Reaching out to anyone who has developed a survey based on existing data that includes a Table based repeat, AND using field app in Windows to access the survey. If so, and you were able to Add repeat Table records and then see them after refreshing INBOX, I would be most interested. Thanks kindly, BKS

I consider myself a rather experienced S123 creator and I'm having an issue with a survey I'm creating from fGDB. Essentially, I have a parent FC, a child FC based on a relationship class, and a child Table based on a relationship class. I'm using Global IDs and GUIDs for the composite relationships. The plan is to use the INBOX capabilities to allow Windows users to update this data via a survey with two repeats. I am aware that it is not possible to delete repeat records via the field app but that is "ok" as long as they can add additional ones. This is the issue. When I test the survey, I am able to load survey records and corresponding repeat records from both the FC and the Table. All is good. However, when I ADD a repeat record to the Table and submit the survey without any error, refresh the INBOX and reload the same survey, the additional records in the Table are not shown. The number of related records remains at same amount as the pre-additional records edit number. However, upon looking at the Feature Layer in AGOL, the new records in the related Table are indeed there. So the Add capability with the Table repeat is working but I cannot see these records in the survey (after refreshing the INBOX of course). I tried deleted the survey and redownloading it, with the same issue. The same Add capability with the child FC works perfectly. That is, I can see the additional records after the Add. I tried this same survey on my Android phone and BOTH the FC and the Table work as expected (i.e. the additional Table records are there). I will be reporting this as a bug but just wondering if anyone has any ideas that might make for a solution rather than hope for a development cycle fix ? One I had was to turn the related Table into an FC. Any other ideas from those that edit existing data using S123 ??? Thanks Kindly. Adding my support for this idea. We have between 50 to 150 repeat records to cycle through before locating the one we wish to update.

I'm using the format-date function to extract the various elements of date and time as follows but I cannot get the last element (0 padded seconds) to be anything other than 00 (i.e. '%S' below). string(format-date(${dc_date},'%y')) + string(format-date(${dc_date},'%m')) + string(format-date(${dc_date},'%d')) + string(format-date(${dc_date},'%H')) + string(format-date(${dc_date},'%M')) + string(format-date(${dc_date},'%S')) dc_date is defined as a datetime field with a default value of now() and bind::esri:fieldType to esriFieldTypeDate. s_id is defined as a text field with the calculation set to the format-date function above and bind::esri:fieldType to esriFieldTypeString I've tried changing the fieldTypes but this didn't have any impact. Survey form spreadsheet with these two records is attached. Anyone else with this issue / solution? The result of the format-date calculation is as follows with the 00 at the end for seconds every time: 220707131700

@DeonLengton thanks so much. That blog gave me some great ideas and I'm using your PDF file solution for my short videos. It's unfortunate there's no "variable" I could access instead of hardwiring the path to our Windows devices (not android). If so, perhaps I could have made it work on any device's "media" folder. I do have a question for you though. I loaded the video in the media folder, published the survey (which creates the item id) with S123 Connect, updated the note label to refer to the disk location that includes the item id. Then published again. Finally I used the Windows S123 Field App to download the survey and it works as expected. QUESTION - when I publish the survey from Connect, does it include the contents of the media folder? and if so, where does it do this? I did not see it anywhere in AGOL? Thanks again, BKS

@PetronilaMandeno thanks for the ideas. If these videos were large or if the users had internet access frequently, then that would be the way I would go. But these users are often offline due to remoteness and the videos are only about 2-5 MB in size.

We are about to roll out some surveys and we've created some small instructional videos on various aspects of the surveys. These are approx 2-5 MB in size. I was wondering if it would be possible to do the following: 1) have the video automatically download when the survey is downloaded (i.e. perhaps load it into the survey media folder - not sure if that would do it)? 2) have links in the survey (perhaps in a note field) that references each video from the media folder. when you click on the link it runs the video on the device. If these are both possible, is there a technique to reference the media folder or where ever it is loaded such that it would work with the survey on Windows, Android, iOS ? If this is not reasonably possible, if you have any thoughts on how to do this please advise. Thanks for any input, BKS

Can someone recommend or provide their experience using an external GPS receiver with S123 on a Surface Pro 7+ device? The accuracy of the GPS is not critical. Something within a meter or so would be plenty accurate. The purpose is to record a reasonably accurate location of assets in the field whilst offline. I know ESRI has a page that defines some GPS high-accuracy receivers but I'm interested in experience of others and, as I said, high accuracy is not a requirement in our case. https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/get-answers/high-accuracy-use.htm Also curious of approximate costs of receiver if you know. Thanks, BKS

