Here is the excel file - I am playing around the label; label::English (en) and label:: Khmer. and default language. I am fine with the default language as khmer because that is who will be collecting - but the GIS data should be in english!   I will look at ESRI Bind, it seems like it might do what I need for the column names, though I still want to know how to ensure that the data in the table are only in english? For example, gender should be only male, female etc...and not a mix of english and khmer? I guess I will have to delete and re-upload the survey again anyway... thanks for your help, ... View more

I created a survey in English, and had Khmer (for Cambodia) characters appended to the questions. Then I saw the multiple language support example and added a new column for labels in Khmer....even when the default is English, and I also put english in the column called 'label' as well as label:: English (en) for the questions and the choices, my answers are in Khmer! or a mix. What gives? wait what? Is this still the case? I just spent days making an english survey in Khmer, and the Aliases and coded entries are all in foreign Khmer...characters not recognized by all. The column names in my schema are all english. Are you saying there is still NO way to have a default alias and coded entries in English, with the survey labels in another language? What's the point of multiple language support and providing the survey123 example if it doesn't work... ... View more

In Survey123 you can see sent surveys and drafts and edit those and sync, but not in a map interface. If you want to do it in map interface load the survey results feature service (editing enabled) into a web map or app you can then edit it – there is an editing template, or just use the web map. Or you can also use Collector to edit on a mobile device.. ... View more

You can create loops or recurring (being_repeat) questions in Survey123 to add multiple waypoints to one location: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/create-surveys/quickreferencecreatesurveys.htm otherwise, an option is to have all your locations as a feature service, load them in collector, and edit them individually using a custom URL in the popup. thank you erwin! I did change the custom URL scheme in my app but it didn't have any effect on how it opens. I believe that is only if you want your app to open in another app like collector...which is too complicated - I just want one single app. Or maybe I am wrong - doyou have a screenshot of what it should look like (there are in fact 2 entries for custom URL in appstudio settings). Tech support could not provide this or confirm if my settings were wrong. thank you Mark, I agree it should be "really easy" to open a survey in survey123 but unfortunately it isn't. Imagine the possibilities if people could make apps that are surveys! I purchased a developer Builder account from ESRI to the tune of 1250$ to be able to customize and brand survey123 with appstudio, which I did, but it's useless - it is not possible to open a survey without a login first. The workflow you outlined can only use esri's survy123 and is what we have been doing, but we wanted branding and invested in developer. The goal of my public app is to make it as easy, simple and straightforward as possible for people to access and fill out the survey. With this workflow they won"t do it and it's just clunky. Or they have to install collector, find my map, then click open a survey123? that's even worse. Esri technical support spun me in circles for weeks and now told me I need to hire an app developer. are there any updates on this? We want to launch a series of public crowd sourcing apps - survey123 apps that open a public survey directly. Seems simple enough but ESRI technical support was not able to help and we are doing an official app launch next week...it is a shame to have a long work around (download survey123, search for survey, download), which are several steps which prevent people from easily accessing the app, and it's also not branded. Anyone know a developer who could create these kind of customized survey123 apps for us would be greatly appreciated as it seems there is no ready ESRI software solution available... ... View more

add this to the problem that on tablets Collector is forced into landscape orientation, and so when the keyboard pops up it takes us half the screen, so you can't see your map or form anymore. So as far as I can tell *warning!* Collector is practically useless on a tablet. Would have been nice to know before purchasing big screen tablets, as I would have bought galaxy phones or similar instead... ... View more

yes - what a mess! just arrived in the field to find that the collector app only displays in landscape mode, and when I edit an entry, the keyboard pops up (even though my field are only selections from dropdowns, there is no text to enter) and blocks almost the entire screen!! do you know if it's due to a recent android update? I am currently viewing the SurveysGalleryPage.qml and searched for 'itemID' and 'checkOpenParameters' and nothing came up.... It should be simple enough to enter an itemID and have the app load an existing survey? I thought that was what the URL schema did, but it does not work either... ... View more
