Hello, This is a known issue on Workforce (Android); we're implementing support for App Integration, but at this time, Collector (Android) does not support a URL scheme which is why the option to open Collector from Workforce is missing on Android. We're working on adding this support for our 1.0 release for Workforce (Android). Craig

Yes, that's what I was thinking. A few other sites have followed a similar workflow with success.

Tom, We do not provide the ability to customize the Create Assignment page, on the specific requests: 1. We are looking at providing this capability once other work is completed within ArcGIS platform. 2. There's a few ways you can do this; one idea is to use a Python script to parse out the pieces of the form that are needed to construct the URL scheme for Survey123 and include it in the Description. This can all be done through Python. You can use this post from the Survey123 team to help understand the URL scheme; https://community.esri.com/groups/survey123/blog/2016/07/30/understanding-survey123s-custom-url-scheme . We do plan on improving our App Integration support in future releases to provide the ability to pass more information between Workforce and Survey123. Craig

Thomas, good news that using the World Geocoder works. No, I don't believe there is anything you can do to your geocoder, the issue is with Workforce and how we're consuming the Geocoder. Can you invite me to you org? I can then take a look at the Geocoder and make sure that it works with our 1.1 release. Craig

Thomas, I believe what you're experiencing is a known issue. We're working on improving the Assignment creation experience when the Workforce web app experiences as issue performing a reverse geocode due to the Locator. These will be in the 1.1 release we're currently working on which should be released in a few weeks. Are you using a custom locator? Can you try setting the Esri World Geocoder as the default geocoder for your organization and try to reproduce the issue? Craig

Hi Caleb, I can repro what you're describing. It has to do with how we're displaying the Assignments and Workers layers within the Workforce web app. One alternative for this is to display the features on top of the Assignments in the Dispatcher web map. You can change the layer ordering the ArcGIS Online map viewer. Craig

Hi Steve, Yes, thanks for your comments and feedback on this, I understand what your scenario. The model with Workforce is to separate these 2 concepts; which provides us with the ability to tailor an experience in Workforce for updating/reviewing Work Assignments that is independent of Collector or Survey123 and allow those apps to create and provide an experience tailored for their use cases and workflows. It also allows us to satisfy workflows and use cases with Workforce that do not require data or survey collection. We believe that we can provide a seamless experience between the different apps. We have several sites who originally had the same request but implemented the recommendation I made above and are successful in this. We're also working on improving the communication and transition between the apps. We have gotten the request to allow the editing of some user defined fields on the Assignments feature service and I'll make sure to add your feedback and comments to the issue. For the time being, my original recommendation on how to handle the use case is the best course of action. Craig

Hi Caleb, I'm not able to reproduce this issue - I can set transparency on a polygon layer and it is reflected in both the web and iOS mobile apps. Do you have any other info you can share on a repro case? thanks

Caleb, thanks for trying out Workforce and for asking this question. You're not missing anything, there is no way in the app to Archive or Delete assignments. From our user discussions, it was clear that Dispatchers should not be able to delete assignments, even if they've been completed. The ability to Archive assignments is something we considered, but since there are many ways people want to archive assignments, we went with a different approach. We've written several scripts in our github repo: GitHub - Esri/workforce-scripts: A set of scripts to help administer Workforce projects. These demonstrate how to delete and/or copy assignments to another feature service. These scripts can be set-up to run against the workforce project and can clear out any assignments that satisfy the query. We feel that this script and the flexibility it provides is a better alternative to providing an in-app experience for removing assignments. Craig

Jennifer, actually we do not recommend this as a solution. The Collector type keyword was intentionally removed from the web maps that are created with Workforce so they cannot be used in Collector. The web maps created with a Workforce Project are meant for use in Workforce and we do not recommend they be used in Collector. If web maps are needed in Collector, they should be created for that purpose and should not be the web maps used in Workforce. Can you go into more detail on your workflow and use case for needing the web maps in Collector? Craig

Hi Steve, As long as there is a feature service/layer storing the excavation permits; this layer can be added to the Dispatcher web map so it's visible to the Dispatcher. We have a doc topic on this Create your first project—Workforce for ArcGIS | ArcGIS "Customize the Map" The Dispatcher (Staff Member B) can select any of the points from the feature layer and create an assignment at that location. They are not converting the point to an assignment, but creating a new assignment at the location of the point. What you're trying to achieve should be possible now with the current version of Workforce. Craig
