Manuela: Have you considered arcpy and the Feature Class to Feature Class command? Here is a code sample: http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/conversion/feature-class-to-feature-class.htm#C_GUID-0D434010-EED4-4937-B4F6-24BD39AA9A42

In ArcGIS Pro 2.0, I am able to add a connection to an enterprise geodatabase (GDB) and tag it as a Favorite. The GDB connection file is saved to this location as a *.sde file. If I add (copy/paste) new *.sde connection files that were created by myself or a different ArcGIS Pro user to my C:\Users\...\ArcGISPro\Favorites, they do not dynamically appear in my Pro Favorites pane. I need to add them manually, one at a time. If I remove a *.sde file from my C:\Users\...\ArcGISPro\Favorites folder, Pro does not dynamically remove the GDB from my Favorites pane, but instead shows a red exclamation point (!) next to the connection. What I would like to see is my Favorites pane in Pro dynamically reflect the connection files that are located in my C:\Users\...\ArcGISPro\Favorites folder – like what we see in ArcCatalog. This would be helpful, because we have a database administrator who creates the GDB connection files and shares them as *.sde files with the other GIS staff. This works great with ArcCatalog, but falls short with ArcGIS Pro.

Dan: In your ArcGIS Online account My Content area where your survey is stored, go to your Survey folder, go to your survey "hosted feature layer", click on the "view item details" option from the drop-down menu, click on the "export data" button in the item detail page, choose the "Export to FGDB" option. The export will be parked in your My Content area and you can download it from there.

I discovered how to solve my problem (see screen capture notes below). I think that my problem was caused by doing a Copy/Paste from one survey form to a new survey form to save time. This broke the "type" field Source information coming from the "types" tab in the workbook. This may be the cause of my survey not working in the Survey123 Web page, too. I'll republish my survey and see what happens there.

For some of my surveys, when I open the XLSForm spreadsheet via the button on Survey123 Connect, I get a warning message that states "This workbook contains links to one or more external sources that could be unsafe." When I click on the "Update" button, I get another warning message that states "We can't update some of the links in your workbook right now." When I click on the "Edit Links..." button I get a dialog window that shows old Excel files that have nothing to do with my current survey form. None of the buttons to fix this issue solve my problem. I have no idea how these long gone spreadsheets ended up referenced in my new survey. When I start building a new survey, I use the "New Survey" button in Survey123 Connect - I do not copy/paste old surveys to start with. I am using Microsoft Excel 2016 and Survey123 Connect version 2.1.9. Has anyone else seen this issue and do you have any ideas to a solution for my problem? Thank you for your time, Joe

James: Thank you for the suggestion. I tried it and it did not work. I may have messed things up by renaming files within my C:\Users\...\ArcGIS\My Survey Designs\SurveyName folder. Since newly created surveys name all the files in survey folder as "Form 1.xxx", I renamed the files so that I could have more than one Excel file from other surveys open at a time to compare XLSForm scripting notes. I also created a new folder in ArcGIS Online / My Content and moved my survey files to it for organizational reasons. I am not sure if any of these things that I did is causing the issue with viewing the Analysis and Data tabs in S123 Web. You and your team are so generous with helpful blog posts in GeoNet, maybe a blog post outlining what files are created on the local computer when using Survey123 Connect and whether the folder and file names can be changed or not or what impact folder and file name changes may have. And outlining what files are created in ArcGIS Online and whether the stock folder in AGOL "Survey-[surveyname]" and files within can be modified in any way without impacting the survey and republishing of the survey. These information may already be in the Survey123 online help and I have yet to find it. I appreciate your time and assistance and look forward to meeting you at this year's User Conference! Joe

I am using Survey123 Connect version 2.1.9 to build and publish my surveys. I am currently unable to access the Analysis and Data tabs for any of my surveys in the Survey123 portal in a browser. I have tried with Google Chrome browser, Microsoft Internet Explorer browser and Microsoft Edge browser - all with the same results. Does anyone have a suggestion for this problem?

Scott, thank you for your query. My request is a generic one. No matter the length of the space reserved for the question, I think that it would be nice to have the option to dynamically display to the user how many allocated characters are remaining. For survey questions with little space allocated, it would be even more beneficial.

Michael: Thank you for your time and input to this thread. Your solution, above, works fine, but is not dynamic, that is, does not show the user how many characters remain in the limit as they are typing. Also, your comment on "note" items being committed to the database as asked by Dan McIlroy. It appears to me, from my Survey123 forms, that a "note" item is not by default committed to the database when the "name" field is populated with a value (see first screen capture). If a "calculation" is included with the note, then the note is committed to the DB (see second screen capture). Note without "calculation" Note with "calculation"

I would like to see an option in "Survey123 Connect/XLSForm" to add the ability to dynamically display the number of characters remaining in a text question so that survey users are aware of the question text space limit. I imagine something very similar to what one sees when authoring a tweet in Twitter?

Is there a setting option in the Survey123 XLSForm to automatically collapse all other collapsible groups when a different collapsible group is expanded? If Group A is expanded and I enter my data, then I get to Group B questions and I expand that group, I would like Group A (and any other groups) to collapse when Group B expands.

Is there a way to display to the survey user, the remaining characters available for a text input field? Similar to what one sees when authoring a tweet in Twitter?

James: Per your suggestion, I did install an alternative keyboard (Gboard) on one of the devices. When I attempted filling out my survey with the new keyboard, the same thing happened. Then I noticed something! When I open the survey on a Samsung Android device, the first text question (with an inputMask of five integers) starts the cursor to the right of five spaces that were automatically inserted. Use the backspace key to remove those spaces and the survey question works. This behavior happens on Samsung Android devices with the default Samsung keyboard and with the alternative Gboard keyboard. >The case of the mysteriously inserted spaces! Thank you James
