Thanks Bern, we took Hub for a test drive about a year ago and it was a little frustrating, especially for the price. I will take another look and see what kind of improvements are listed in the changelog. Thanks again for your input.

Howdy Mark, are you on the explorer team? That is what my memory is telling me. I think a mobile map might work OK. What is the latest workflow on that? Can I provide a web link to download a mobile map package to a tablet or phone (e.g. to iOS Files) and then get ArcGIS explorer (with a public account login) to find it? The workflow needs to be very simple and can't require sideloading. Our target audience does not have a lot of access to technology beyond a cell phone. One of the other complications we are working with is that we would like to link the map to a survey 123 form so we can get community feedback on the map and how they are using it, as well as identify priority areas for land management. My understanding is that survey123 forms area also not accessible, at least not very easily, when offline and logged in with a public user account. Thanks again for looking in on this topic. I would be happy to talk more via phone or something to check in with you on some of the other challenges we are facing with the way AGOL currently works, or does not work, when trying to connect organizational content to public account users, especially privacy issues. Thanks Bern, I appreciate the response. We are interested in providing access to offline maps to potentially hundreds of people and do not want to make them members of our organization so I do not think the charitable options will work for us. Do you know if the option to download maps for offline use is simply not in the planning pipeline for public account users? I am curious as to why if that is the case, but the more important issue is our own long term planning for such a solution and it would be helpful to know if ESRI is off the table or not. Thanks again. b

Hi, I am wondering if there are plans to support a public account being able to download AGOL maps for offline use. For example, will a user of the ArcGIS Explorer app who has logged into a public account be able to download a map for offline use anytime in the near future? If not, why not? We work with economically poor rural communities and would like to provide maps that folks can use to hunt and gather while they are outside of cell range (most of their environment). It is frustrating that we can get folks up to the point where they can see these maps while they are in town, but if they would like to use the maps out in the bush, where they need these maps, they are no long accessible. These folks cannot afford to spend 100 per year per person to make use of these maps. Seems a pity and I do not see the gain in the current business model, if that is the reason. b

Howdy Jonathan, I recently explored options for generating .mbtiles from ESRI products and found that the easiest way to get the job done was to use QGIS. QGIS is free GIS software and has built in capacity for vector or raster mbtiles in version 3.18. I believe there are plugins that you can install to add this functionality to earlier version of QGIS. I am still wishing that this would be possible directly within ArcGIS Pro but it was not difficult to learn the basics of QGIS for this task. b

Hi, While adding data in arcgis pro, I find the behavior of starting in the previous folder pretty annoying. It would be fine if the dialog box opened immediately in the previous folder, but it does not. It takes a second or two for the add data folder explorer to find its way back to the last used folder. in the meantime, I have already clicked on two or three folders to navigate to the new location when I am suddenly over ruled and taken back to the last folder I added data from. It seems like this should happen faster so I am seeking some advice on changing relevant settings or turning this feature off. Does the indexing feature of ArcPro impact the speed at which the add data folder explorer finds it way back to the last used folder? Something else that influences the speed of this operation? If I can't figure out how to speed this process up - Is there a setting to turn this feature off? Thanks. b

Hi Shwu-jing, thanks for the reply. Sorry I did not see this sooner. I am using the latest stable version of the survey 123 app on the latest stable build of iOS. The stretching occurs on both an ipad mini and an 11 inch pro. I attached a couple photos to give you a better idea of what is going on. Picture A is a photo of what the display looks like while taking a photo using survey 123. The photo is of a perfect circle and it is clear that the display is distorted. Photo B is the resultant photo taken by survey123, which is not distorted. So the good news is that the photo taken by survey 123 is not distorted, the bad news is that the display during the process of taking the photo IS distorted. The photos are also cropped so that it is not possible to see in the photo display the full frame of the resultant photo. This requires some guessing to properly frame the photo.

Hi, I am hoping to support people using maps that I make, or data I create, in an offline environment. The only way I can figure out how to do this is to provide a mobile map package to folks using ArcGIS Explorer. Is this truly the only way? Are there plans to support public accounts downloading map areas in any ESRI apps in the near future? Thanks. b

Hi, I have a couple versions of a hosted feature layer that were created with two slightly different versions of a survey 123 form. Both hosted feature layers include attachments. I would like to merge these two hosted feature layers so I can create maps and dashboard elements using just one. I have attempted to append a zipped FGDB to the target layer and everything worked smoothly except the attachments do not appear to have made it. The FGDB took quite a while to upload, suggesting the attachments were uploaded, but I am not seeing them in the pop up via a web map like I do for the previously existing features. Any advice? b

Hi, Is there a limit to the number of characters that are allowed for symbolizing raster data? I have a text field that has up to 150 characters of explanatory type text that I want to symbolize with but it does not appear to work. The attributes with fewer characters seem to work OK. If there is a character limit, is there a way to use one field for the symbology value and a second field for the symbology label? Ultimate destination is AGOL tile layer. Thanks b

I experimented with creating a vector layer just to include the symbology for the raster and it works OK, but the legend item descriptions are too long to see them in the legend using explorer... so there is another issue to overcome. Can I control how the legend items display so that the text wraps, or something, so the user can see the full item description?

Greetings, I have created a few tile packages from raster images, notably a vegetation classification, and want to include in a map package for use in explorer. The tile package method does not appear to support legends in explorer and I am wondering what folks have done to work around this limitation? I am considering making a dummy vector layer that includes all the vegetation classes and symbology of the .tpk and including that in the map package. Other approaches that are less clunky? b

Hi, I am using the latest stable build of the survey 123 app on a 5th generation Ipad mini. When I attempt to add an image to the survey, the camera interface displays a distorted field of view, stretched a bit horizontally and cropped vertically. The actual image capture looks correct but it is hard to tell if we are capturing the full image because of the cropping that occurs in the view. Is there a setting for aspect ratio that needs to be set to work correctly with an Ipad mini? Display looks good on the iphone. b
