In ArcMap 10.0 I created a layer file of two NWI online services. I added the layer file to Explorer 2012 beta, highlight the layer in the TOC, click on the Tools tab and use the Transparency slider to change transparency. The Transparency slider does not work on a layer file in Explorer 2012 beta, but it does work in AGX 1750. A screen shot and the LYR file are attached to this post.

Explorer 2012 beta still does not display an attribute pop-up window for features in a map service that have a scale dependency set.

Polygons that are streamed from my ArcGIS Server map service still display many labels for a single polygon in Explorer 2012 beta. See attached screen capture.

Go to this site (http://soildatamart.nrcs.usda.gov/Templates.aspx) and download the MS-Access database template "soildb_US_2002". This template has a nifty macro that imports the pipe-delimited txt files and then you can tap the Access database tables from ArcMap.

I found this forum posting: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/55556-findAndReplaceWorkspacePaths-is-crashing-Python-script?highlight=findAndReplaceWorkspacePaths I had to remove the Esri and Bing map background services from my ArcMap table-of-contents to make my findAndReplaceWorkspacePaths python script work. And, as the above mentioned forum post notes, my SDE paths were not changed in the output saveACopy MXD. So, the script did not crash with online map background services removed, but it also did not make any path changes. Almost every map document that we create has an Esri/Bing map background service. If Mapdocument.findAndReplaceWorkspacePaths does not work on an MXD containing online services, what are my options?

I, too, am having no success running this code in ArcMap 10.0, SP4. I am using code examples found in ArcGIS Online Help and running it against a very simple map and data sets. Python crashes every time. I have placed "print" statements in my code to see how far it goes and it gets to the findAndReplaceWorkspacePaths process and crashes. I've run out of ideas. import arcpy, os
# Local variables
oldSDE = r"M:\Clients\M-O\ABC\_ArcGIS\2012\06\TestingRepath\SQL01\\"
newSDE = r"M:\Clients\M-O\ABC\_ArcGIS\2012\06\TestingRepath\SQL02\\"
mapDoc = r"M:\Clients\M-O\ABC\_ArcGIS\2012\06\TestingRepath\_Map01.mxd"
print "Define MapDocument Parameter"
mxd = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument(mapDoc)
print "Start FindAndReplace Process"
mxd.findAndReplaceWorkspacePaths(oldSDE, newSDE)
print "Start saveAcopy Process"
mxd.saveACopy(r"M:\Clients\M-O\ABC\_ArcGIS\2012\06\TestingRepath\_Map01_NEW.mxd")
print "Done"
del arcpy, oldSDE, newSDE, mapDoc, mxd

When I use the Point Measure tool in Explorer Desktop 1750, the latitude coordinate is reported beside the Longitude: item and the longitude coordinate is reported beside the Latitude: item. The attached image shows a point measure at Downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The point values should read: Latitude: 44.9757874672588 Longitude: -93.2741337944982 Is anyone else experiencing transposed latitude/longitude values reported in the point measure tool? P.S. I can't wait to see Explorer 2012 at the UC!

Shweta: I'm not sure what may be causing your issue, but I have some advice. I have stopped using MS-Excel documents as a source to a live map service. ArcGIS Server will lock your Excel document and you won't be able to modify and save anything in your table as long as the map service it is connected to is running. Instead, I use a table in a file geodatabase or a table in MS-Access. Using a table in a file geodatabase or a table in MS-Access allows you to add/subtract records or modify cell values while the map service is live. Joe

I am using ArcGIS for Server 10.1 prerelease in Amazon EC2 and have installed the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight. I have successfully installed and used your Bookmarks Add-in, however, after I install your new MeasureTool Add-in, I get an error message when I try to open an existing map application or if I try to create a ???new??? map application. When I uninstall the MeasureTool Add-in, the error message no longer occurs. I have attached a document with screen captures of the error message. Thank you for your hard work and contributions. Sincerely, Joe
