When you say that you're not doing anything other than the documentation says you should do, are you referring the help on running Pro with Parallels on Mac: Recommendations for running ArcGIS Pro on a Mac—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

Hi Robert. I feel your frustration and as a representative of technical support, trust me, we do want to help. But you put me in a tough place replying to this by saying not to call you, and that you don't want to work with us to reproduce the issue. Did you include your email address and a description on the crash report that you submitted? There are a number of factors that can lead to performance issues and we would need to look at those specific to your situation, where the data is stored, where the project itself is stored, etc. In short, I can say that importing maps into a Pro project does not, in general, across all users, cause Pro to crash. We obviously wouldn't release that. So we need to investigate your specific case. But we can't if you don't want to work with us. If you want help, please contact technical support. We're here. On your terms. Thank you.

If you enter values into fields on a geoprocessing tool, or using the SQL query builder, or customize projection parameters, or etc... and click OK or RUN without either tabbing out of that field or clicking into another field, those values are not used. I just tried the following in 2.1.2. I entered a Distance value of 500 and did not tab out of that cell, then clicked Run. aviris Could you please provide specific steps to demonstrate the issue? Thanks!

I wanted to close the loop on this. The layout in the MXD had Preserve Aspect Ratio checked. ArcGIS Pro respects the settings from the MXD so we see in the Pro legend that the ratio is locked. Instead of changing the fitting strategy to something else and then changing it back (which WILL unlock the aspect ratio), you can just go into the placement properties and unlock it.

Thanks, John. Yes, please do open a case with technical support for this. In the meantime, could you email me one of your latest .dmp files from C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\ESRI\ErrorReports - kkramer at esri dot com? It crashes when displaying the space time cube?

Thanks for the feedback, Mark. A lot of good information here and it might take some time to sift through it to make each point actionable. So let me start with something super easy (because it's already done). Have you looked at the most recent comment on Pause Drawing in ArcGIS Pro? It is installed in version 2.2 so you'll see that in this summer's release. OK, now to the stuff that is going to actually take some time to look into. I want to get started looking at the big chunk of your response related to drawing cities. I'm downloading the data and maps data right now. You said that you had applied a definition query. Can you share what the query was? Is performance the same, faster, or slower when a definition query isn't applied? Let's start with that so we can do some focused work on this issue. As I look back up through your list, I see your comments about not being able to connect to a root drive. Have you seen https://community.esri.com/ideas/13083 ? We're going to try to get this into an upcoming release - I can't guarantee that it will make it for 2.2, but I wanted to point you to the idea. We watch the ideas site really closely and do a good job updating the statuses, so that is a good way to communicate to us in an actionable way. Anyway, I wanted to make sure you were aware of this as a way to track the status. Let's start with that. I'll wait for your response on the definition query that you applied and run through what you're reporting in your comment above. As I find time, I'll look into some of the other points you've noted and see if we already have them logged with the appropriate teams. As you run into things while working with ArcGIS Pro, I'd encourage you to log them directly with technical support so that we can have an analyst dedicate time to the specific issue at hand. If there is something that is less critical, but that you'd like to see in the software, you're still able to log that as an enhancement request through support. And as stated above, you can always search the https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas?sr=search&searchId=a31c69fe-aa6b-462e-b6ca-06def6a9c425&searchIndex=0 site to up vote existing ideas or submit ideas of your own and have the community vote. Either of these options - Support or Ideas - provide us with something that holds us accountable for responding to the issue, results in a resolution to the issue or something that is actionable (bug, enhancement request, or idea), and provides you a way of tracking an issue whether through a case number, bug, enh, or idea url. Thanks again for all of the feedback that you've provided. I look forward to starting to work with you on these.

That's great - I'm glad that worked for you! Are you able to share the mxd with me so that I can look? Does this happen with any other mxds that are imported? You can send me the mxd at [email protected] - it might not even be necessary to package it up as a map package as I might be able to test just the mxd... Let me know.

Hi John, From that other post that you referenced, it looks like there is already a lot of relevant information about parallel processing factors. Currently, the create space time cube tools do not support the Parallel Processing Factor (Environment setting)—Geoprocessing | ArcGIS Desktop You could submit that to technical support as an enhancement request, and/or log that on https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas?sr=search&searchId=c17b8cd7-899d-4176-b25b-57ca11c381a9&searchIndex=0 I think the story is a bit blurry here because you're talking about processing and then about your graphics card and then saying that you can still create space time cubes that Pro can't handle. Are there issues in the geoprocessing creation of the space time cubes, or are you saying that once they are created, there are issues displaying them (in 3D I assume?)? Could you provide some more details of the behavior? If you're running into performance issues, please log a case with technical support to troubleshoot that specifically, but I'm curious about the questions asked above. Thank you.

I understand. I'd suggest logging an idea on https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas?sr=search&searchId=3a1b15bd-60a2-4a49-8d87-8b8b3cda4263&searchIndex=0 to persist this request and open it up to community voting.

We'll have to see if Maxim Pastchenko can help with any updates? There is still no UI for this but as he stated in the referenced post, it can be done through the user.config... If you go into the user.config, you get more surgical and just delete just the <string>projectname.aprx<string> instead of wiping the whole file...

David. Screenshots/more details explanation might be helpful here. Also, posting your specific question to the ArcGIS Pro space could also help. From what you've described The main issue I have with the legend is that when trying to enlarge the legend area I can only expand diagonally. Most of the time I have plenty of space to the right but no more space below but reshaping the box forces expansion across and down. I don't see that. I threw a bunch of data into a map and then a quick layout. Here, I have plenty of space to the right but no more space below: I can grab the right-middle handle and drag it to the right and my legend adjusts accordingly: Here is where you should check first in the legend properties:

Steve, it takes the map's units. This is something that is on the team's radar and we'll see increased functionality in coming releases. Here is a sneak peak at what we might see in 2.2:

I agree with Dan - I quickly checked and don't see this submitted on the Ideas site. I would recommend that you call technical support and provide the use case that can be captured as an enhancement request for ArcGIS Pro. That is a more direct route into the system, but like Dan mentioned, it is also good to post the Idea as a way for us to gauge the need for this across the community. Thanks.
