Hi, I am using the latest stable build of the survey 123 app on a 5th generation Ipad mini. When I attempt to add an image to the survey, the camera interface displays a distorted field of view, stretched a bit horizontally and cropped vertically. The actual image capture looks correct but it is hard to tell if we are capturing the full image because of the cropping that occurs in the view. Is there a setting for aspect ratio that needs to be set to work correctly with an Ipad mini? Display looks good on the iphone. b

Greetings, I am using version 3.9 of Connect to create a survey. I would like to collect the name of the GPS receiver that is being used when data is submitted with the form. I have included a text type field with the name positionsourceinfo and a calculation of: pulldata("@geopoint",${location},"positionSourceInfo.deviceName"). Is this correct? I am able to collect the receiver name for a bad elf and trimble R1 but the field is left blank when the integrated GPS is used. On a related note, I would like to include in the esri warning message a notification that the user is using the integrated GPS and not the BT GPS. How would I do that? I attached the xls form. b

Happy to have found this discussion. I think similar to Teresa, I was confused about how Survey123 documentation suggests publicly available forms are supported, and yet, you can't login to the survey123 app without an organizational account. The link option described above does work, which is nice, but not straightforward. The primary reason we would prefer the app over a browser is that our users are collecting information in offline environments. Why not allow public AGOL accounts to login to the survey 123 app? Would be nice to be able to know who submitted the data without requiring a text field to be filled out each time a record is created. Would also be nice if a user could use the "download surveys" approach rather than have to use a link sent to them in an email. b

Hi, I am creating my first Pro layout and am struggling with a couple basic things. I have tried searching help and have learned a lot, but I have lingering questions: I inserted a text rectangle and can't figure out how to include a bulleted list. I inserted a text rectangle and can't figure out how to format a portion of a sentence. I have reviewed this page, but have not been able to get a portion of a sentence formatted using the <BOL>Text</BOL> tags. Does this not work in a text rectangle? Thanks

Hi, I have 50 aerials images (.tif, 4 band, 8 bit unsigned, 30cm). I created a mosaic dataset to display them. Then I use the mosaic to new raster tool to create a raster that I can run a supervised image classification on. I have been unable to get the new raster to come together correctly. I have tried many different settings and the result always includes areas that are black, no data or 0,0,0 areas. These areas display as having data when I load the image tiles individually but I must admit I can't seem to get the display of the mosaic dataset to work very well either. build overviews or no? build pyramids or no? How many levels? what about statistics? I have hunted for straightforward guidance on 4 band .tifs but have had no luck so have been running the trial and error gamut and have yet to get the mosaic or new raster from mosaic to display well at a range of full extent down to 1:5000. What parameters should I be focusing on in troubleshooting this?

Hi Jonathan, any news here? I need a fix by May so if it is not forthcoming, can you recommend a different receiver that is suitable for creating lines for a road system while driving 20-40 mph? Thanks. b

Greetings, I am looking for advice on building a cost vs benefits model. I am using ArcGIS Pro and have the Spatial Analyst extension. I am working with a rural community on assessing the costs and benefits of maintaining their road system. Each road segment has a estimated cost per year for maintenance and I am trying to figure out a way to estimate benefits made available to the community by maintaining each road segment. The values we would like to use for the benefits side of the equation would come from a combination of layers: a raster for vegetation and a point file for points of interest. I was thinking of using a buffer for the road to generate a value for each segment, but was also hoping to include some recognition of the values that may not be within the buffer distance but are accessible further down the road because the road segment in question provides access to other road segments with very high values. Any ideas or references would be greatly appreciated. bob

Hi, I am cleaning up polylines in a 100,000 acre area that were originally created using a GPS while driving. I need to clean these lines up at about 1:5,000 so I can see how they align with a high resolution DEM and I am getting lost as far as knowing where I have already checked the polylines within the project area. Is there a way to create a grid that would indicated where I have already done the editing? I can imagine creating a shapefile that grids the project area into equal areas of 1,000 acres (how to do that?) with two classes, one for "reviewed" and one for "not reviewed", and then manually editing the shapefile grid to help me keep track, but this seems kinda clunky and I was wondering what other folks do in this kind of situation. Thanks~

Hi there, I am adding newly acquired ortho images to an arcgis pro project and the display does not look very good compared to adding the same images to an arcmap project. What can I do with pro settings to insure that ortho images display the most detail at all scales? Thank you. b

Thanks Kory, I think that worked for me. Still working on a method to remove the second version of the features to clean the data up after getting the distances, but I can probably figure that out... b

Hi, I have two point shapefiles, one that is the original data, and one that is corrected data. The shapefiles share several fields, including common feature IDs, but the points in the corrected version have been moved to their correct positions using arcgis collector in the field. Now I wold like to compare the original and corrected versions of these shapefiles so that I can include a new field in the corrected version that displays the distance between the original point and the corrected point. Is there a simple way to do this in ArcGIS pro? I have investigated the NEAR tool but this does not appear to be quite right. I only want to calculate the distance between locations of points that share a common ID, not all points within a search radius. Or am I missing something there? Thanks, bob
