I'd be interested to know this as well - both Enterprise and Pro have been around for years so I'm not sure either would qualify for "early adopter" status but an early access program for organizations that need to plan adoption and rollout strategies would be super helpful.

Any chance we'll ever be able to specify an icon or FontImageSource as the source for a RuntimeImage... specifically to use as the ButtonImage in a callout?

I'd check in with your ESRI rep - I will say that automated service publishing is something we do all the time with standalone ArcGIS Server and it's totally fine. Doing that in Portal is sort of a unique twist on that and I'm not quite sure what the correct path would be from a license-compliance perspective. Hopefully there is someone from ESRI who can weigh in on this thread.

My guess is you need to set up your script to run under a service account that is tied to a named user, however setting things up this way with Portal probably violates your ESRI user agreement.

It would be fantastic if this could be implemented with an option for a generic bearing and distance entry. We currently use the Bad Elf Flex with a paired Truepulse 360 for higher-precision offset data collection, but in a lot of cases another instrument can be used to quickly determine the bering and distance for entry into Field Maps.

Hi I'm trying to run ESRI's ProPat performance testing benchmark tools using a personal license of ArcGIS Pro. My interpretation of the marketing page was that extensions are included with the license: However when I authorize Pro using my personal use account extensions are not available Can someone clarify if this is supposed to be a thing?

Thanks randoodlydingdangdodlyWilliams... if that is your real name. It would be great if ESRI could include guidance or advice on the "fix" applied by tools like this: https://github.com/logpresso/CVE-2021-44228-Scanner I understand you would prefer everyone update their ArcGIS Enterprise servers to 10.8.1+ but here it is 2021 and ArcGIS Server upgrades continue to be multi-day affairs, fraught with peril, requiring system snapshots and frequently failing and requiring rollbacks. There is a reason so many customers are not on the latest version of AGS.

See this link for details: https://blog.cloudflare.com/inside-the-log4j2-vulnerability-cve-2021-44228/ Essentially someone can trigger a URL and download a payload if Log4j has access to the internet. The application doesn't have to have anything to do with LDAP it's just a way to trigger the URL. With a : present in the key, as in Example Removed to get through ESRI WAF there’s no prefix and the LDAP server is queried for the object. And these Lookups can be used in both the configuration of Log4j as well as when lines are logged. So all an attacker has to do is find some input that gets logged and add something like Example Removed to get through ESRI WAF. This could be a common HTTP header like User-Agent(that commonly gets logged) or perhaps a form parameter like username that might also be logged.

Great news - Standalone mobile geodatabases is huge. We are seeing more and more apps where the ESRI bits are components of a larger app and we need to primarily interact with custom APIs. Fantastic timing on this 🙂

Have created a map in our AGOL tenant using a registered feature service from ArcGIS Server 10.6.1. Popup definitions created in the new non-beta map viewer don't seem to be used by Field Maps. Popup definitions created with the "classic map viewer" do seem to work. Why?

The 10.2.x to 100.x transition is large enough that in some cases it is more efficient to just rebuild the app from a clean slate. For cases where that wasn't possible for us we were averaging 60-80 hours to get everything converted over. The largest shift for us (with Objective C) was the change to completion blocks for loading feature tables and geodatabses.

Hi Kerry - Over the years we've looked into options for offline communication and data sharing between field crews including evaluating some of the ideas behind, if not quite the implementation of, Atak from DOD. That sort of domain-specific functionality really hasn't been the right fit for what we were envisioning, but I am intrigued by the COT interoperability of the GeoChat functionality and the ability to attach features as described in the Mission Responder literature. I'll be honest, at this point that's about as far as we've been able to get - our ESRI BPA client managers informed us that Mission Responder was not available for evaluation in our lab environment due to some IP licensing costs so I have yet to see it in action. I think at the end of the day we are interested in implementing a common field safety and coordination layer across our apps that would facilitate communication and location sharing between app users in a disconnected environment. This would be independent of any data collection/sync workflow and probably be geared specifically toward intra-team coordination as opposed to sending track logs back to a central server like the tracking functionality in Field Maps. We have been looking at possibly using the Brigefy API do implement this, however I figured it was worth asking if this is an area where ESRI is thinking of supporting before we go off and roll our own solution. We've had the experience over the years (offline, location tracking, building floorpans, external GNSS, etc...) where we implement our own solution to something only to have ESRI roll something out a year or two later. Not a terrible problem to have, but we do try to plan ahead when possible 🙂

ArcGIS Mission has some unique and compelling offline capabilities. It seems like some of this functionality may have been implemented using a 3rd party technology stack. Would it be possible to include APIs related to this functionality in Runtime for customers who choose to license the 3rd party tech stack?

This has been posted elsewhere in the ideas forums for AGOL and ArcGIS, but it would be super swell if Field Maps could support viewing 360 photo spheres captured by cameras like the Insta360 One X and similar cameras. These are equirectangular projection photos that look a bit like this: But in a proper viewer display normally and can be panned around by the user: These types of photos are incredibly useful for documenting facilities. Facebook has a pretty helpful guide to identifying these types of photos using the EXIF tags captured by the cameras: https://facebook360.fb.com/editing-360-photos-injecting-metadata/ We have successfully implemented support for these cameras in our own Runtime SDK-based apps and it would be super great if Field Maps could support them as well.
