Not quite yet. We do have plans to let you customize the app capabilities, for each individual map, using the Field Maps web app. For a dropped pin, were you wanting to remove the other tools (Directions, Compass, Add to My Places)? Jeff

Thanks for posting @Anonymous User. I think we might need more information about your workflow, but there are 2 primary ways that you can capture a new feature in Field Map: 1. Tap the Add button that is on top of the map. 2. Long press on the map so that it drops a pin where you want to capture the observation and then tap "Collect Here". If you are wanting to touch the map at the location of where the observation should be captured, this second method may address your needs? If not, can you please provide some more information? Thanks.

>I didn't think about extending the pipeline by tapping it in edit - would that work with streaming? Tapping edit on a feature puts you right back into the collect mode again so you can start streaming if you like. > ...quick collects for multiple default choices perhaps when the field collection might have 3 or 4 standard collection types. That's the most probable path forward - configure a set of feature templates that could be used for rapid collection - it would just apply default values for you. > Sounds like one would have to define/select the relevant pipeline while collecting the valve in order to establish the specific point-line relationship in the project. Yes, exactly. Just like you work with relationship classes today in Collector (or Field Maps). If you stream capture of the pipeline feature, then tap Submit, the feature is selected and the pop-up is shown. From the pop-up, you can access the related table and tap add to add a new one. When you do so, it will require a point geometry for the valve. I think it would be worth exploring to see if the workflow meets your needs until we can properly address the nested features requirement

Thanks for the post @EricCollinsOVV, and for the pipeline example as well. We are looking at how we can satisfy this requirement within the existing workflow for collect. Though not a solution, have you considered submitting the pipeline feature, adding the valve and then tapping on the pipeline feature again to extend it? It is a lot of taps but may be a short term solution - until we address the requirement. This won't work for polygon features unfortunately. Also, if you do establish a feature-to-feature relationship class where the pipeline feature is the origin and the valves are the destination class with a 1:M using GlobalID -> GUID, this should enforce the relationship and work. You can just treat the valves like you would a related table. We are also considering a rapid collection tool as well - where you you can tap the tool and it would automatically place the location with default attributes. Is this something that you all would be interested in? @AdamStewart - would be interested in hearing your workflow as well. Sounds like you've had to link between Collector and Survey123. We'd like to solve this within 1, map-centric app, if we can. That way you don't have to manage and deploy 2 apps.

Hi @SteveTaylor6 - with the convergence of Explorer and Collector into Field Maps, we did not want to change the default behavior expected for either app. So if you open a map that is read-only, it should open to the default extent that you authored the map to. If you open a map that you can edit, it should open to your current GPS location so that it establishes the GPS connection (especially for external receivers) before you start collection. Opinions vary on the most effective method for opening the map. We'd like feedback on this moving forward. Please share your thoughts! Thanks, Jeff

Hi @TimSolomonson - this article may help you in how to extract photos from attachments in ArcGIS Pro. You will need to export the feature Ωservice as a FileGDB first. Then you should be able to use the photos directly within your story maps. You could consider using the layer in an ArcGIS Dashboard as well. Dashboards will recognize attachments directly. Hope this helps!

Welcome @BClaridge and thank you for your post. Unfortunately this capability is not available yet. With the current support for Arcade expressions in Field Maps, we use the constraint profile and evaluate an expression for the purpose of displaying/not displaying fields. Use of the field calculate profile is on our roadmap and is perhaps the most important smart form feature for us to complete in 2021. Please let us know what types of calculate expressions you are looking to accomplish. We are looking for examples to help us drive priority of requirements. Thanks!

Hi @bobwright - this is in our roadmap, yes. With our work in smart forms. we will be adding the ability to calculate field values using an expression. The FeatureSet capabilities of the Arcade expression language will let you do this when connected or when offline. Please look for announcements on this development work starting mid-2021.

Slight update. We won't be in a position to provide a download of the web app setup until early in January. It will be available from the my.esri.com website as soon as we can make it available.

Hi @Gisbert61 - thanks for your feedback. We are relatively new into supporting the Apple Watch. We added support for tracking into ArcGIS Tracker due to specific customer asks and brought that forward within Field Maps. We document the requirements for watch here, and require WatchOS 6 or higher: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/field-maps/faq/requirements.htm Would really like to gather feedback on what you feel would be useful to do on the watch. Some of our team ideas include: - Display of compass bearing and direction when using the compass tool - Start/Stop streaming when capturing line and polygon shapes - Display of GPS information (what is inside of the GPS banner today) - View/Change working status when Workforce is added to Field Maps Let us know what you would like to see and how you feel it could benefit your workflows. We want to make sure to focus on purposeful enhancements.

Hi @Sietse_de_Haan, Thank you for your post. Unfortunately this is a known limitation right now and is an issue within the ArcGIS Field Maps app, Collector app, and underlying ArcGIS Runtime SDKs as well. You may find that you won't be able to identify features in layers that are grouped as well. We are working to resolve this. The resolution will be in a future version of the ArcGIS Field Maps app. Thanks!

As mentioned above, YES, Field Maps is replacing Collector and we have announced deprecation plans for the end of next year for the iOS and Android apps. If you are looking for information about migration, please give our migration guide a read:https://www.esri.com/content/dam/esrisites/en-us/media/pdf/implementation-guides/field-maps-migration-guide.pdf Thanks!

That's great to hear @SteveTaylor6! Thank you for the confirmation that Field Maps is supporting your data collection needs. Hopefully you can take advantage of the new capabilities Field Maps can bring to your field workflows (like smart forms) next year.

Hi Brooks, You are correct that there will be no new future development within Collector. That goes for map viewer capabilities and any other enhancements. Our focus is on advancing data collection enhancements within ArcGIS Field Maps. We are working closely with the team building the Map Viewer beta and you've probably noticed already that the new smart forms you create within the Field Maps web app are supported in both the mobile app but also in the map viewer beta as well. We are also supporting group layers in Field Maps as well. Perhaps the biggest feature that is not yet supported in Field Maps yet are pop-up elements. This functionality is not yet available in the underlying ArcGIS Runtime SDKs that are used by Field Maps but once they are addressed then we will add support. We have not documented capabilities within Map Viewer beta that are not supported in Field Maps yet. This is a great idea and would be quite useful. I'll share this with our doc team.
