Hi @ZachBodenner, Does the SQL Server account that you're connecting to the enterprise geodatabase with, have the following: "To monitor a geodatabase, the SQL Server user account's default schema must be the same schema in which the geodatabase system tables are stored." This is in the help topic I referenced in my previous post. Hope this helps,

Hi @ZachBodenner, I've glad to hear you were able to register the database. > ... the gdb metrics (gdb_version, gdb_connections, etc) are not coming through as options when I try to set up the expressions I don't mean to state the obvious, but are you sure you registered an enterprise geodatabase (that is implemented on SQL Server) and not just a "regular" SQL Server database? The gdb_ metrics are only available for enterprise geodatabase components and not "regular" databases. Does the new different account that you used to register the database component with Monitor, does it have the correct access permissions to view the enterprise geodatabase? Hope this helps,

Hi @LouEarly, > I've attempted to unregister the agent, uninstall and reinstall with no success. To confirm that you've completely removed AM Agent from the machine, after running the uninstaller wizard, Can you please navigate to C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Monitor in Windows Explorer and ensure the folder labeled "Agent" is completely removed? Then try to install AM Agent again. Hope this helps,

Hi @EricJohnson-HDR, Thanks for sharing the additional info. Just to be clear, you're running: - AM Server 2024.0 and AM Agent 2024.0.1, right? FYI in ArcGIS Monitor 2024.0.1 we fixed a bug related to AM Agents disconnecting from the AM Database when it becomes unavailable. > Assume if I have to remove the current components and reconnect, I will loose all my Collections, Dashboards (analysis), tags etc? If you unregister components in Monitor, your collections and analysis views will remain but will be empty. If you re-register them, then data collected previously will be unavailable. Please open a case with Esri Tech Support so they can help investigate further.

HI @EricJohnson-HDR, > Monitor server is not connecting to any hosts. ... "ArcGIS Monitor Agent is not ready" Did you also install AM Agent on the same machine as where you installed AM Server? I am wondering if you're upgrading from ArcGIS Monitor 2023 to 2024 (which has a different deployment architecture). Or was ArcGIS Monitor 2024 running normally, then this message appeared suddenly? Side note: recommend you upgrade to the latest ArcGIS Monitor 2024.1.1 release - which includes many bug fixes over the 2024.0.1 release. Hope this helps,

Hi @ZahidMia, The layout for the charts on a component's overview page (in this case for a host) is customized to show the statistics (as seen in your first screenshot). > However, when we create a new storage metrics how can we add the statistics on it What you're asking for is not possible when configuring a serial chart in an analysis view. We don't offer this capability. Please submit a feature enhancement request in the ArcGIS Monitor Ideas forum. Hope this helps,

Hi @Royce_Simpson, Okay, I learned something new from your post. It looks like for Oracle-based databases and geodatabases, ArcGIS Monitor reports some additional metrics, including the ones you asked about. These are not reported back from SQL Server and PostgreSQL; which is why the metrics you asked about were not documented. > I want to create a view that shows current Oracle SDE sessions broken out by client type (Arcmap, Pro, and Server). I've configured a serial chart to show the number of geodatabase connections, separated out by connection type, This is the dataview expression to generate this, And the configuration settings for the serial chart element, I have also attached the exported JSON file for the sample analysis view, so you can easily import it into your ArcGIS Monitor instance, but you will have to edit the dataview expression (because mine uses component name). Hope this helps,

Hi @MichaelJenkins, Q1) Can the Monitor Agent connect to two different ArcGIS Monitor hosts? A1) ArcGIS Monitor (AM) Agents are typically installed on the host where they will be collecting data from. The exception would be the AM Agent installed on the same machine as ArcGIS Monitor (AM) Server. It could be used when registering a database or geodatabase with AM Server. Q2) Can two instances of the Monitor Agent be installed on each server to be monitored? A2) At this time, installing 2x instances of AM Agent on the same host machine to report data back to 2x different instances of AM Server is not supported. Q3) Is a Dev version of Monitor even recommended? A3) This really depends on your business use case and needs. Hope this helps,

On Mar 5, the second ArcGIS Monitor User Group meeting was held. The topic was a discussion on leveraging analysis views in Monitor. Patrick Terry from Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and Michael Bellino & Daniel Wade from Forsyth County, GA discuss how they use analysis views in ArcGIS Monitor to help manage their Enterprise GIS deployments. This is an intermediate-level presentation. Prior knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Monitor is recommended. ArcGIS Monitor User Group Meeting #2: Analysis Views Webinar attendee submitted questions & answers: Q1: What version of ArcGIS Monitor was being used by the webinar presenters? A1: Both Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and Forsyth County, GA were using ArcGIS Monitor 2023.3.1 in the session. Q2. Does ArcGIS Monitor 2024.1 or 2024.1.x allow for machine monitoring without an ArcGIS component? We haven't found a way to get the monitor agent to connect when there is no ArcGIS Server, Portal, Data Store, etc. A2: Yes. When you install ArcGIS Monitor (AM) Agent on a host machine, then register it with ArcGIS Monitor (AM) Server, you will be able to collect metrics about the host machine. The host does not have to have any ArcGIS software installed on it. Q3: Does ArcGIS Monitor use logs interpretation to get statistics? Q3: ArcGIS Monitor collects its data for metrics via the REST APIs and logs. Q4: The service-check metric is a great enhancement in v2024.1. Are there plans to allow notifications based on the findings of the check-service rather than just changes to the metric itself? Currently, if a monitored webmap or REST service goes up/down, it logs the change but doesn’t trigger a notification. A4: Can you please provide more information on what you would like to do and submit this as a new feature enhancement on the ArcGIS Monitor Ideas forum. Q5: Are the any resources or repositories that show how to configure all of the metrics? Q5. This blog is a good place to start, ArcGIS Monitor – Essential Resources. We suggest you start with some of the blogs that provide guidance on how to configure some analysis views in ArcGIS Monitor. Q6. Regarding Patrick's segment, can you share how you configured monitoring shared instances/ArcSOCs? A6. Configuration of dataview expressions: This shows all ArcSOCs for RAM. The expression is the same for CPU but the metrics are "Process CPU Utilized" and "CPU Utilized". This details the number of instances running for a particular ArcSOC. The views that detailed instances saturation and mean instances used per service are from this blog, 5 Useful ArcGIS Server Analysis Elements in ArcGIS Monitor

Hi @Royce_Simpson, > When I go to Monitoring -> Components -> myGDB Oracle Database -> Metrics, I see several metrics for "database sessions" - Arcmap, ArcPro, and ArcServer, each of which has a graph that is delivering legit-looking data. Was hoping there was a way to recreate those in a custom view. Wow, interesting. I just registered an Oracle-based enterprise geodatabase with my Monitor instance and see these metrics. When I compare against the metrics reported for a SQL Server-based enterprise geodatabase, I don't see these metrics. I also noticed in the Register Oracle databases help topic, there's no mention of these metrics. Let me check into this a bit and I will post an update. Thanks for your patience.
