Wil, You can verify whether it is using AGOL by using a debugging proxy such as Telerik Fiddler. This gives a report of each http access. You can even add a "time elapsed" to the readout so you can see how long each request is taking. It's a powerful (and free) troubleshooting tool for any web-enabled application. If you want to remove the default elevation, you can do so from map properties->elevation surface. Remove the reference to elevation3d.arcgis.com to remove the global elevation source coming from ArcGIS Online. If you want your TIN data ONLY as an elevation, don't add them as layers in the map. Instead, ONLY add them in the elevation surface dialog as elevation sources for the ground. this way you won't see them draped on the surface at all, but you'll still be using them directly as elevation for your imagery. This support got even better at 1.1 as we added lighting support rather than baking the lighting into the TIN.

Kevin, You will get a warning if you import an MXD that has this problem. But yeah, right now there's no UI to warn you about undefined projection data in 3d views. Were you in Global Scene or Local Scene? Regards, Jeremy W.

Tripp, This sounds like it could be a bug. Is your data from the file geodatabase in a PCS or GCS? Is it points, lines, or polygons? Also, can you please submit to tech support with your repro data so we can investigate? Regards, Jeremy W.

Bryan, If I recall correctly that ability wasn't in Pro 1.0 or available in the beta of 1.1. Look for these enhancements in the release of Pro 1.1, which is in final certification testing now. Regards, Jeremy W.

Ted, It sounds like you're not asking about the developer API. It sounds like you're asking if ArcGIS Pro was built on Runtime for .NET. If that's your question - the short answer is no. LONG ANSWER: The visualization system in Pro for 2D evolved from the visualization engine and mapping system we originally built for server at 9.3.1, and also used in "Basemap Layers" and "Accelerated Rasters" at 10.0. Obviously we've added quite a few new features since then, not the least of which is the 3D side of visualization .

in your original email you listed the contents of the crash dialog (including "Faulting Module") My question is: when you switch to OpenGL and it crashes, what is listed on the crash dialog?

John, if you're still having trouble, try loading Telerik Fiddler and see if your requests are getting blocked or throttled by OSM. You can also contact Esri support directly to get more interactive help on this issue. Regards, Jeremy W.

Hi Paul, Actually I talked to the team and the layer type I was talking about SHOULD BE fully supported in Pro 1.1 beta. So if you have a case that is not working still (not the offset thing - that we have a fix for) please submit it with a repro case to tech support so it can go to the appropriate team for triage ASAP. Regards, Jeremy W.

Paul, I investigated the issue with your basemap drawing improperly and found that it was only reproducible on some machines, which lead us to a probable cause in the graphics engine. I've assigned the defect to the responsible developer on my team, and we're working on a fix to be included in Pro 1.1 final. FYI, the other issue of the basemaps not displaying at all in pro may be due to them using an as-yet-unsupported-in-pro layer type. Unfortunately no UI warnings exist to warn you of this lack of support. I'll confirm this with the responsible team here and check with them as to ETA of support for this layer type. Regards, Jeremy W.
