Plan. I personally can't guarantee a delivery date but the hope would be that this will be included with Pro 2.1 later this year. Hope this info helps.

That's right, Curtis. If metadata exists for a dataset, it is equally accessible by any ArcGIS applications that can access the dataset. Metadata created in ArcMap is available to ArcGIS Pro, and vice-versa. Metadata created with the metadata editor included in ArcMap can be viewed in ArcGIS Pro seamlessly, and vice-versa. There is no documentation about this because it is completely transparent for customers who use the editor provided with ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro. You're right that the geoprocessing tools aren't in Pro yet. This is in the plan, and we'll be working with the appropriate teams to get the roadmap updated to give you and the user community a better idea of when we'll see more metadata functionality in Pro.

I ran across this aged post today and thought that I'd provide the current state of things in case anybody runs into this in their quest for knowledge on ArcGIS Pro. Currently, in ArcGIS Pro 1.4, there are workflows for creating and managing geodatabase topologies. See Create a topology—Topologies | ArcGIS Desktop Most functionality works today with full support for geodatabase topology at Pro 2.0. Future releases will include a wizard for an improved user experience. Because there were questions about a "roadmap" for Pro, the https://community.esri.com/community/gis/applications/arcgis-pro/blog/2017/03/05/arcgis-pro-roadmap?sr=search&searchId=d50f4bff-1c40-4100-b64a-5c3a7f21cdb4&searchIndex=0 was published earlier this year and will be updated continually.

Paul Haakma OK, I have the issues sorted out on our side. The enhancement noted above has been converted into a bug: [BUG-000104788: Masking an imagery layer in ArcGIS Pro does not work] because the Masking functionality (in terms of the button being there when an image layer is selected, and the polygon layers populating in the Masking dropdown...) is all there. It's all set up to work, its just that when a masking polygon is selected to mask an image layer, it doesn't work. That is a bug, not an enhancement request. For this one noted above: BUG-000104786: "Disable the masking option when an imagery is selected in the Table of contents". NO! We don't want to disable the masking option for imagery. We want it to work! Therefore, BUG-000104786 has been closed as a "duplicate" of BUG-000104788. I hope this helps clear things up. Thank you to you and jfpeagle-co-nz-esridist for making sure that things are working well in Pro!

Paul Haakma If I understand the requirement correctly, without using a mosaic dataset, you can use a Clip raster function as seen below: Here I have a TIFF layer and I also have a polygon layer that I've called Upper Poly: In your use case, you say that you "want to 'clip' the imagery, i.e. 'mask' everything that is *not* inside a polygon. I could achieve this by creating a 'doughnut' polygon where the masked portion is bigger than my layout, but that seems a little crude." From the Imagery tab, I chose Raster Functions. This opens the Raster Functions pane, and I chose to Clip Clip function—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop . Here is what my Clip Properties look like: And the resulting layer (I increased the transparency to 80% because I wanted to leave the polygon layer on): Isn't that what you're looking to do?