I have a data collection exercise where the data collectors will be interfacing with multiple surveys whilst in the field and offline. These surveys will take place in a very large remote areas without internet or cell access (hence the offline maps (mmpk)). I have created an offline map for the extent of a Canadian province (168.8 MB). This appears to work ok, however, since I have 4 separate surveys, I *think* I will need to download the mmpks to each survey. Does anyone know if there is a way for me to download it once and access it from each survey??? Many thanks, BKS

@ILoveMap. Funny you should ask. That was so long ago and I'm just about to be looking at this again in the next week or so. I do not have a solution yet but I'm hopeful I'll be able to resolve this in the coming weeks. Also, ESRI Canada is putting on a webinar next Feb 8 for taking their Community Map of Canada offline. I'm somewhat optimistic this might be helpful to my requirement. Sounds like you are in USA but you might find this useful regardless. I will post whatever I learn in the coming weeks if you can please do the same it would be much appreciated.

Hello, Perhaps someone can help me out. I have a perfectly functioning inspection survey operating in an ArcGIS Enterprise platform. We have the need to migrate this to AGOL. The survey is based on a published FL consisting of an asset FC, a related inspection table, and attachments enabled on the inspection table. Between each of these entities are relationship classes (RCs). Per the S123 documentation, the relationship classes are based on GlobalID and GUID fields. This inspection has been in use for a little while and they have created a number of inspections. I did the following to port it to AGOL: Enterprise... 1) Exported FL to fGDB and downloaded as zip. 2) Downloaded, unzipped and reviewed in ArcGIS Pro. All looks good. AGOL... 3) Published the FL contents to AGOL using ArcGIS Pro, Publish Web Layer Reviewed the FL in a classic map viewer and all looked good. I can select one asset from the table, and I can see the related inspection table record using Show (1) at end of asset table. I can also see the inspection attachments via Show (4) at end of the inspection table. So all relationships seem to be fine as far as I can tell. 4) Using S123 Connect, created new survey based on this FL (which I've done before but this time there is data in the FL). 5) Copied the contents of the XLS form from Enterprise into the newly created survey based on the AGOL FL (Made sure not to modify the form_id or submission URL). 6) Published the new survey with all Options checked. 7) Updated the web map and shared the survey as I always do. I'm not 100% sure but I suspect what I have done is a reasonable approach. If someone has a better approach (e.g. way to xfer FL from Enterprise to AGOL without exporting to fGDB please let me know). The Problem... when I go to submit it seems to upload the survey contents and attachments but then says the following and the survey remains in the Outbox. When I open up the Data tab in S123 website, I can see all of the data, HOWEVER, when I select a record n the asset table, it does NOT select any records in the inspection related table (i.e. I have the "Automatically select related records" setting checked). Another clue, when I have the Form View active (i.e. it shows the selected data in a rudimentary form), and I select a inspection related record, it gives me following error: Any suggestions? Next steps? Note - Except for the fact that this FL has data in it, I've done this before and it's worked fine. I created an empty FC, related table based on GlobalIDs and GUID and setup RC and added attachments to the related inspection table. I published this empty dataset as a web layer and went through the steps above. This all worked fine. Not sure why there's an issue this time. Note - I have checked again in AGOL that the relationships between asset, inspection and inspection attachments appear to be working fine via Map Viewer Classic.

Hello In the off chance someone else may have experienced something similar, I'm creating a report to print from the data in a FL. I've created a simple 2 page EB (page 1 I select the feature in the FL, page 2 I have scrolling page of dynamic text so I can print the report). The data is sufficient to create a multi-page PDF report (8.5 x 11) each time. Although this solution is far from ideal, it does work if I use a 3rd party browser extension like GoFullPage.com to create a screen capture of the entire 2nd web page, and it also allows me to print to PDF. All good, except I'm in a public organization where adding 3rd party browser extension is not permitted. Work-around... Use either the Chrome developer tools built in to capture the "screen shot full page", OR use Edge's "Web Capture" tool built in to do the same. From there I would need to convert it to a multi-page PDF file. Problem: For reasons beyond my understanding, neither of these built in browser tools recognize the EB scrolling page as a scrolling page. So they fail to capture the entire page as they are designed to do. For other long web pages (e.g. wikipedia, etc), they work as expected. Does anyone know why this might be, and how to work around it using standard business software that one might find in a gov't institution, e.g. windows, ms office, edge, chrome, adobe, etc. Any input (including different ideas) are appreciated. thanks, BKS
