Again - it isn't that these can't be deleted per se.  It is that they are set as the Project's default tbx, gbd... If you had another gdb and another tbx in the project, and set those as the defaults (with the home icon) you would then be able to delete gas.tbx and gas.gdb.  Essentially, the project needs a default gdb and tbx.  I don't think it has as much to do with templates, rather https://community.esri.com/ideas/14580 for which there are numerous ways to set up your project workflows to work how you want. ... Jamal - when you click the New (Create a new project) button: Do you want to be presented with something that let's you choose a template (either a system template [Map, Catalog, Global Scene, Local Scene] or your own templates)? That could be a good idea for ArcGIS Ideas‌ - I didn't see that there.   Here is a related idea, Add Options on Create New Project Dialog, but it doesn't really get at the workflow you're pointing out.  I believe that Thomas Colson‌ also mentioned this before so you might get his vote ... Joe, I apologize that you've experienced a crash. Did you submit the error reports with a valid email address?  I searched the database and don't see anything submitted related to this.  Here is a bit more about the process: ArcGIS Desktop Error Reporter Learns Its Manners  If you have a consistently reproducible crash it would be best to get that logged as a bug with support.  Otherwise, look for Patch 2 which should be available later this week (no guarantees that it would address what you're seeing as we haven't analyzed it, but there are a lot of fixes in Patch 2 for ArcGIS Pro 2.3).