I'm on the Customer Advocacy team as the Lead for Desktop. Our team is part of Esri Support Services and is dedicated to collecting customer feedback and communicating that feedback to Product teams. Our team covers Apps, ArcGIS Online, Desktop, Enterprise, and Geodata. The ArcGIS Ideas site is an important feedback channel for us. I wanted to take a couple of minutes to share my excitement about progress we're making on Ideas in the ArcGIS Desktop space. First, here’s a little bit of background on what happens after you’ve submitted your idea. Once your idea is up on the Ideas site, you'll notice that it has a status of New. Feel free to refer to Submitting a New Idea for more details. This quick post isn't to repeat what can already be found in the online help documents. Be sure to categorize your idea appropriately and give it some good tags that will help others find your great idea. At this point the idea gets reviewed by the Customer Advocacy team. We don't dig in super deeply, we make sure that it isn't a duplicate of an idea that already exists and we double-check those categories and tags that you diligently included. If all looks good, we simply mark the idea as Reviewed. That's what you see on your side. We also check to see if we have a similar request already logged through our Support system. This would likely be in the form of an Enhancement Request. If so, we make sure that the idea is linked with the Enhancement Request. By doing this, we can get a clearer picture of Customer demand for the functionality. As time goes by, ideas get up votes, down votes and comments from the user community. Advocacy Leads frequently monitor the site, and usually on a monthly basis report on trends to our respective Product teams. Ideas may be discussed because they have a high overall score. But if that were the only criteria, as it takes time to accumulate a high score, relatively new ideas wouldn’t make it into the discussion. So we also look at things like how fast an idea’s score is growing – how many up votes this month? – how many up votes this year? Sometimes we also see an idea collect a wide variety of user stories. It may not have an incredibly high score, or even be growing as fast as other ideas. But what if, out of 15 up votes, the community has provided 15 unique and compelling user stories in the comments? Those user stories may reveal that the functionality could be used across a number of different industries, meaning that implementing the idea would have a greater impact than something that is a niche use. This is a really good reason to not only vote for ideas that you’d like to see, but also provide your user story in the comments! I think that does a pretty good job laying down the background. Now for what I really wanted to share - we've been moving a lot of ideas forward in the Desktop space recently. Ideas move from Reviewed to Under Consideration or In Product Plan. Under Consideration means we are actively considering and researching this Idea. In Product Plan means that we have scheduled the Idea for inclusion in a future release. Take a look at Statuses for ArcGIS Ideas to understand the finer details about what a status actually means. As we review just how much movement we've made on the ideas below, keep in mind that this is just in the Desktop space and there is a lot of progress being made across other products and technologies as well! In the past month, here is a snapshot of status updates. 15 Desktop ideas have been moved from New or Reviewed to Under Consideration: Add a spellchecker to ArcMap for text elements in the layout Alter Field Order during New FC or Table Creation New Geodatabase Tool in Folders in ArcGIS Pro Give us back the ability to create folders within dialog! ArcGIS Pro - Copy Path Drag & Drop Data into ArcGIS Pro Make Definition Query able to be turned on/off with Check Box Polygon Outline Color Ramp Dual scale bars showing different units Allow ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro to interact with ArcGIS Server Dynamic Layers Clip map to shape in ArcGIS Pro Add Export Model to Python Script back to ArcGIS Pro Disable "Authorize ArcGIS Pro to work offline" Create geodatabase from ArcGIS Pro dialog Add basic find functionality to ArcGIS Pro table view! 13 Desktop ideas have been moved to In Product Plan: Saving Service and SDE Connection in ArcGIS Pro ArcGIS Pro: make layer from selection Summary Statistics Workflow in ArcGIS Pro Fix Duplicate Parcel to Preserve Line Points Warn on missing type field when loading parcels into a fabric Cancel Button to Abort Closing Parcel Details Window Close the Parcel Details window instead of deactivating Parcel Fabric - Line Search in parcel details construction box Attribute Transfer in Parcel Editor Tools Business Analyst for ArcGIS Pro Preview Attribute Table in Pro Adding attribute table in ArcGIS Pro Layout Rename Shapefiles (better data-management) in ArcGIS Pro (1.4) As we go, ideas that are In Product Plan will graduate to Implemented, many ideas that are Under Consideration will move to In Product Plan, and as you continue to enthusiastically submit more great ideas, the cycle will continue. I hope that sharing these updates is insightful. I wanted to thank you for participating in the process and let you know that we’re listening!

Curtis Price There are some known limitations for importing, exporting, and validating metadata that are mentioned here: Best practices for editing metadata—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop but as a general statement, metadata isn't read-only in Pro. There is much that can be done currently in ArcGIS Pro with metadata. View and edit metadata—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Create FGDC CSDGM metadata—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop ... plus other topics listed in the left-hand panel of the online resources.

This is not yet supported in ArcGIS Pro. Notice in the https://community.esri.com/community/gis/applications/arcgis-pro/blog/2017/03/05/arcgis-pro-roadmap?sr=search&searchId=0b9a42b7-34d1-4664-8997-b205f9106736&searchIndex=0 that "Interactive input for analysis" is listed as coming in the future. This would be feature set functionality.
