Hi Andrew, What documentation have you looked at, and where were you getting hung up? Here is the Introduction to installing and configuring ArcGIS Desktop—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Since you have a question about the need to uninstall, you could see Existing ArcGIS Desktop users—Help | ArcGIS Desktop You also had a question about License Manager, but you said you had desktop for Personal Use. Does this mean you have a Single Use license (ESU)? In that case, there is no need for License Manager as that is only to serve out Concurrent Use licenses: "For concurrent-use, ensure the license manager you are connecting to is a 10.5 license manager."~from the previous link. "Concurrent use license For concurrent-use versions, a license allows ArcGIS Desktop products to be used on any machine. Each installation must access a license manager that contains the appropriate license for the software seat type of (Desktop Advanced, Desktop Standard, or Desktop Basic). The license manager, installed on the network, dictates the number of copies of Desktop Basic, Desktop Standard, or Desktop Advanced that can be run simultaneously. A 10.5 license manager is required to run ArcGIS Desktop." ~from the first link above. Introduction to installing and configuring ArcGIS Desktop—Help | ArcGIS Desktop indicates that Database Server is (optional) as is the ArcGIS Cooridinate Data (optional). Does this help to address your questions? If not, and you still feel that there would be a better, easier, more streamlined or intuitive way of guiding users through installation and authorization of the software, please do share specific ideas, screenshots of buttons, what you see vs. what you'd like to see, etc. as that is very valuable information to help make the setup process better. Thanks!

Brian, Are you referring to using the Append Parcel Fabric—Help | ArcGIS Desktop tool? You're requesting the option to allow existing plan records to have their fields updated - which fields (or all?) would be logical to update? About the parcel fabric tables—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Where do you picture setting the "first in wins"/"last in wins" rules? In the Append Parcel Fabric tool, or somewhere else? Providing some more context (even better with screenshots) will help others better understand the Idea and promote it accordingly. Thank you, Kory

Please keep an eye on the Attribute Rules functionality coming to a future release of ArcGIS Pro. My understanding is that these rules will be based on the Arcade language (ArcGIS Arcade | ArcGIS for Developers ) meaning that they can be used across the ArcGIS Platform. See the ArcGIS Pro Roadmap for a general idea of when we can expect to see Attribute Rules. While this doesn't directly respond to incorporating a Python method in Attribute Assistant, Attribute Rules will be how Attribute Assistant-like functionality is implemented moving forward. So you might start getting familiar with Arcade and see what you're able to do once Attribute Rules are in place in a future release of Pro. The great thing is that because Arcade scripts are portable, your attribute rules can be read and executed not only in a desktop application like ArcGIS Pro, but also in a WebMap through a browser, or in a Mobile Application!

Kevin, I realize that this doesn't directly respond to the Idea, but have you looked into the Military Tools for ArcGIS add-in? Military Tools for ArcGIS | ArcGIS for Defense The Coordinate Conversion tools might be very helpful depending on your workflow.

Tom, Does the Scale-based symbol classes—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop functionality allow for the functionality you requested in the original Idea? "This is an effective strategy to limit the amount of detailed data at smaller scales without having to make multiple versions of the layer, each with a different definition query."

Hi Yinghong. Can you please re-word your statement into a descriptive Idea? You can refer to https://community.esri.com/docs/DOC-8266?sr=search&searchId=7bfbfee3-bb41-41cf-af25-8487f099ce08&searchIndex=1 for best practices in terms of submitting a well-formed and thoughtful idea that is more likely to receive views, have the community vote, encourage community comments and feedback, and ultimately be more actionable. Thank you.

Hi Gus, I realize that a lot of time has passed since the original idea was posted, so I wanted to check with you to make sure you're aware of the following resources: What is a Python toolbox? What is a Python toolbox?—Geoprocessing and Python | ArcGIS Desktop Comparing custom and Python toolboxes: Comparing custom and Python toolboxes—Geoprocessing and Python | ArcGIS Desktop As well as all of the resources under the Creating tools in a Python toolbox topic: Creating a new Python toolbox—Geoprocessing and Python | ArcGIS Desktop Do you need something more than the above? If so, please provide additional and specific information about what would be helpful.

This will be the permanent home for the ArcGIS Pro Roadmap, at least for the foreseeable future, as it allows us a lot of flexibility in keeping it the most up-to-date, which is what will be most helpful to all of our users! I believe the plan is to mark this post as Featured Content in the https://community.esri.com/community/gis/applications/arcgis-pro?sr=search&searchId=059f38db-f29b-4544-b3af-30dfc795b0b9&searchIndex=0 space to give it visibility.

POST

Alvaro and StephenSmithAOT, I'd encourage you to please post this as an idea in the ArcGIS Ideas space. See Submitting a New Idea if you're not familiar with the process. Ideas allow the community to vote and share the ways that they use this functionality. In this case, you and others will be able to share why the Find and Replace functionality is important to your daily workflows, and why not having it in Pro is keeping you from using Pro (which sounds like the case for you). Thank you!

Hi Ryan, Please refer to the https://community.esri.com/community/gis/applications/arcgis-pro/blog/2017/03/05/arcgis-pro-roadmap?sr=search&searchId=30628659-8201-4b78-a19b-a8848598896b&searchIndex=0 Reports are listed for Mid-term (meaning we can be pretty sure they won't be in the next release of Pro, 2.0). So hopefully you'll see them coming relatively soon. Keep an eye on that roadmap as it will continue to be updated as the capabilities are released.

Thank you for the comments, Joshua. The idea for this roadmap is exactly what you've described in your first comment. It will continually be updated as Pro develops - "We'll revise the roadmap throughout the year to ensure it reflects the latest information." I'll share your suggestion about creating something similar on the server-side with our Customer Advocacy team. Thomas Edghill Thank you again for the positive feedback and constructive suggestions! Cheers, Kory

Dario, it looks like there is a nearly identical post here: https://community.esri.com/thread/181020 where the user has a DJI Phantom. You could contact Tony Mason to see what the discovery was in that case. Hope this helps!
