How can you use a survey123 custom URL in AppStudio? i.e. to create an app that will load a specific survey? Where you do you set it or input it? Is it in app settings or QTcreator?

but all this does is change the branding - it's still just an empty survy123...how can you edit the questions and form? where is all the work you do in survey123 connect?

where does one put this URL scheme in? I have changed in the app settings, is it in the parameters? Are there any documentation or help files that explain where to input the custom URL and how? I am talking about appstudio. I have downloaded the survey123 template...then what? Where does one customize the app in QTcreator? where can one find the URL scheme and change it? Where can someone like me, who is not a programmer find a simple documentation on how to either: open a survey from an appstudio app or open a specific survey123 from the appstudio app template? The documentation is seriously lacking for a commercial package that ESRI sells for over 1000USD.

Thanks James, I have a lot of problems with the Quick Report, (for some reason photos cannot be added, even though it is clearly enabled in the settings), it also doesn't have any smart form functionality. I downloaded the survey123 template into appstudio....but I don't see where to add the link to my form or any parameters for my questions? I also can't find any help or documentation - how can this be? How are beginners supposed to get started with AppStudio (after paying for quite an expensive license?) This page is all I can find and of very little help: Configure Survey123 using AppStudio for ArcGIS—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS am I supposed to understand that all I can do is open the Survey123 app with a custom picture? when I click on {edit} on my app in AppStudio, nothing happens - isn't a window supposed to open?

What I want is the survey to be accessible in the google play store. How would editing survey123 change that - or I guess that shows I know nothing about AppStudio. any tips or help pages on making this possible would be great, thanks!

I have a nice survey123 form that is shared publicly. Rather than share the link every time, it would be great to point people to an app in the Android store. Is this possible? and to keep the offline capability? I have a Developer license, running AppStudio with the standard license (additional options). I also have a google developer account. What do I need to do?

this is extremely inconvenient and disappointing! I just upgraded to 10.6 and even though this is meant to be fixed ALL of my tools show the error and arcMap is useless. If arcGIS pro were a bit faster and more user friendly than I would switch over. I reset my arcGIS profile and it did not fix the problem. The extraction of the zip file did not work either, and my IT cannot understand what this means: REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0" /v 1201 /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f is there a screenshot or something on how this is achieved? Do we add a new key? What is it called and what is the entry? I don't see how it is possible that ESRI has rendered their own software completely inoperable on windows!

So I am using tabulate intersection to calculate the forest cover for different areas. My forest cover is a polygon for which I have calculated geodesic area. Tabulate area seems to sum up the geodesic area (I selected SUM for my AREA_GEO column), but the tool also produces an "Area" column, which in the geo tool I specified I wanted in hectares. These two values are different - about 2-10% different: the Area column different from the sum of the geodesic area. And these values are also different from the results I get if I just CLIP the layers and tally the area. So which is correct??

Thanks again! So this alludes to my original comment - why can't we simply select planar or geodesic area (which according to what I have read is more accurate) as an option for these tools? And when we work with rasters it's a whole other mess...

Thank you very much - my question was which method is more accurate? Because with larger areas the differences are much larger...this was only a subset of my dataset. Over the entire globe the differences between the methods ends up much larger...

yes of course, but when running two tools on the same dataset in the map project and the same projection, the results should in theory be the same? Or closer? here are some data: provinces and forest. area - Google Drive The differences get much larger over bigger areas...

I was talking about tabulate area in ArcGIS, but Tabulate Intersection does the same thing - and provides different results/calculations than other tools. The question is, which is more accurate??

This is probably the most important operation anyone has to do with GIS: calculate the area of something within something else. I can't think of a single day when I don't have to do this. So why is there no reliable method? I am calculating the total area of forest within provinces and districts. I don't use tabulate area because you have to convert the outputs from m2 to something else and it's a pain. I saw the Summarize Within tool in ArcGIS Pro and thought gee that does exactly what I need. All my data are in cylindrical equal area projection. The results I get from using Summarize Within however are greatly different from if I clip my polygon to a province area and add geometry attributes with geodesic area. We are talking large differences here - 20% or more. I have lots of provinces and districts and clipping to each one will take an eternity. How are people supposed to reliably calculate area if the GIS tools provided give completely different results? Is there reliable information as to which tool to use and which is more accurate? I am wondering now how much error there are in all the forest area reporting out there when using different tools seems to create huge differences.

How can I change the language settings on AppStudio for Desktop to English? I find it hard enough to build an app using these tools, but having my whole setup in German, because I happen to be in Germany isn't really helping at all... I can't find any language settings in the desktop app. is there something I am missing? many thanks for your help.
