Welcome! Consider looking at the Petroleum User Group (PUG). Actually it's now called Energy Resources in a lot of events and probably trying to rebrand somewhat. Esri Petroleum User Group (PUG) Community | Explore GIS Resources

is there a defined extent, clip applied, or other reason that was applied to the "existing" features, but you are adding a feature outside of that? Is the feature available in the attribute table just not visible in the map? Can you use the zoom to it, proper location, by using the attribute table? Perhaps try changing symbol, or putting that feature in a different class of symbol just to see if it shows up? Not knowing your full setup, I think the first step is to validate Pro is even recognizing it. Simple question (sometimes we forget simple) - did you save the feature? And can you do the reverse - add it in Pro and see it just fine in ArcMap?

If shapefiles, they will be slow. Convert to fGDB. If shared with others, there may be contention. If you use a virtual processing environment, and you are using mapped drives, I can provide some very detailed performance help. That is how we work, and referencing a mapped drive that is on your PC through the virtual environment is an incredible performance killer, yes, sometimes when the layers are "ticked" off.

Yes - we use Citrix. Having a registry setting in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE for this instead of burying it in the user.config would be excellent, or a way to control the communication on the license manager. Users have custom configs, no way to blast this out to them without ruining their existing customizations. If anyone has resolved this I'd love to see that final solution. Thanks! Also, we have just gotten our contract renewal mid-December and have a ton of user management to do in order to conform to our new user counts. This is the reason we can't just deploy the updated license to remove this date coming through Portal to Pro.

This worked PERFECT for me too. Thanks! It is nice when the forums have good useful information, and people report back successes. NOTE: The pgsql tools all say "initial admin account and pw" and it means it, not sure how/if you can change the password but we do have a rigorous PW management/recycle/complexity standard and it took a bit to come up with the "original" password in order to run the pgsql tools. 🙂

Perhaps under DISPLAY options, swap between DirectX and OpenGL. If you do not have GPU you will have struggles. You might clear your cache, as well as be sure that the path directory for local cache is accessible with full control by you. Reboot daily to fully flush ram/cache? Some ideas.

So - for 2.4x and 2.5x, there seemed to be some .NET updates that really cratered the performance of Pro. A tip I got from ESRI was to disable spell check, which seems to help quite a bit. So far testing 2.6 and 2.7 this is no longer an issue. What a deal, constantly chasing gremlins which kill our productivity.

This has been an issue for my organization for 2.4 and 2.5. Premium support told us in a case in August that it was Windows KB .NET update KB4570723 and cumulative update KB456351. They said that .NET updates were to blame, and the recommendations were to not apply these patches and/or disable spell check. A supposedly fixed/improved layout bug was never part of the discussion. This does seem resolved at 2.6, but upgrades bring a whole new set of issues. So we have very heavy dependencies on 2.4 right now, our testing to upgrade enterprise to 10.8.1 has cases for bugs open since August as well. We have not been able to patch certain machines which we how feel are getting vulnerable. I want to be clear layouts were my issue, but the fixes mentioned here were never part of the solution and are projects and layouts are not nearly this complex. The only reason I stumbled on this Geonet article today is because we continue the fight against this, can't upgrade, can't patch, can't fix. Feeling stuck and frustrated. Perhaps participating in this article will assist us with a new approach. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I agree, this is a bug. I just had a case with ESRI, they could not reproduce. I don't get the same error (I did on a machine which I upgraded while having a borrowed license, actually a bad idea should have returned before upgrade) but I do have my licenses not returning from others who take offline. I can uncheck the borrow box, reconnect to my licensing portal and everything looks good in the client, but on my license manager (2019.2) it would still show that PC/Host had a borrowed license. Interesting thing - once the offline is complete the borrowed license does not show the user who borrowed it. Then it appears my only option is to wait for it to expire. While not able to do enough to get help from ESRI at this time, I think this will eventually make it to bug status. There is a flaw in the return process for sure. Meanwhile I continue to look for ways to reproduce it so ESRI might be able to on their side. I also was not able to make a difference returning it as an admin, but truth was it was already returned by the user, just check-in/receipt/release not completed by the license server.

Ok. I have a similar question. This is the closest match I have been able to come up with. I am looking for the same functionality that was in ArcCatalog where you could just right-click on an MXD and "set data source(s)". So far I find it annoying to set data source from within each layer's properties one at a time.

thank you for the suggestion. I think I am also really wanting to know just what the store is. I am an admin and am adding several e-Learning users just being sure I know what this default access provides.

Why is access to the ESRI store granted by default? What exactly does this entitle a user to do with respect to our organization? They can't commit to any purchases on behalf of the organization, can they? Is this necessary for e-Learning to be activated?
