@wayfaringrob yes it does, the layer for states is set to linear burn. I assume the "fixed" project is the one I received. Like I said I'm gonna talk to our CE person to review procedures and see if there's any process improvement support or dev can make in this regard.

@wayfaringrob again, apologies - it appears the analyst logged TWO cases from your incident, and only one made it our way (to development). I'll circle back with our customer experience lead to make sure this type of problem doesn't happen again and review what occurred (they have more visibility to the support side of things). FWIW, I opened the pptx that was provided to me for the BUG you quoted, and exported it to PDF with default settings. I was able to open the PDF in Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader with no error message. I will double-check this with current release (3.1.1) as I was testing on a daily build.

@wayfaringrob I must apologize then, since we did not receive any notice of the error message you describe in the support issue that we evaluated in our queue - nor did the people involved in triaging that issue experience the error message you describe. I went back and opened the repro ppkx provided and exported to PDF, it opens without the described error. What version of Adobe Acrobat are you using that is throwing this error?

Hi @wayfaringrob getting degraded appearance is different from getting an Adobe Acrobat error when opening the PDF. The repro case for the latter (error opening the PDF) should be shared with Esri Support as it might be a different concern. That said, FYI we are actually discussing amongst the responsible teams ways to raise awareness of things that go wrong during draw OR in export/print - it's something we want to tackle in a future release for sure - so thanks for reinforcing that with your feedback!

Andrew, there are a lot of different factors at play here, based on your report. We probably need to break down each one separately. You might be best to create a simple repro case that can be shared for the "too dark" appearance you showed above to start with. We would also need to know what your color management options are set to in the ArcGIS Pro options dialog (For instance, what settings for rendering intent) so a screenshot of that and also CM options for the Layout being output and your settings on export dialog would help us out. Can you provide this additional information for the "too dark" problem, so we can take a look?

Kyle, Weird problem - seems like your next step should be contacting Esri Support for more interactive troubleshooting. As an idea: If it won't even START exporting, then maybe there's something wrong with the map itself. You could try sharing as map package (mpkx), then unpackage the mpkx into a new blank project. Hopefully the act of packaging and unpackaging will fix whatever was breaking the export. Just an idea, beyond that I think you're probably best contacting support (And you'll have already created the mpkx to share with them as the repro case).

@Amanda_Huber I'm not sure, that's why I attempted to ping Sarah. I'll ping the M4ACC team via email and see if they've ever seen this artifact and if they know of any workarounds, or we can get your data (a ppkx for example) and try it out too.

@Amanda for the faint lines in PDF, there is a "enhancement" setting in Adobe Reader/Acrobat that makes this happen. Turn off "enhance thin lines" in display settings to get rid of the artifact. @SarahBell is the thick tile lines showing in AIX in illustrator a known issue?

Lots of possibilities here, so it's best if you contact Esri Support directly and give them your repro case. As a start for troubleshooting, try lowering the output resolution. You can also attempt to export as image - either of these strategies should help if the problem is the sheer volume of vector data.

Please package your project (Share->Project PAckage) and send it in to Esri support along with steps to reproduce the problem so someone can more interactively evaluate the bug and if needs be log an issue for development to investigate. Additionally, consider updating to the latest ArcGIS Pro release to take advantage of the newest bug fixes and enhancements.

Docking stations are fun. From my experience, sometimes only certain USB-C ports on laptops will successfully use thunderbolt to display, so trying a different USB-C port might help in this case. additionally, some laptops will only use integrated GPU when connected to docking station if the laptop is closed, which is another fun discovery. SEMI-PROTIP: using the GPU activity in the Performance tab of Task Manager will help you figure out which GPU is being used when you have low performance.
